Disclaimer: This is an older showroom floor unit and does not represent the latest version of the headphone design.
Mirph Designs have reached out to me to confirm that the sliding rod problem has already been addressed and should perform now with good grip and a slow precise action.

I got to try it at Canjam London as well and really liked it. The MIRPH-1 along the Austrian Audio The composer and Skedra's dual driver headphone were for me the ones that stood out the most.

I think there's a lot of stagnation, and those guys are all definitely standing out of the crowd.

This is the design I wish Grado would implement. Great sound should not come at the cost of comfort

I have listened the Mirph-1 with numerous amps below 1w and it works beautifully even with the iFi Kensai

Real cool looking headphones, and its always nice to support an enthusiast rather than a big corpo entity, a but too rich for my blood but id jump at the chance to try em out.

If dabbling with smaller companies has taught me anything is they at least can offer some of the best build quality in the whole market, regardless of price, but I totally understand... it's no small amount of change.

@@GREQReviews You should consider getting a IEC 60318-4 Coupler + KB501X Pinnae, it would make your data so much more useful.

Never heard of these headphones but golly that is one hell of a well engineered headphones. Might they present a new meta in headphone design driver? Something actually innovative in the headphone space?
Hopefully this will be the start to something good~
I might need to get one of these now actually.
Also I wonder if the rod suspension mechanism would benefit from a design similar to the Kenwood KH-73 headphones?

I'd like to see more companies trying out random stuff like this, but I think this particular design would benefit HUGELY from a driver with far greater excursion, like the Focal drivers or AKG K1000.
There are also some other normal looking drivers with silicone surrounds that aid with excursion, but I have no idea if that's a gimmick or not.

Great review as always! One small question I have is what target your graphs compensate to. They look like they are compensated to the DF target, but I wanted to be sure.

      That's right.
The miniDSP EARS compensation files are quite close to the diffuse field compensation.
I always loved how easy it was to read the graphs by Tyll from Innerfidelity back in the day, where a flat graph pretty much meant equal loudness. So I've been completely against raw graphs, especially when they dont show a target graph with it.
So, I know it's a bit old fashioned now, but with my huge database there should be plenty of reference points to help make sense of it all.
