To people that don't understand what a demo is:
The demo is used to sell the instrumental to X company, lyrics and vocals are put on to give a general idea of the top-line melody and themes to be used. When X company buys the demo they'll change the lyrics, sometimes not sticking to the theme at all, sometimes sticking pretty closely.
Wait does that work for in-house producers? Because if I'm not mistaken in-house producers write the demo already sticking to the general theme, this songs produced by Kenzie, SM's in-house producer so they didn't but it since she produced it for SM specifically
@@joannakeshia8439 This song's instrumental was produced by Druski and Yoo Young-Jin. Yoo will be most likely credited as a producer for changes made to the instrumental after it was bought.
Then the demo lyrics were written by Andrew Scott and Opeia. After SM got the track Kenzie re-wrote the lyrics which is why all these people are credited with working on the track.
For real 100% in-house the process is mostly simple. Either in-house instrumental made and lyrics put over or lyrics first and then instrumental.

this version is about a one-sided relationship where the singer is frustrated and heartbroken by their significant other while RV's version is about a toxic relationship where they keep fighting and being against each other and yet still choosing to stick together despite that which essentially makes them both psychos for being together in the first place

People don’t seem to read descriptions anymore so here’s some important stuff to note:
- This is the OFFICIAL DEMO of Psycho, which leaked online. This is NOT a cover. Anybody who you see making covers of this song using these English lyrics are doing so because these are the OFFICIAL English lyrics. I see a lot of people thinking this is a cover made by me and one of those people even thought I “stole the lyrics” from someone who made an English cover of Psycho, without crediting them for the lyrics “they created” even though the lyrics are directly from the demo and not created by any UA-camrs.
- The singer is EJAE, which I state in the description AND at the beginning of the video. She is a Korean singer and songwriter who has worked on several kpop songs before. The FULL credits of everyone who worked on this song are in the description and have been since the day I posted this video.

I agree, I think RV's version sounds more full and they just fill your ear with every sounds that they make in each layer of the song. This version sounds great though, a chill kinda poppy vibe (if that makes sense). Both versions are great but I really prefer RV's version.
I think instead of the "NyQuil" line, using "never ending cycle" or something like that would've felt more like a smoother transition, but other than that, this song is a bop

I feel like, for the way Korean Culture is, Red Velvet and SM did good in choosing to make the song's focus more on how much the girl loves the other person even when they may have a toxic relationship (there were references, especially in the second verse)
But in terms of the actual meaning of 'psycho' and the pain of it, the demo definitely caught the toxicity more in terms of being a 'psycho-in-love' with all the haziness and the references of inner-confusion
(again, not trying to say that being psychotic just means crazy. there's more to it than that.)

To everyone telling me it's "Could've least waited" and "Tears are on my phone" please know that only reason you think those are the lyrics is because in MY original lyric video, I put those lyrics. Since my video was the first lyric video of the demo to be posted, the lyrics circulated UA-cam and everyone used them in their videos, covers, etc. After talking about it with my viewers and listening to the demo even more, we realized those are not the lyrics. On top of that, the singer of the demo, EJAE, confirmed on her Instagram that the lyric is “tears are almost gone”. Now that the full demo is out, I took the opportunity to make a full lyric video, not only with the new verses, but ALSO with lyric corrections. I hope that clears it up! Thanks for watching!

I like the lyrics of Red Velvet's version, it's a cute, fun song in spite of its dark meaning, yet the words of the demo hit me really differently. To me, it seems to portray unrequited love that has veered toward obsession to the point it eats you up, consumes your time. It's that ugly, raw side of you that you hate but you have to acknowledge at the end of the day.

With korean culture i don't think they will allow this kind of lyrics. Especially if the singer is idol who have a lot of young fans. South Korea is trying it best to fight suicide. I think, SM will never gonna release a song about sleeping pills and nyquil. The current lyrics is safer.

they don't need to, kpop is inspired by older western songs. Which is why westen producers like Akon say that kpop has an "outdated" sound, because it uses old english pop demos from 5-10 years ago lol
