To lube the nipple threads, use a drop of penetrating oil on each. As the wheel spins on the road, centrifugal force will carry it through the threads. Do this at every oil change, and ping test/tighten your spokes at that time as well.
@@CameronNiemela need ur assistance, am new to spoke wheels, i got an aftermarket tubeless rim on a 2016 Africa Twin. 20 Spoke nipples are cracked on the rear rim out of 36. What could be the cause and whats the remedy?
Thanks. If you work your way around the wheel like I explained and go 1/4 turn at a time, there is no way the wheel will come out of true. I've used this method on hundreds of wheels and never had an issue. At some point I'll have a video out on how to true a wheel as well.
+ReVive Moto Parts Thanks, Will try it out later. I just send my wheels even if it's just for tightening. that's about to change. thanks a lot I appreciate it very much
What's your opinion on spoke covers/skins? Many say that they trap moisture and rust your spokes. Is it true for a bike that is ridden daily and gets washed regularly?
To be honest, I don't have any experience with spoke skins. But I do know spokes are nickel plated to protect from rust however many years of moisture would eventually corrode or rust the spokes I'd imagine.

Perfect timing. Was gonna tighten my spokes today lol

Helpful. Thank you.
great info. Wondering though if it's a fool proof method, I'm afraid that I might get my wheel untrue. Hate spending cash, prefer it by my side. lol

Glad I can help. There's quite a bit you can do on your own provided you invest in the right tools. Good luck!
nice tips, thanks bro
Appreciate it! Thanks for watching man
you are a true hero
do spokes have left handed threads?
If you use stainless spokes they will get work hardened if too loose and fracture. Keep them tuned.
thank u

Is your last name spelled Niemela or Niemelä
It needs to go on a wheel stand an use a dial indicator on the rim.
I made this video with consideration that not everyone has a wheel stand nor a dial. Thanks for watching though!
Why he say nipple then stop for a sec and like his lips

Okay bud, why don't you make your own video. I'd like to see what you can come up with.
