  • When we decided to revisit this Chateau Campsite we had no idea what was lurking 15 minutes away in the woods, but this time a fellow camper told us we just had to visit it. So we do.
We start off in the UK, hop on the Euro Tunnel in Folkestone and take our 5.5 tonne van over to France before stopping at a very handy campsite that's just 35 minutes from Calais. A short walk from the site is the imposing Blockhaus Eperlecques V2 Rocket Launch Site; the largest blockhouse in Europe and a must see for anyone interested in WW2 or history in general.
We also settle into van life in France, checking out the local areas and doing some much needed chores for the road.
This is the first in a series of vlogs, most of which will be a bit longer as we get into the swing of van life in France. We are planning on covering the longest (both in terms of time and distance) we have ever done in our 20 year old bus - so it should be great fun. Thanks for liking, subscribing and sharing any thoughts in the comments - we really appreciate it.
Places visited in this weeks van travel vlog:
The Euro Tunnel (you can see our more in depth video about how to travel the Euro tunnel here too: )
Chateau Du Gandspette is the campsite we stayed at
The eperclease blockhouse (La Blockhaus Eperlecques V2 Rocket Launch Site) is located 15 minutes from the campsite on foot. This was built in WW2 to manufacture oxygen and V2 rockets, it was a planned launch site for the rockets too - but the allies had other ideas. As you'll see in the video it's quite a sight.
Next week we are working our way along the coast, and cannot wait to share it with you. Please do subscribe and hit the bell so you can see it first: Subscribe: www.youtube.co...
