Hey brother good to see another sublocade video from you! I enjoyed our collab video we did a while back. For those considering sublocade I went from 4 mg daily subs to 150 mg first shot.
Second shot 100 mg at 4 weeks
Third shot 100 mg at 5 weeks
Fourth shot 100 mg at 6 weeks
Fifth shot 75 mg at 8 weeks
6th shot will be 75 mg at 9 weeks (currently at 8 weeks today since my last 75 mg shot). This will be 600 mg total taken over about 9 months. With every shot you learn to trust sublocade more and more amd I find once you’re passed the steady state you can space the doses out with no problem (due to the 45-60 day half life) but some dr’s will not allow this. For many people the first month will be the most challenging, then when you get second shot you’re much better off since you still have more then half of the first shot left at that time. I truly believe if I was to stay on sublocade as maintenance that I could do 100 mg once every 3 months and be totally fine. What a Great alternative from dosing orally twice per day every day for many years! So many people on my channel have already made the switch to sublocade and most of them love the new found freedom. Wishing anyone the best of luck!

@@KenStarrMDWellnessGroup I think it’s my OCD brain overthinking it all. That plus I’m not having to pay for any of it thankfully. And for whatever reason my dr has wanted me to do 6 shots. I figured if he’s cool with me spacing out the doses and also lowering the dose I’m ok with it. Otherwise I felt like it was stacking to much if I went every month. Hope you’re doing well! 👍

Hey so i was on 4mg suboxone for a couple months after tapering down from 8 mg. My doctor gave me a 100mg sublocade shot a week ago and he said that the only shot i will need. Does this seem right? Right now i feel a little bit of withdrawl symptoms but just yawning, anxiety, and peeing a lot. Sleeping fine but just worried that i feel like this only 1 week in and how the next few weeks are going to go.

i went straight from a gram a day heroin habit to getting a 300mg shot of sublocade after 12 hrs no use of heroin and had horrific withdrawls for 2 days, well im on day 2 and in my desperation shot nearly half a gram of heroin and i feel ok, not high just ok so im not sure if the sub shot is finally working or the heroin did something, but im pretty sure the naloxone stopped the H from doing anything. should i have been on sub strips before the sublocade shot?

I want to make sure I have the information correct to switch to sublocade. Should I try the 100 mg sunlocade, wait 4 weeks and do another 100 mg shot then stop all together? Or do I need to keep getting the 100 mg shots? I don't have insurance and thats why I am concerned, I can afford the 1st two shots.

Fortunately, my physician did supplement with 2mg films a day until today. Dr., you've said that the first shot doesn't work that well for everyone.. have you heard anyone say that they've experienced withdrawal symptoms after their 2nd (300mg) injection? I don't want to go through that again.. if so I will have to switch back to the 8mg films 2× daily, and I really don't want to do that. Thank you in advance, Dr.

The first month is always the hardest. Your body is trying to adjust to the slow steady release of bupe vs the oral doses which provide highs and lows each day. Many can mistake the lack of feeling their dose as them being in wd. Not saying that’s what happened here but it’s possible. Once you get your second shot you’ll be doing much better since you’ll still have more then 150 mg from your first shot still in your when you get the next 300 dose. Don’t let the little devil make a problem that really isn’t there. Unless yours getting the runs, or restless legs then you’re most likely not in wd. Since the blood levels from the shot should have you on higher bupe levels then you had on oral doses (due to the high bioavailability of the shot vs oral subs) most people are golden after they get the second shot (steady state). Hope this helps!

Aww haha I remember that, wow that’s literally about right what I guessed your test would be if I can recall ? Yea that’s really surprising about having WD! The day you get that second shot you’ll literally have prob 450-500 mg worth of depot’s in you so my guess is you’ll be feeling lots better after that. First month is always hardest for just about everyone IMO. You’ll be feeling lots better with proper test levels as well! Glad you got that checked. 👍

How many buprenorphine patients receiving 12mg/day or more needed Gallbladder Surgery after several years of treatment?
Buprenorphine is very heavy on the liver. We all know that, so I was wondering according to my research people on or above 16 daily experiences Gallbladder removal ( which is connected directly on the liver)

    • @kickinaddiction

Ive talked to thousands of Suboxone users many of them have been on more then ten years. Ive never heard anyone talk about having gallbladder issues let alone removal. The worst issue I’ve seen from long term use is them losing many teeth prematurely. I personally believe that the sublocade shot will do much less damage to teeth then taking oral subs. But that has yet to be studied. I’m interested to see what Dr Starr says about this.
