Chicago: The Cultural Crossroads - The first part of the Saxophone Sisters performance with The Fareed Haque Trio at the Eye on India Festival Chicago 2014.
‘The sisters seem to have an amazing amount of untapped potential.......this sequence brings out very little out of their saxophones.......I would like to see their exclusive performance. The performance overall of the entire orchestra is beautiful , melodious and mesmerising .’ You are right
Truly Exceptional! God Bless them, it must be extremely hard for them to get recognized at International Level. Do not let the fame become hurdle in future.

Further, it is to be always notified which sax they play , tenor saxophone or alto sax or soprano or Baritone saxophone. I think the artist hight , in tall might be playing Tenor saxophone. .... A musician
It is presentations like these which can break a career. The programme should have been thoroughly rehearsed. But in spite of these loud, unwanted hiccups the young ladies performed very well
Great performance by Lavanya but the guitarist is really a maestro .Bravo .I am a pro sax player from the neighbouring country Sri Lanka .Hope you will come here for a performance .Kadri has been here and I have met him .
Stevie, your great-great-great X 1000 (Yes, this is not an exaggerated figure) grandfather was not even concieved in the jungles when these were created.
The saxophone sisters are great! But my mind is occupied with this thought: I am seeing a pattern across many such experiments (e.g., V M Bhatt's session with Ry Cooder), and what I am seeing is the inability of Indian musicians to have a dialogue. They just do their stuff in the way in which they have always done, and then keep shut for some time, then again start off, and so on. After all, Indian music is improvisational at its heart, so then why this difficulty? Why not have eye contact with the other musicians, converse with them musically, travel across ragas, beat cycles, if needed? They can always revert to the sthai raga after completing sections. After all, neither they nor the audience has come expecting an exposition of pure ragas. The session can become a bundle of surprises for them as well as for the audience.
Wonderful performance! It was more like sextet than trio!! I’m glad the ladies took control of the program near the end.
