It's funny how much of a comeback this character has had in the last decade, from cameos in the Archie comics to being playable in both Sonic Runners and Sonic Forces: Speed Battle, and now having two pieces of merch in the form of his first plush toy and first action figure. Personally, as a fan of this character I hope we continue to see him reappear in various Sonic media, but not to the point where he becomes a full-on mainstay, his still "niche" status to me is what keeps him interesting and makes the times when he does show up all the more special.
Seeing Jakks make a Mephiles figure shows how dedicated they are to making figures of even the most obscure characters. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see Bean and Bark sooner or later. And yes, Sega was very restrictive on how Mephiles was used in the Archie comics. It’s funny how those comics went all over the place with its continuity and characters, yet Sega made it clear that certain characters like Mephiles, Black Doom, and Eggman Nega were off limits.
First we got Infinite, and now we got Mephiles. He is a character that not many fans were expecting to be made into a figure. That was a surprise, wasn’t it?
I think it's safe to say Jakks is now the best toyline Sonic has ever had. Only competition was Jawzares and I'm fairly sure most of the bases there have now been covered and more.
Somehow, Jakks keeps surprising me with the characters that they're willing to include in this line. Even after they made Omega, Chaos, Cream, Jet, Blaze, etc., I was still surprised to see that they were making a Mephiles. Cannot wait to get him. I ordered him on Amazon.
Sonic ‘06 wasn’t wiped from the face of Mobius. As a wise man once said, “Everything is canon” also wouldn’t it be cool if we got a horror themed wave? We could get Majin Sonic, Tails Doll, and Sonic .EXE (there’s a gif of him Sega released, they can make it happen). Mecha Sonic MK2 would be cool to round out the wave, with a new master emerald with pegs to stand on.
SonicandtheBeansShow came up with a pretty cool idea; if you rotate his legs all the way, they actually resemble his look in the game more closely! I still think he's great, but that's food for thought. =)

I'm hoping for a 2.5 inch Mephiles and Infinite if not I'll just repaint Metal Sonic and Mecha Sonic.
