What an amazing dress! Perhaps you could organize a children's costume meetup at Costume College. There must be other eras or themes that could be combined. We used to have American Girl tea parties for kids and their parents at my library, that might be fun to translate into costuming! It seems a shame to let all your beautiful work languish unseen! ☺
I honestly think I'm going to plan this for next year. I had wanted to do it as a pre-CoCo thing this year, and go have a meal at the AG store, but their main location is closed this summer, and their pop-up doesn't have a restaurant.
This is so beautiful! You could probably wear this at some time of nutcracker/Christmas themed event too if you add a few green or candy cane accessories!
This dress is beautiful. I found I love working with horses and quilt top making during my COVID induced unemployment. I had way too much free time and the situation in general was taking a toll on my mental and physical health. If I didn't find something I enjoyed doing I would have gone insane. It's good to see other people who struggled find themselves in a better place too.
It's very pretty 😍. You made a good call on the 6 panels. I'm glad you just lifted the top skirt to show the netting (?) The visual really helped with what you were talking about. Yum white taffeta and overdyed pink 💗
This thing is jaw dropping. Brava! I can't imagine putting this much labor and delicate layers into clothes for an actual child though. I would have gone straight into a deep, extra mucky mud puddle had my mother put me in this as a kid, lol
That is a construction tour de force! Am really impressed, the close ups are so beautiful and the reconstruction so rigorous, we need a new kind of museum or art tellers for high level costumes.
I still think you could get use from this masterpiece if you adapted it as adult evening gown by either adding a full-length underskirt or by tacking an extension piece in up under the bottom row of pleats. The ivory silk shouldn't be too hard to find a match for, although matching the dyed parts might be more of an issue. The hem of the enxtension (or underskirt) needn't even be very detailed or time-consiming, given how many pleats adorn the existing part, perhaps just a plain hem with a stripe of two of the bias trim. I'm not trying to tell you what to do, though it probably sounds that way - I'm just sharing my thoughts on a relatively low-effort way to get more opportunities for wearing it. I love this dress and am full of admiration at the amount of hand work you were prepared to put into it, and it's a crying shame that you don't have other opportunities for wearing it.
I've loved the original dress ever since I saw it on one of those Victorian twitter accounts! It's incredible. You did such a stellar job recreating it!
This dress is so freakin cute! This is among my favorites of the ones you've made, and is a really great recreation of the original, especially with the image(s) you could find
This is such a amazing dress., I really love how the over skirt looks💜💜💜 and the box pleats are on point! So crisp and just😍😍😍 loved the deep dive into this dress!
Thank you. I truly enjoyed and love this video. The hard work and time consumed, to create this beautiful "reproduction" are so evident. You outdid yourself. Congratulations! ...and yes, i agree that you should wear it again.
It‘s a beautiful dress, and it would be nice to get more wear out of it. Why not make it a convertible dress? Maybe add snap-on panels to make the sleeves and the bottom of the skirt longer, so you can turn it into an adult‘s day dress. You could probably also make the bertha removable and make an adult-version bertha to swap it with. It would be interesting to see how you would go about remodelling this dress, if you ever decide to do it.
Hi Rebecca! The dress is really beautiful and I love it. You look gorgeous in it. By the way, I cann't see the link for the boots. Did you forget to add it?
So pretty, but WOW that's a lot of work for you and then you only get one chance to wear it,you should have a Victorian child's tea party in the park and wear your dress.💖
To be honest, I really never lost interest in this project (as opposed to Elsa). I think it helped that I was working on a few other projects at the same time, and that the hand-sewing could be done in front of the TV.
If you ever want to wear it again, couldn't you just tack the third ruffle up? Yes, it would be a lot of extra fabric, but maybe you could wrap it around the bottom of the crinoline?
The color on my computer must be totally off because that looks quite orange to me. Absolutely Gorgeous, but definitely nothing close to pink on my computer, sigh, this disturbs me greatly.

Oh man, an AG meetup at Costume College would be fun!
The four of us want to reprise our outfits, but unfortunately half the group won't be there this year. Maybe next year!

@@LadyRebeccaFashions that would be perfect! This year I don't have time to get an AG outfit made 😊
This dress is INCREDIBLE! I love the contrasting colors, the chevron trim, and the dagged panels. Thank you for sharing. This outfit is Amazing.
I love this dress so much. The Victorian children group is adorable!
This dress is so beautiful! It really looks exactly like the garment you copied.
This is so beautiful! You could probably wear this at some time of nutcracker/Christmas themed event too if you add a few green or candy cane accessories!
This dress is adorable. Love the additions and the colors. The T.Bear was the perfect accessory.

