Re-uploaded this (a second time 😩) episode due to audio issues after setting up my new mic incorrectly, sorry about that! Big thanks to all of you who messaged/commented to point out the issue 🙌🏼
I'm picking this one up new today at half price. Super excited. I have the 16mm f.4, and the 35mm f1.4 is next. All these new lenses coming out I'm getting the older ones when they go on sale. 😊
yeah this lens absolutely crushes. love it so much. i typically am not a 50 shooter on aps-c but there is something about how this lens renders light and faces that i just love
Good comparison, thank you! Nice to see we share some of the same stamping grounds 🙂 I've often used the 50mm f2 for street photography and am almost certainly getting this lens after my research.
Love your style man. One question: Fuji has two 56mm 1.2 lenses. Which one is the right one from your video 1) XF56mmF1.2 R WR or 2) XF56mmF1.2 R APD ? thanks...
Thanks man, really liked this video. I'm thinking of getting back into street photography, and was eyeing up this lens. When I shot street in the past (er, 20 years ago), I was shooting with zooms, and around 90mm was my favourite focal length. Your video reminded me why.
Great Video and photos, as always, Eren. Pleased you sorted out the audio issue, new mic looks good and sounds good too. I love the 56mm focal length for the same reasons you mention in the video, I picked up the 56 1.4 sigma lens for my Sony A6400 a few years ago.
Just found your channel, amazing! ❤ Photos and your style. Some photos making me want to go watch blade runner😂 I had x-s10 and now xt5, can't express how much better focusing on the xt5 is. Example, hardest was my toddlers kids w f/eye, x-s10 hit rate was low % wide open, with xt5 high % in focus.
Great video, I loved it! I happen to have both new 23 and 56 mm lenses from Fujifilm. Maybe it's just me, but they both seem evenly fast. I have no problem using it for event photography.
Oh didn’t know that. During all occasions I had quiet good lightning and even used a flash once. I’ll try to push the lens to it’s limits next time :-)
@@erenjam Thanks Eren. To be honest, I somehow missed the segment where you talked about your presets the first time round. I'm always on the lookout for something that will give me the look and feel of the Leica M11, especially in camera, without the pricetag of the M11. Your prsets look like they might be a good starting point. Although I I didn't like what they were doing to the skin tones (a comon issue with some old films too). And the muted pastels that Leica has weren't there either. But, as I said, your presets miught be a very good place to start.
Dear Eren, there are many good English street photographers, and I also really like the content and photos on your channel. It's funny, that for a long time I too only used the XF35 1.4 for street photography. I've also owned the XF56 1.2 for a while, and I'm totally addicted to this look. What you describe, quality, appearance, I can confirm 100%. Good times for you on the streets of the world ;-)) Best regards from Germany, Dirk
Nice video. I agree with you about shooting with a longer lens, which seems to be looked down upon by a lot of street photographers. I usually use a Canon 85 mm f/2 or Olympus 45 mm f/1.8 (which is a 90 mm when converted to full frame) depending on which camera system I am using. I agree, the 85 -90 mm focal length gives you different opportunities and different types of shots which I prefer.
Both are great options, it comes down to what type of photography you'er going to do. If you'll be shooting in the rain and are a faster pace photographer then go for the 50, the 56 is slower, worse AF but the images will look nicer, not to say the 50mm doesn't take great looking photos!
It is kind of a heavy lens to carry around on the street, noticeably so when compared to the f1.4 lenses. But I'm with you -- I've really enjoyed the pictures I've taken from the 56mm f1.2
Ah cool: great shots! Yeah: a bit weird...I bought this lens for portraits, and then covid happened. Ended up using it mostly for street. And it's really cool at that.
I fully agree with you concerning focal length. I love shooting with the 2,0/50mm but thinking absolut a faster lens. That’s where the 56mm comes in - unfortunately I never tested it so far.

A good episode, worth the extra TLC. 👍
@@dungbeetle. 🙏🏼
Great to see the original XF 56mm F1.4 getting some love. Nice that you opted for this version rather than the newer one. Beautiful shots too
Thank Paul!

