    Great video, thank you for taking the time to share this, I am brand new to kegging and will be making one of these at the weekend, in the meantime I will be watching more of your videos! Cheers, Geoff

      +geffthebricky G'day, it's a really handy little tool, I use it for all sorts of things in the brewery. These days, at least here in Australia you can buy a Keg post with thread already attached. kegking.com.au/ball-lock-post-with-1-4-inch-bulkhead-assembly-liquid.html that might make it easier to make. Cheers!

    Hi gash ,great project I have looked for the adapter on ebay, that you have but can only get one from the United Kingdom . could you tell me where you got yours from .

      +John Watson there are easier adapters been produced since I made this video. This one comes with thread so easier to find something to fit kegking.com.au/ball-lock-post-with-1-4-inch-bulkhead-assembly-liquid.html or this can be used even easier! kegking.com.au/carbonation-cap-line-cleaning-cap-counter-pressure-filler.html Cheers mate!

    i am a newbie but your vids are very helpful to me.You always think so econmicaly, I love it! Q: Do you hv a vid on how to build "hop stopper" or a stainless steel mesh basket to fit in your cooker>It is rather helpful in eliminating all the spent grains or adding in hops & such.I w/subscribe & like.Keep on with it,Sir..the women love you in the USA. Respectfully, Margo

    • @HomeBrewNetwork
      @HomeBrewNetwork  9 років тому

      Margo Fr Thank you for your kind words! I don't have a video at the moment for a stainless steel 'Hop Stopper' I have a few bits and pieces laying around for that purpose but haven't got to it. I normally just use a grain or paint strainer bag and bulldog clamp it to the side of the pot. I have a video coming up soon for a hop spider made from left overs of stainless but again it uses a grain bag to hold the hops. Thank you for watching! Let me know if you ever want to know anything about my videos etc. Cheers!

      I guess that is what it is called a "Hop Spider" that's it! there are 3 wires/spikes(?) affixed somehow on some kind of white plumbing part.I w/keep a look out, and learning more from you. i already learned those painter's bag are a whole cheaper than the ones at the Brew Stores.Thanks for your response. Respectfully, Margo

    Hi Gash, great vid! i have been cruising through all of your content lately as i am about to dive into the home brew world. sorry if you have already answered this but in the video you say the beer lines should be cleaned weekly, i assume that's on the ones attached to the keg and being used to pour the beer, my question is how do you store your unused lines do you fill them with starsan and leave them or sanitise them blow them out with Co2?

    • @HomeBrewNetwork
      @HomeBrewNetwork  4 роки тому

      Yeah you can leave star san in them if you want too, you could blow the star san out with CO2 as well, either way. Most people dont clean their lines weekly, although we really should, most will go a whole keg or two before doing them, but its just being lazy lol Cheers!
      and by the way, you can just use a Carbonation Cap these days, you dont have to mess around with all those fittings, just a carb cap, a clamp and the pressure sprayer. Cheers!

    • @martinashlin
      @martinashlin 4 роки тому

      thanks mate, I have a couple of carbonation caps and a tee piece coming which i thought with a 2L bottle would make a good line cleaner. but i think i will grab a sprayer to save on gas. Cheers mate!
      Keep up the good work!!

    • @HomeBrewNetwork
      @HomeBrewNetwork  6 років тому

      I still use mine all the time for many things, but much easier to make these days because this video was made before these were out, use the pump bottle and just stick one of these on the end. Cheers! keg-king.com.au/carbonation-cap-line-cleaning-cap-counter-pressure-filler.html

    Great Video About the fitting this is what i found on ebay, is " Brass Fitting 9/16 JIC-1/4 BSPT (03-007-J0904)" this the correct one? I just notice its BSPT where the one you got said TBSP or was that a type O? Cheers love your videos. thanks

    • @HomeBrewNetwork
      @HomeBrewNetwork  6 років тому

      Since this video was recorded there is a new fitting that makes this much easier. You can use one of these ua-cam.com/video/CCrfp8ha9Dw/v-deo.html they are available every where these days, make sure you get the one with the 'tail' Cheers!

    • @HomeBrewNetwork
      @HomeBrewNetwork  6 років тому

      put that on the hose of the pressure cleaner

    • @goldenbolox1
      @goldenbolox1 6 років тому

      Yeah I do have one of those and connected it all up and nothing! no liquid wouldn't come out of the end after pressurising the sprayer. all was connected correctly not rocket science, connected to the keg. nothing. Even pressed in the popit with a screwdriver and no liquid. When I disconnected the hose from the tail it came gushing out of the hose. Any ideas? I've used this thing to fill PET bottles for 6 months or so. Very frustrated so decided to just make one of your build ideas.
      Thanks for you imput Gash

    • @HomeBrewNetwork
      @HomeBrewNetwork  6 років тому

      hmm interesting, must be your Quick Disconnects on your beer lines not pushing the poppet down enough? Thats weird!

