How to easily and quickly install channel drains next to your house footings

I enjoy doing things around the house with my own hands, although most of the renovations are my first trial but I get it done at the end.
This project is about installing the plastic channel drains at the back of the house along the footing where rain water pond and access the footings.
The idea is to collect all the rain water and direct it to the downpipes.

Hi mate thanks for this vid, am doing the same in my house, would it make any difference if you paint the bricks with bitumen before you install the drain channel?

What if you want to install this but there is a gas pipe in the way going down into the ground and a square drain in the way

With regards to the compressible strip against the house; why do you need it? I understand that the concrete could shrink as it dries but surely you could add your flexible mastic down the edge of the concrete regardless of whether you have the compressible strip or not? I’m not criticising I’m genuinely asking?

It's only there temporarily to create a rebate where you will be squeezing the caulking later.

@@BerberoSaharan okay I get that but is it needed? If the concrete shrinks and it isn’t there, can’t you just backfill with the mastic? Asking genuine question as I have an issue up against my house similar to this. Brick paving all the way to the wall and it needs sorting as damp coming in heavy! 👍 thanks

@@Bazzaruto If you don't caulk inside a rebate, it will not last long. Read the product data sheet of the product you want to use to understand.
