    I made this with loose black tea, without rice. It was amazing! I wanna more smoked recipes from Chinese cuisine. Thanks a lot! Really cool recipe, easy and long.

    Absolutely fascinating! I had that in a restaurant yesterday, and it completely mystified me, so I naturally had to scrounge up the recipe on youtube. As a bonus, the channel's right neat.

    Done this about 25 yrs ago, my first go at smoking food, was excellent, this looks more flavorful than the one i did.

    Oh wow, this is such a gorgeous and amazing recipe. I remember when I was 11 or so, being invited to lunch at the house of a close friend and colleague of my father's in a London suburb. His wife made the most exquisite food, so aesthetic and subtle. Tea eggs and chicken I remember eating, beautiful to look at and delicious. I almost thought I had imagined it. Thanks for this! Kindled a lovely memory. Now, to actually make it...

    Oh, my... I never realized that a wok could be used to smoke like this... I'm gonna have to try this method for smoking with this recipe and others. Fascinating technique, which means it's an automatic add to my recipe list! Can't wait to try it!

    Never would have thought about smoking with tea, fascinating! That rub also sounds amazing. I’m thinking sprinkled ontop of something like a poke bowl would be great too

    Did a similar smoke recipe of James Maetin with tea rice sugar etc. Made a tinfoil tray and smoker and put it on the BBQ - it was really good, but this looks nicer with the rub and steamer stage. Will definitely try this!
