Ik I'm late but this seems to be the only video for this type of unit as all the other ones are a similar screen but not the same connection/electronics in the back. I've been doing research on this and the issues people are having and the premium sound system options (if you have an SI you have premium sound) then you have an amp in the car, it's located on the harness to the left of your main power harness. It's the light grey/bluish one in the top left looking from the back. The problem is that this unit does not have a "blue wire" that most people are talking about, that is a DIFFERENT unit made by a different company. I'm currently in the process of trying to find a wiring diagram for this unit so that I can find out how to get power to that cable from the head unit but as there is now extra wires or slots in the main harness this product is looking like a bust unless someone knows a power out pin in one of the un-used connection slots on the back of the head. If you know one please tell me cause I don't want to get a different unit.
Someone liked my comment so I guess I'll explain what happened. You need to splice that blue grey wire into your red wire on your main harness *WITHOUT* rerouting the wire. So, what I mean is, you need to turn that blue/grey wire and the car side harness red wire into 1 wire and connect it to the red wire on the unit side. This will not fix the premium sound system issue with the speakers. This is only fixed with changing ALL speaker wires into RCA connections. If you have questions respond to this message and I'll try to help the best I can
To clarify, splicing the wire will cause the system to work, the RCA connector fix will fix the amp staying on and causing bleedthrough from the radio and static
I'm say it, i have one. Ill likely switch back to stock because the sound quality isn't great, sometimes it doesn't turn on at all so i have to take the keys out and restart the car for it to turn on, and the main thing i wanted it for was gps navigation and it never actually gets my location. The company hasn't released any updates in a long time and likely won't, the update you need you have to get off some obscure website, transfer it into a usb then transfer it to the radio, go figure it didn't help mine
One thing I noticed is there is no mention of connection of the passenger airbag switch. I believe there is a connection at the top of the radio. But it cannot reach. I plan to cut the switch and extend the wire I will update.
So your link is broken. Could you provide a new link to the radio used or a brand name or something to go off of. I'm skeptical of buying a random one off Amazon and I'm not prepared to spend 400 on the idoing model
I ended up going with the eonon branded one just in case anyone reading this has a similar question. I went with that one bc I am not locked into staying with a honda civic if I decide to get a new car I can take it with me bc it has a double din base with a separate screen 10.1 in. I went with the snapdragon 12 6gb ram one and it runs super smooth 👌 cost about 320 for me but I think that was sale price, non sale price is probably 380 I think.
I have the same exact unit and everything works except FM radio. I get no stations. And I plugged in the antenna just like you did. Does the antenna on the other side to be hooked up to something?
I know I’m late on the comments but I could seem to get the right side of the radio flushed to the dash. I followed your instructions but it just won’t get flush

@@hu3tw0 sorry for the late response. It went well. I followed these steps and had it done within like 40 minutes. I will say pay a little extra and get a good radio system. I felt like I got what I paid for with the cheap one.
I installed a very similar radio in my 2009 ex. However, on volume 1 my car is producing the equivalent volume to what is supposed to be at least the stock volume of 7. Not exactly sure what I am supposed to do about that as the stock amp isn’t really connected to the radio anymore and the issue isn’t very obvious.
I hate that part, it's either i can listen to music or have a conversation with my passenger. Im going back to stock and installing one of those Bluetooth adapters
Hi! Did your 2 screws under the radio go back in with the aftermarket head unit? I just installed mine and there’s no way it would work there. Without them it seems a bit shaky to me.

I bought a civic with this same radio already installed but previous owner said that after installing it there was no sound, screen works but no sound no static or anything.
Cruise control works still. My civic didn’t come with the radio controls on the steering wheel. However, I added radio controls recently and they do not work. After some reading on forums, it seems you need a hondata or other programmer to get the controls to work if your civic did not come with radio controls from factory. There is a section in the settings of the android radio that is used to set the controls, so you could try that first.
