@@ConorRocksYT agreed !!! A lot of people don't know sh*t, they just turn knobs....with HO pups I barely crack the dirt as my tone gets flubby and bonked out fast. The sd'1 and ds-1 weren't designed with HO pups in mind imho 🤟🤟🤟🤟
08/16/2023: I have tried it on many solidstate amps and it is really poor sounding dull pedal. I did not get any of the sounds you got. I heard one UA-cam review say it must be used in a tube amp. What do you think?
Thanks for your question! 😊 I actually recorded all of these clips using amp modelling software on my PC! Here's my thoughts: I think the trick to using this pedal is to keep whatever amp you're using very dry , rolling back the treble and boosting the mids. With the pedal itself, keep the tone low. Putting it anywhere past 1 o'clock is way too much. It sounds too gritty and brittle. If I had to bet, I think "it sounding better through a tube amp" might be people driving their amp harder alongside using this pedal and helping to warm some of the brittleness! (Just a guess!). From memory, I think I recorded most (if not all) of these clips using the neck pickup, which will also help smooth some of the sharpness out!
Awesome Vid Conor! You mentioned gain staging. Do you have a video showing how to properly do it? I always find it hard to balance my ds1 with my amp volume and my guitar volume.
Thank you! I don't as it goes, but there's some good ones on UA-cam 😄 If it helps, I just set my amp to the volume I like, then I adjust my DS-1's volume, turning the pedal off and on, until they match!
After buying it and selling it 1 million fucking times I finally bought another one and I literally just realized that you could chop out the D4 and D5 diodes and wakes up the pedal.
I was wondering, im kinda dumb when it comes to stuff like this but i want to buy this pedal, do i Just use normal cable like the one i use to plug my guitar?
No worries! Yes, its the same cable but you'll need two - one to connect the pedal to your guitar, and another to connect the pedal to your amp. I've got a video explaining how to set up and use it here: ua-cam.com/video/zS3FXKmOd7o/v-deo.html

My ds1 sat on a shelf for years now its one of my favorite pedals my only problem is I wish the knobs were the same as the sd1
I agree - I'm sure there's a reason for the change, but I really don't like the tiny level control!

I just ordered one today. I think it is what my Marshall Superlead needs instead of a Tube Screamer.
That's great, it's a really solid pedal - enjoy!
how did it sound on the Marshall?
@@marcosiification I'm not thrilled with it just yet. It isn't for the Superlead. I'm seeing how it goes with my Super Reverb.
@@fullclipaudio how did it sound on the Fender?
@@stefannita3439 As you'd expect. If I did a New Wave band or I found myself in Devo then that is the pedal I'd use on my Super Reverb.

1 millionth time's the charm! That sound like an interesting mod, I'll have a listen.

I use an os2 as a professional guitarist...defnitely love it and love Boss
I've never tried an OS2 - but it looks interesting! I'll have to give it a go someday. I agree - Boss make great pedals.
@@ConorRocksYT Yeah works great and you can add a lot of sustain to any od range. I use it for the solo parts
@@karmad3269 sounds good, I'll keep an eye out for one!
I still call them “Roland” and have been through 4 of them.
Wow, you must have really put them to work!
Ds2 fica mais parecido
