- New England is full of these small, whole in the wall greasy spoons establishments. Full of local charm and flavor that comes from years of community support, hard work, and most importantly awesome food. The Clam Shack in Kennebunkport is exactly that! For years this roadside landmark has been dishing out wildly fresh fried clams to hungry locals and tourists alike. What many people don't know, is that they have one of the freshest lobster rolls in all of Maine! This is due mostly to the fact that they do all the cooking and prepping of their lobster on premises. The result, a fresh lobster roll, served with mayo on a buttered New England style hot dog roll. Learn more at TheClamShack.com. Big thanks to Holly Moore for the recommendation.