It's a great lens, been using it all the time recently. And yep! best thing about the new lenses being released is the older ones price dropping :D
Snap, same! Got all 3!
More i see the photos, more i know this lens has its authentic soul. Ty for this inspirational video brother.
yeah this lens absolutely crushes. love it so much. i typically am not a 50 shooter on aps-c but there is something about how this lens renders light and faces that i just love
Totally agree !
nice video eren! the video quality seems different (and much better) in that video. did you change anything in your setup recently?
Thank you bro, experimenting with some changes at the moment, new lighting setup and export process too
Another great video! 😍 It’s my favourite lens. Especially for street photography at night.
Huge thanks, and yep, absolutely love using this lens at night too
One of my faves and the 35mm f/1.4. Your images are lovely! Bravo!
Good comparison, thank you! Nice to see we share some of the same stamping grounds 🙂 I've often used the 50mm f2 for street photography and am almost certainly getting this lens after my research.
🙏🏼🙏🏼 thank you! Been using the 56 pretty much every single day since getting it, really good lens

Thank you! I have the regular 56 1.2
@@erenjam thanks. Yea I find out the other one is the modern update of it... cheers

Big thanks bro! still working things out on the sound and studio setup. And yeah, shooting street at 56mm is 🔥
I’m glad you said so. I thought I was losing my mind, or stuck in a Groundhog Day-like loop! 😂
😂😂 apologies for the confusion caused!
I use 56mm f/1.4 on Sony a6600 and it's one of my favorite focal lengths for street shots on crop sensor. f/1.2 on Fuji looks amazing. Great shots!
🙌🏼 didn't realise Sony apse range had a 56mm, as you said, great option for street 📸

Nice Vid mate and love your pics👍🏽
Thank you for the informative video...
Your night photos are simply Superb!!!
Huge thanks Brian!

as long as the place is well lit the 56 does pretty well, gets a big inconsistent focusing on subjects far away at night
Oh didn’t know that. During all occasions I had quiet good lightning and even used a flash once. I’ll try to push the lens to it’s limits next time :-)
Wow! Amazing shots! Love them🖤❤🖤
🙏🏼🙏🏼
A few of your shots reminded me of the legendary Saul Leiter, and it's no coincidence that he often used a telephoto lens for his street photography.
Hello Eren. What SD card do you recommend for the fujifilm xt4? To make 4k video. I will use the camera quite a bit on video.
LExar pro (gold one)
What recipe were you using for these photos? THere definitely seems to be a strong shift towards the reds and oranges.
I don't really use the simulations that often, mostly shoot Raw then edit using my preset pack

Best portrait lens I own!!!

I love my 35mm 1.4 lens as well as the “old” 56mm 1.2. I’ve had the 35mm for 8 years now.
As an xpro user I trust your opinion more than others.
These are going cheapish and would make a nice trilogy of 18f2 351.4 561.2
Great review.
In a past video you concluded that you’d pick the 50mm F2 over the 56 1.2. Do you still hold the same opinion?
Especially considering that the difference is only $150 or so dollars

Thank you for making this video! Is it possible to shoot this lens in zone focus?
you can, but the old 23 1.4 and 16 1.4 have focus scales which make it much easier to zone focus
Do you use any diffusion filters on this lens?
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🥊
Unbelievable photographs
It is kind of a heavy lens to carry around on the street, noticeably so when compared to the f1.4 lenses. But I'm with you -- I've really enjoyed the pictures I've taken from the 56mm f1.2
fortunately its really easy to hold, pretty much use to to hold the whole camera when its being used
Ah cool: great shots! Yeah: a bit weird...I bought this lens for portraits, and then covid happened. Ended up using it mostly for street. And it's really cool at that.

I love the 85mm focal length for street. Great video and great images
Thank you!
Re-watching again 😎💪
Huge thanks Jason! 🙌🏼
I prefer the Sigma 56mm F1.4 lens Far cheaper and faster focus, nice bokah too. Small size and light, perfect for street, also have the Fuji 35 f2.0.
Thanks!
Thank you for the support, really appreciate it 🙏🏼🧿!!
Thx for reupload
🙏🏼
why rarely upload on pov street 😁🙏🏻
One will be coming very soon 👀
Please please don't throw that lens or any lens in your future videos😅😅 it's a bit uneasy to see that.😓😓
Отличные фотографии!
Huge thanks!
