great video! good job showing what to do in the field with normal cheap stuff. Do not skip as much. You skipped crimping the other side of the wires into butt connectors. should have shown how to crimp in the awkward posisition. thanks for taking the time to make a video.
Buy heat shrink tubing with adhesive in it . 3M Scotchkote FD coating works well , it is intended for underground wire splices . 15 fd oz $50.00 Amazon . It works well and is worth it . The can will last a long time . 5/13/23
Corey, electrical tape should work just fine. Make sure you clean the colored insulation (plastic that covers the metal wires) of the wires really well, maybe with some alcohol if you have it, so that the tape will stick really well and won’t come unstuck because the wires were dirty or greasy.
Just a comment - when demonstrating an action close up, or minute details, you need to focus on getting your object lesson in the view screen. There were a couple of points you were making and took the wiring butts out of the camera view.
Alvaro, I don’t know if that would cause DOT violation on a semi trailer. I can’t see how it would if it were done well and the lights worked, but maybe semi trailers require a certified mechanic to do the work?

You’re right,
Excellent video!!! This is exactly what I needed and you did a great job showing and explaining.
I am so happy that it helped you, Ms. Sobol. Thanks for the comment, I appreciate the feedback.
Thanks so much excellent info covered everything I wanted to know. Now I've got to fix mine. You made it slot simpler. Thankyou.
You’re welcome Ernie, best of luck in your repair!
Great video 👏 I hope you get your house in Belize
I hope so too!

Oh, I’m gonna have to get some of that! Thanks.
Most helpful!
I’m glad it was helpful.
If I do not have the shrink wrap for the outside would electrical tape work just as well? Or would it not hold up to weather?

Would this same process work for a power cord that powers the electric and ac in a cargo trailer?
Becky, yes, it should work the same way.
Will it be the same with the lights on the side of the trailer like the smaller lights ?
Should be.

You are right, Michael and I will do better in the future. Thank you for the constructive criticism. I appreciate you taking the time to help.

You missed 1/3 of the process with bad video location?
Yes, you are right. The video was cropped or shrank when I uploaded it and I can’t figure out how to keep the original perspective. Apologies.
You might want to edit your license plate out of your video...
Not worried about it, but thanks.
