@@astra7291 same here, but with my quality wings 757 freighters! I flew quite a bit past few nights, stable as a rock and not a single crash like buggy msfs2020!! I'm actually thinking of deleting it now and wait till it matures.. and stick to p3d since I have so much addons for it already. This is my go to now!!
If you don't have a flight gear, you can always try with a xbox 360 joypad... it works!
Id substitute vattastic with Vatspy, and add PFPX and TOPCAT.

I installed the sim today on my external D-Drive however, the sim also installed itself on my C-drive all the scenery and aircraft, will eat up the space on my computer!
What can I do to get the whole sim on my D-drive, and open the sim from my D-drive instead of my C-drive?

The aircraft navigational lights don't work on many of my aircraft just big blooms of colored lights show, taking up the entire cockpit it's really annoying! Can this be fixed if yes how would I go about doing this?.... Also, I'm using the hotasx52 throttle and joystick it's calibrated and showing in the drop-down menu, when I get into the aircraft the throttle cannot move the aircraft.
The drop-down menu says mouse-drag instead of Hotas x52, why did it switch over, how can I get it to stay on Hotasx52 to control the throttle?
Really enjoyed this in fact it made me review my own set up; can you / have you done the same for XP11.5 or do you know of one?

Thanks for the amazing tutorial...Just one question, Can "Chase Plane" be a substitute for setting up P3D views and camera's? Using my Logitech Extreme 3D Pro and new to Windows and P3D QW 787 coming from X-Plane 11 (ToLiss A321) where I am on a Mac and much more at home. I so appreciate the detail you put into your tutorials, great Job...Maybe a tutorial on Navigating w/ views & cameras in the cockpit with joystick and P3D settings/offering would be a popular video for newbies like me...Thanks again for all you do...

Excellent video, I’ve been using P3D for a few years now but if you don’t mind me asking, why do you recommend REX 4 Texture Direct instead of the newer Sky Force? Is there a reason for it that I’ve overlooked? I own both so I’m curious if I missed something.
Michael Freitas all I had footage and experience with honestly. I think I’ll put a slash on the web page to recommend both. I just wanted to get the idea of Rex out there at least.

Correct, and you can turn it off in the settings I think. Can’t remember now but if not, it’s still very small and you save $140.

Raven Neo it has AI aircraft that taxi and fly around. But if you mean AI that flys your plane no.

Hello can anyone share tips on how to do circuit patterns in prepar3d? Like right im now im timing my aircraft from threshold to turn base, like is there a way to "look behind" to determine where to base turn or can i just understand what you guys do to turn base? I remember in my cpl training in commercial airports I'd use 45 degrees and 1.5 miles distance to turn base, I'm just wondering what do you guys do?

Can you use FSX addon aircraft into P3D?...Or must you only use payware aircraft and scenery?

A lot of FSX aircraft are available for P3D but you have to purchase them separately. It’s better than MSFS as far as available study aircraft, but the default scenery, aircraft, and weathers are miles behind. You can make those areas much better but $$$
so academic only has an extra watermark and no other reduced options?

Yes, some are missing but the app FSUIPC picks up where the default P3D control UI lacks.
What do you get in the $10 one?
It's a sdk version, so just for developing. This isn't the game and it's payed monthly

Hi! I have fsx but im thinking about moving to p3d. Luckily i havent bought any payware mod or addon for fsx so i wont lose much money, but should i do it?
What kind of planes do you like flying. P3D v5 is great. But depending on your PC and planes you like to fly you might want to try XP11 or MSFS too.
@@TheFlightSimDeck well my pc is not the best so thats why i have been using fsx because it can run x plane 11 but not so smoothly and with mfs it runs pretty bad so thats why i have been thinking p3d because it isnt so outdated like fsx and i like flying passenger planes
After the setup is done where do you go to bring up the sim?
If it didn’t created a desktop shortcut you should be able to use the Windows search bar (bottom left). Type Prepar3D and it should come up. If not, search installed programs and make sure it’s in the list there.
Hi Patrick, I am a current A320 pilot looking for the best A320 sim for practicing different flight regimes such as A floor, alternate law etc and going through ecams. I know nothing about sims and would like a recommendation on a computer to run P3D on. Also the main thing I need is an A320 that behaves as exact as the real airplane does.

Hi Jeff, very exciting! If you go the Prepar3D route, the FSLabs A320 is hands down the best. For years this was THE best study level A320 in all of flight sim. www.flightsimlabs.com/index.php/a3xx-master-series-a320-3/
On X-Plane 12 the Tolis A319/21 is the best on that platform.
But during last year on Microsoft Flight Simulator, a developer named Fenix released and A320, and it seems Airbus pilots agree this is the one now. I could geek out all day telling you about the level of detail they go into.
If you have a couple of hours to spare, these gentlemen invited an A320 captain on their podcast to discuss why the Fenix is arguably the best rendition of an A320 ever created. He said it's letting him practice things he hasn't done since his check ride days. Happy to answer any questions you have. agreed with above. fenix a320. the ecams in particular are real & from airbus. study-level. the entire aircraft really.

Yes, which you can turn off the watermark. Basically they want you to pay $200 but if you’re a student it’s $60. That’s the only difference is the price.

Whats so different between this and FSX2006?
For versions P3D v1-3 not much had changed. After v5 the environment, clouds, lighting, performance got way better. Also a lot of planes have come out for it that are not available for FSX.
Does V 5.0 come with F35?
Yes it does. Has been since v3 I think.

No FSX is a different program. Its 32bit.

I crop it out of frame. It’s always at the top so easy to do.

Hi Andrew, yes this method still applies. We’re at P3D v5.3 now. Still has the same license packages.

Have to say, it works well! I'm in the process of migrating things over, but I have to say so far so good. Beats all FSX editions. Clearly not a patch on the latest Microsoft sim, but it'll do for me and it's far cheaper! And I don't need to be online. Thanks again!

Thank you for video, but, but, but why are you going so fast with the mouse? This is a "show you how," and I could not keep up with you. It would help greatly if you would take your time
with the mouse moves especially in the beginning of video. I paused and went back to understand the click with the mouse but did not help much.
How can I check my Frame rate?
I think it’s Shift + Z. If not you can search in the key assignments for “Coordinates/frame rate (cycle)” and map it. Also if you have an Nvidia card you can turn on an fps counter in the GeForce Experience app. It will show the number in the corner you pick.

how does this sim run in VR? I'm guessing most of the scenery in this video are payware?
The opening footage was default but the rest is mostly payware. It runs OK in VR. You have to have the right scenery. There is a lot of old stuff out there that just isn't optimized well at all.

Academic is for students. Not specifically for flying but for anyone attending an actual education program of some sort. But regardless, everyone buys the academic one.
