I like it. He stayed true to the song but didn't go crazy with the links, riffs, and runs. It really sounds like it was originally arranged that way. Sounded amazing.
Dude, I LOVE how you are sharing the drummers' stories, their world, their approach. And damn you have such creative ideas for the songs and for the challenges!! I came to this channel because of the delight of drumming, but first I just thought the concept is just a nice variation of what drumeo was doing, but I was so wrong! While, of course, still about drumming, you took it to such a beautiful new territory! I love it! Keep up this awesomeness!!! Thanks for doing this work for the drummer community!! And C.J., man!!! This was awesome!
The timing of the subscribe ding with the muted f-word (on the explicit version) was brilliant. Also, those were some slick fills. And I don't know if it's you or CJ who did the keyshifts but those were fire. ETA: ...and I got to the part where CJ mentions doing the keyshifts. That's awesome.
For each of the choruses, he added his flavour on them with the hihat patterns. Make it his especially the chorus after the 2nd verse🔥. Love this arrangement plus the key change at the end!!! This deserves to be played live on her tour. Well done CJ 🤝🏿
Drum recommendations: Coheed and Cambria, Tool, Polyphia, Thank You Scientist, Rush,Tesseract. There are some challenging ones. As a drummer, these are some of my favorites to try and learn.
Love the track to ima be jamming on it as my practice session with some cushions and the sofa bc I can't use my electric drumset since my dad put it in the shed (like 4 months ago) and ever since the I couldn't play on it. 😭😭 (BTW i am a 11 Yr Old Drummer that's been in love and been playing drums for over 9 yrs now and I'm grateful to have known about this majestic instrument from all the drummers around and on yt including of course CJ WATKINS!! Let's appreciate him in the comment down below! 🎉☺️
You guys will definitely be hitting 50k subs soon, I’m surprised y’all don’t have at least a mil with the quality of the content you guys produce, KEEP GOING!🙏🔥
@itzstikz4908 have you ever watched the history of gospel music? The drummers may play "funkier" now, but that's not how it always was. Matter of fact, some countries don't play funk patterns with their gospel music even though they sing the same songs. In some parts of Africa, they only play "African grooves." (So I don't have to name them)
He made that thing so much more interesting. The song is so boring originally it’s just produced super well so it’s sonically pleasing. My man here was missed in that room when they made the original. Dude brought it so far up.
No offense, this video could be better if you guys invite gospel band instead of just a drummer. I like to see how gospel musicians arranging a music together.
I like it. He stayed true to the song but didn't go crazy with the links, riffs, and runs. It really sounds like it was originally arranged that way. Sounded amazing.
Boyyyy when he went up I took off 🏃🏾♂️💨
He's going to be a very busy guy with the music work headed his way now. That was killer CJ
My man was deep in the pocket. Nothing like live music. Great job.💯
Somebody send this to the artist so she could hire him for a live show!!!!
When he took out the vocals, it was MOVING. Felt very The 1975..
Love the fills and off beats, the key changes were great.
cj drum pro is mad talented! The arrangement was fire 🔥 kudos for keeping the originality and giving a twist with the key changes

His hi-hat work was subtle and top notch!
you made that more. Love it
Arrangement was sick and the key changes felt right! My only wish was for the rhythm section to really highlight the synth hook with some hits
i thought the same!
This was so raw!

Man, he pocketed the pocket like how a pocket would pocket itself. Damn! Good stuff👏
A common misconception about live arrangements is that it needs a lot of hits. It doesn't need to have hits. It just need to hit right.
Those key changes took me to that other place 🔥
I love this arrangement! I need it on Spotify ASAP lol
Facts!
This is Double Shot Espresso ☕️🔥
That gospel influence came out hard at the end!!
Damn CJ you’re loved 🥰
I wasn’t expecting the key changes fr

This was more like an awesome audition for her touring band.
He made that thing so much more interesting. The song is so boring originally it’s just produced super well so it’s sonically pleasing. My man here was missed in that room when they made the original. Dude brought it so far up.