    • @goldenbolox1
      @goldenbolox1 6 років тому

      Yes something's doesn't add up, as i said earlier even if i push it with a screwdriver the liquid doesn't come out. So i might have to purchase another one or build what you did originally that's why I wanted to make sure the part number was buying was correct.

    So is part 3 turning it into a mini party keg?

    • @HomeBrewNetwork
      @HomeBrewNetwork  10 років тому

      I nearly did that a few years ago :) but parts were expensive, only a little bit more for a second hand keg! One day I might try it if I have the parts spare! Cheers!

  • @ArizonaMMJ
    @ArizonaMMJ 7 років тому

    So I just bought all the parts and made this and it doesn't fit my keg at all. I don't have that type of mount for the top of my keg. It's all steel and had a pull in and out handle and then you twist.
    Any idea what else I can order to make this right??

    • @HomeBrewNetwork
      @HomeBrewNetwork  7 років тому

      I cant really help unless I know exactly what type of kegs you have. If you dont use corny keg fittings it isnt much use for you, saying that you can get Sanke keg couplers like this ae01.alicdn.com/kf/HTB1Au8tIXXXXXcPXpXXq6xXFXXXq/-font-b-Cornelius-b-font-Type-Ball-Lock-Post-for-font-b-Keg-b-font.jpg , but then you need quick disconnects on your lines.

    • @ArizonaMMJ
      @ArizonaMMJ 7 років тому

      Gash Slugg yea I have an American all steel coupler. I don't have any type of quick disconnect. I wish I knew this before hand. I spent a week waiting on the parts.

    • @HomeBrewNetwork
      @HomeBrewNetwork  7 років тому

      Sorry mate but there is no reference at all to sanke kegs in my video?? I would suggest modding yours or buying one with some form of disconnect as to making cleaning lines much easier, fairly important to clean your lines often. Unless you always have any empty keg that you can use but it can be a pain in the ass to to put cleaner in a keg just for cleaning lines. Cheers

    • @ArizonaMMJ
      @ArizonaMMJ 7 років тому

      Gash Slugg yea www.cornykeg.com has the conversion apparently for like $20. In gonna do that. Seems to be much simpler anyway

  • @smgri
    @smgri 5 років тому

    Gash you know I was trying to figure out how to connect to two corny keg connectors so i could make a continuous line so I could run cleaner through my kegerator lines . I searched but strangely they do not make a 2 post connector u can snap between beer lines,,,not sure why,,they have them for sankes . Any way your way might work . a 9/16 to 9/16 JIC union ...any thoughts ? I can not find them in SST..only aluminum or mild steel ...any thoughts on that setup ?

    • @HomeBrewNetwork
      @HomeBrewNetwork  5 років тому +1

      There is an easier way these days, but not that cheap, you can use a carbonation cap like this www.kegland.com.au/carbonation-line-cleaning-cap.html these werent around when I made this vid, and this would replace the mucking around with fittings. So you could use a couple of these and some line. There maybe be a other ways, umm maybe if you changed to john guest style fittings on the Quick Disconnects or the screw type, then you could probably get cheaper connecters for between the lines? I do mine separately so its not something I've thought about, mainly due to having to spend money I dont have lol Cheers!

    • @HomeBrewNetwork
      @HomeBrewNetwork  5 років тому

      ua-cam.com/video/CCrfp8ha9Dw/v-deo.html

    • @smgri
      @smgri 5 років тому

      yea that would work too I guess . I was just thinking a solid connection would be easiest ,,,but a hose connection between those caps would work too I assume . good idea though thanks ! I am not familiar with the John Guest style,,is that a down under thing or would they have that here in the states ? The screw types you mentioned I have not seen either . At least I do not think so .
      In commercial cleaning they always use couplers if they have a lot of kegs and they put jumpers on the tower so the cleaner is circulated in one long run with a pump for about 15 minutes . I was just trying to copy that system..its pretty efficient . Worse comes to worse I could do it one at a time,,,but I am that lazy that is why I was trying to make a half ass corny coupler...I am surprised that some company does not make a double ended corny coupler . I am sure I am not the only one who has been looking for something like that !!

    • @HomeBrewNetwork
      @HomeBrewNetwork  5 років тому

      John Guest are available all over the world, not sure on the origin, USA or UK I think, take a quick look at this video, he is an Australian but was just the first one that popped up in the search, so looks like you need the screw on QUick DIsconnects, and attach the JG fittings to that, but once done you can fairly easily disconnect them and use joiners to join your lines together, I'm not sure if thats much easier for you. ua-cam.com/video/x-FWlMy6M_4/v-deo.html

    • @HomeBrewNetwork
      @HomeBrewNetwork  5 років тому

      Although ignoring all that, I just found these www.kegerators.com/equipment/ball-lock-cleaning-post-jumper/ I didn't know they existed, never seen one, but I think thats what you're after?