The handiwork... The quality... Absolute art. You must be a master.

Simply stunning 😍
The original is stunning and your copy is so perfect.
Fabulous. Indeed you should be proud of that gorgeous dress.

I am happy that you are proud of your WOW! dress! Hope you get to wear it again! 😊
This is beautiful
I love the pink trim! Really pops against the white!
Lady R (not Lady A😉) have you ever considered renting it out to a theater for a production? More people need to see it I think! 💖🇨🇦
Oh God no. It would be destroyed in a second.
@@LadyRebeccaFashions I did think about that after I made the comment so sorry 🙄.
Simply WOW!!! What a beautiful grown! Very very well made, and one to be very proud of for sure!
It's an absolutely incredible tribute to your sewing skills.
I LOVE the dress! I think your version with the sleeves & extra panel looks better than the original!
Absolutely gorgeous!
I love waking up to a new video of yours! Now to watch it!
Wow! So absolutely beautiful and intricate, I am constantly astounded by how talented you are. This might be my favorite of your dresses so far :)
Wow that’s stunning! Such a lovely project!

I love it. I think a dress like that would look adorable on my little girl. She has natural ringlets in her hair.
Oh yay! I’ve always been curious about this dress!!!
How fun, and what a lot of sewing!!
This dress is so freakin cute! This is among my favorites of the ones you've made, and is a really great recreation of the original, especially with the image(s) you could find
Truly Gorgeous!!!!
This is awesome, one of my favorites that you've ever done.
This is charming.

Super cute & I love the boots!
Realy cool dress...real piece of wareble art🤩💗
Very pretty!
Love the colors. Would be pretty made longer for an adult dress
Wow that’s an amazing dress I can’t imagine how sore your fingers must have been
Steven King Con may be a perfect place to be a Victorian child 😆
The dress looks stunning. Maybe you could make it longer to wear is as an adult ball gown?

Color matching the overdyed silk would probably be a next level nightmare.
Yeah, I don't think I'll be adding anything to this dress. It was so much work as it was!
Hi Rebecca! The dress is really beautiful and I love it. You look gorgeous in it. By the way, I cann't see the link for the boots. Did you forget to add it?
Yep, I forgot to add it. It's there now! And thanks!
Just add snaps to the petticoat so you can tuck the bottom layer up if you want to rewear this in the future!
Hmm, that might work!
Thank you for showing this wonderful outfit. Have you sent photos of your reproduction to the Museum? Love the group playing at Costume College.
Thanks! And yep, I sent them some pictures, and they were impressed!
This dress is glorious….🥰🇦🇺
Cute! ❤💜
So pretty, but WOW that's a lot of work for you and then you only get one chance to wear it,you should have a Victorian child's tea party in the park and wear your dress.💖
How did you keep the motivation to work on something for so long? I'm so bad at seeing projects all the way through.
To be honest, I really never lost interest in this project (as opposed to Elsa). I think it helped that I was working on a few other projects at the same time, and that the hand-sewing could be done in front of the TV.
If only you'd some more material you could add a full length underskirt and it would just looked tiered! ❤❤❤
THAT DRESS IS AWESOME AND YES IT LOOKS HARD TO DO WOW😍😍👑👑👑👑👑👑😵😵
Did you send pictures to the museum?
Yes, and they really liked it!
Make a group gathering to wear it to it’s like a Lolita dress almost :)
If you ever want to wear it again, couldn't you just tack the third ruffle up? Yes, it would be a lot of extra fabric, but maybe you could wrap it around the bottom of the crinoline?
On the petticoat? Very possibly. And I think I pleated it up with the ruffler foot, so even fully removing it and reattaching it wouldn't be too bad.
You could probably get away with wearing it (sans bear) to a non-costume party.
🇨🇦😃 love this one
The color on my computer must be totally off because that looks quite orange to me. Absolutely Gorgeous, but definitely nothing close to pink on my computer, sigh, this disturbs me greatly.
Oh yeah, that must be off. It is salmon pink.
Love that dress, now you just need to make up excuses to wear it!
That is a LOT of bias tape o.O
Watch out for carpal tunnel.
You are so brave. I don't own anything white. Much less something fancy and definitely not machine washable.
