*I have absolutely no idea about what i'll say* Do you consider it's feasible to create a plugin that will create the physics file, or at least the geometry part of it, based off a 3d model, given the correct naming convention is used on each part of said 3d model?. I like 3d modeling, but creating the physics aspect of a car seems daunting to me and beyond what my brain can do.. Using random physics is not the best practice... hence the question.. Thanks for the plugin!, updating Automation as i write..
I think it is feasible, yes. It would take a lot of work though; I find the idea as daunting as you :) I've opened a new discussion item on GitHub with your comment to make it easier to track the idea (github.com/zephyrj/engine-crane-exporter/discussions/3). I don't know enough about how the AC physics work myself to create anything good at the moment and I know nothing about 3D modelling. If the 3D modelling side of it is interesting to you would it be something you'd like to experiment with?
@@zephyrj I've been tinkering with the idea of photoscanning cars.. remeshing them for AC is not far fetch.. and recording the audio is not impossible either.. It would be slow for my time is limited tho..
Cool, sounds very interesting. Do you have any plans for potentially automating any processes? I was wondering if for something like the engine sounds it would be possible to use the FMOD api to create the bank files used by the cars in AC programmatically
To my knowledge there's no automating the audio recording.. Imo generated tones don't really hold up.. I hope Ange's engine simulator will solve this but for now there's no avoiding going out there with a microphone if you want something properly done.. As a matter of facts I was hoping Automation would have added a couple more options for engine creation for I'm trying to get good engine sound for a Super TC2000 mod wich used the RPE 2.7 v8 @10.500 rpm
@@cultivatedrice I think it is C:\Users\\AppData\Local\AutomationGame\Saved\UserData\CarSaveImport Replace your username. The engine will then appear in the engine designer of Automation and you can put it in a car to export
How could I miss this? Thanks for posting on the Automation Discord! Great work, can't wait to try it out :)
Thanks - hope you have some fun with it :)
Keep up the good work man!
I'll do my best :)
Youre amazing bro! I use engine crane almost everyday. It's one of the best mods to the game
Thanks, I really appreciate it. Enjoy!

i cant find the actual download for engine crane
Hi, you need to login to overtake (formerly racedepartment) to be able to download mods
If I had someone send me an engine file where should I save it to so that it reads in engine crane?
Just to clarify do you mean an Automation engine file that is exported from the engine designer or the .eng file that engine-crane creates?
@@zephyrj automation engine file
