It was really nice to see so many governments and journalists becoming health professionals overnight with a single answer to a complex virus.
What was even more ridiculous was all the truck drivers, labour workers, and other blue collar types, educating us all with their deep insights into virology.

I don't want to post another comment but I just had to say that I lost my wife of 32 yrs. to COVID-19 and although we are putting it behind us, many will never know how many of us want to put our arms around our loved ones and there's nobody there to love anymore.

People in the US were presented with the concept that the restrictions/precautions were taking away their freedom. Without that message, maybe people would have slowed down and adhered to the guidelines, and we might have been able to conquer the bug in a couple months. Instead, our movement propagated the bug.

I have 10 people in my house we wore a mask N 95 masks with a cloth an a filter. Worked went to school and none of us got Covid mask work.
I was a school bus driver during Covid and when things reopened I made sure that I always had a mask on. In addition I wore a baseball cap so as kids climbed up the stairs and stood over me their little germs wouldn’t float down and land in the mucus membranes of my eyes. Guess who didn’t get sick…
And school kids are the absolute worst for getting sick and spreading it around to everyone! From now on even during flu season you’re going to be seeing me in a mask when I go out in public. You do you. I’ll do me.
Me too! 😂 I work in a germy grocery store. Not just Covid I'm avoiding. I haven't gotten any flu, stomach bug, or Covid because I wear a mask at work. I wear it less often out of the house except grocery stores and the doctor's office. I 100% hear you on the little ones who just let it all out! I used to teach children. I think I got everything under the sun before this pandemic.
I work at a middle school and I've gotten sick more often thanks to those walking talking petri dishes.

One small benefit is that people with flu etc can wear a mask out to prevent their spread without being ostracized. In some Asian countries you see people wearing masks quite often. It's because they have a slight cold or whatever and are limiting the spread as best they can. It's normalized and it's good for your community.
The vaccine ruined my life from the first shot, causing severe edema amounting to 4 sizes larger in 2 days after each shot. I'm high risk because of a genetic kidney disorder so my doctors insisted. I haven’t had any success in getting it to go away and frequently can't walk now. I'd love a solution to that. I took all precautions and this was my reward! I pray for all who had negative reactions

I'd like to see some serious reporting on the millions of people who were struck with critical COVID in early 2020 who once had productive lives and 3 years later are still sick. This is not being reported enough, and these families have been left on the battlefield to fend for themselves after a health and financial catastrophe. Nobody cares enough to report this? We all want to know about them and also about the families whose parents / financial providers died of covid. Those poor kids, how are they doing?

The hospital I worked out wasn’t overrun. There were no cooler trucks for bodies. In fact the nurses were given unemployment because we quit doing surgeries.
Yours is a story I have heard from several health professionals. I’ve also seen footage of entire hospital wards being decommissioned. I’m sure some hospital departments were busy, but they need not have been if early treatments had have been widely available.

I had Covid before it was announced. I didn't wear a mask when I didn't have to, and my job caused me to come into contact with the germs of around 20,000 people per day 6 days a week. I was also smoking 2 packs of cigarettes per 3 days when I did get it.

I don't mean to downplay the seriousness of Covid by saying this but it truly was a golden gift served on a platter to Trump. It was a chance to show he could actually be a leader just before the election. All he had to do was sit back, listen to the experts, and support them. You are correct. There is little doubt now that it is not just whether you get infected, but how many viral particles get in your airways and how deep they get in your lungs. Below a certain threshold (speculated to be about one million viral particles) you won't get a clinical infection, there is just too little agent to overwhelm primary defences. Exposure to larger doses of virus will cause increasing severity of infection with very large doses deep in the lungs likely to be life threatening.
Masks work by reducing the viral load you get exposed to, particularly the amount of the shit that gets deep in your lungs. When it comes to Covid the less virus you are exposed to the better.

The problem I had was when we were told that bus drivers and other essential workers Didn’t need masks so the medical people could have them. It was like sacrificing some people to save others.
But it made sense at the beginning because of the lack of masks. Doctors and nurses were VERY important for all the people getting sick.

That is the only thing people will see and remember so the next time no one will wear one. I STILL wear a mask in the grocery store I work at because there are quite a number of people coming in sick - there is a cold floating around right now. I have asthma and I wear it correctly for 5 hours in my shift. So far, I have not had Covid, but I cannot say that about my friends and family. Will I get it? Probably because I'm not wearing a mask everywhere I go now except grocery stores and the doctor's office. I have not had any illness since mid 2019. I'd say masks work which he had to clarify on this show as 85-90% effective. But it doesn't sound like it was stated that way in the article though... (Disclaimer: I haven't read it).

A person was meeting with me while actively coughing, but was wearing his mask. He phoned me later saying that he has COVID. I never got sick.

I remember because my late husband was in a nursing home and I had to tell him I couldn't visit for a week. I thank God every day that he died peacefully in my arms in October 2019.
