Thanks for the great vintage footage. I'm always searching for the Bellino brothers 32 ford silver C/A sponsored by Jackshaw Chevrolet. Rocky and Mike Bellino from Cleveland won the 1962 Nationals in Pomona. Rocky eventually became head of R&D for Mr. Gasket. Following his retirement several years ago he passed away. Thanks again!
In Spring of '63 my older brother was friends with a guy who raced his new '63 406 Ford 385 H.P..... and that's what we rode there in. The movie shows the place as it was. The pits were shaded by trees. A rail dragster wrecked and rolled not far from where we watched.
Great film Rick, loved Dragway 42, I can still hear those rails, gassers, and stockers in my head, that is myself and friend Mike on the fence 2:35, and remember that 8mm next to my head! The "Flintstone Flyer" Packard was my favorite, thank you!
+Charles LaNasa In the early 60s, the wildest Drive-In scene was in Akron, Ohio, The Flame. The cars would line up according to type.. nights were awesome. I have looked everywhere for footage or photos, barely a mention of the place. Know anybody who might have a clue where to find footage or photos?
I can't get a good look at the very last car in this film...do you know which one it was? Awesome video...BTW...looking for old videos of my father, Ray Gene Hamilton...thank you!
