I could watch the M3 POV's everyday and never get tired. They're all so fun to watch. Especially the Ricky's one, he was drifting it around the roundabout that was cool af.
Ik the torque converter on g80 is smoother for daily driving but I really wish they kept the dual clutch as the automatic transmission option like you said it makes the f80 feel so much more aggressive which is what I want in an m car
Best way to test, and drive this car imo is in Sport throttle, comfort suspension, comfort steering. The non-comfort settings are too harsh for normal road use, even with sporty driving, and sport + throttle just changes the throttle mapping to make it harder to modulate without providing extra power. I think a lot of the reputation of this car being hard to control comes from people driving it in sport + rather than sport and having that unexpected/unnatural throttle mapping
Spot on with your assessment of this car 👌 I’ve owned fast diesels e46 330d, and had two e90 335d’s (the most recent I’ve had extensively tuned including suspension and brakes) and I have a stage 2+ 535d, the F82 M4 simply blows these away. So aggressive, so sharp and such an occasion. I like the fact it demands respect and requires a level of experience to get the best from it.
F8x are the last of the true M drivers car imo. The balance, engagement and rawness make it so special. Disappointed when I drove a G8x. Very fast but feels numb and lifeless
@@blazesmooth5573 what? 😂 fundamental dynamics is the way it drives; G8x doesn’t have the balance or agility as the F8x. Front end much more inclined to understeer whereas the F8x front end is PINNED. Steering isn’t as precise or engaging. To get the best out of the F8x, you have to be a good driver. G8x so easy to drive fast and lacks involvement
This car can do it all. I track it on the road coarse, I daily it and take it to the drift track. It's no slouch on either of them. I like what you said regarding the throttle input. It is something to be learned in this car as the boost comes on so quick specially once you start tuning it etc.
The whole point of an M3 is that it can do it all. There's no point having a 340i alongside this. Might as well get a 320i/d and a Porsche Cayman if you're going to run two cars.
@@davidevans5297I get it now mate. I went for an extensive test drive, the handling was absolutely amazing compared to a regular 3 series, there's very little in common between them. The noise in the cabin however was too much, so much tyre roar, a long drive would be exhausting. It saddens me because I need a car that does everything.
@@ronniep9272 Agreed, the F80 really is amazing and a very different experience than the F30. Cabin noise hasn't bothered me too much but that might be a tire thing, or my hearing is just trash now.
These things are “ widow makers” as you call them, because they are intended as a track car not an everyday vehicle. Many buyers just don’t have the skills or experience to handle them. Unfortunately that means the widows usually belong to the other guy rather than the driver.
Love your real world video reviews , looks like this M3 could be absolute carnage in the wrong hands 😂 Currently drive a 125i and was thinking of maybe a 340i estate as my next car, but you’ve put me off that idea now 😂👍
@3:40 The manual is Jerry too. It took me awhile to learn the proper pedal dance to keep it happy. Don't even bother with the 1-2 shift under 4000 rpm...
Is the 2017 M3 Comp any Differnt to the 2018 M3 Competition ?...This car will definitely hold its value and will always be in Demand....Such a beautiful Super car.....Well Done....And they were built strong unlike maybe other bmws
Hi Nice video. I’m thinking of the M3 or M4 F80/F82. I’ve been advised by a family member not to get an M car if I’ve never driven a sports RWD car as it’s hard to drive and get used to? I see handling is twitchy?
i'd get something like a bmw 340i first if you want a rwd car as it's a bit more forgiving. The M3 can be quite unforgiving at times and if you're not 100% sure in what you're doing then it can end badly.
Tell me about it. I was interested in buying one but the test drive showed me this would not make a good daily car. There's simply too much noise inside.
Nice to see a review of likely "daily drivers" covering the bases. Range is a big one for me - can't be arsed to contend with service stations (and their ludicrous pricing) every 200 miles! 😆 Out of interest Tom... 2019/2020 M2 Comp, M3 Comp or M4 Comp - which do you reckon makes the best daily? (I note M3s seem to get a lot of comments about road noise & tyre hum).
M3 every day of the week, perfect blend of sport, power, and you have 4 doors for family or passengers. That is what I love about a M3 or C63, to most people it’s just another sedan, but those who know, know😉
Nah it is the perfect blend between the old and new. The buttons are real, they click when you push them, you have an analog tachometer, etc etc now everything is digital and touch screen, looks pretty but is lifeless. I love the interior of the f80. If you want more modern get a G80 🤣
The tyre and wind noise on this car is so loud here in the UK. You can't even cruise at 40mph without it. Good for a country road blast but annoying as a daily.
They dont call BMW's the ultimate driving machine for nothing. Such a beast
Whether you want to go on holiday, touring for the weekend, for daily driving or drifting, these M cars have it all.
One of the best reviews of the F80, period. Really nailed it.

What an amazing car spot on review
God I’m waiting for mine to be delivered this week I can’t wait
It looks like an amazing car
Hope you love it, I really want one but got to wait another year yet
best car in Paragon cars so far❤🔥🔥
Man I so wish I could afford one of these. Look like so much fun.
I can hear the active sound design there I coded that out 5 years ago on my 2018 M3 Competition !
Appreciate the vid after just buying and M3 F80 at long last. I absolutely love it btw! 👌🏽
"Have a 340 as a daily and this [M3 Comp] as a track car". Couldn't agree more - so that's what I did. Both manual.

I agree about the manual gearbox being a perfect addition to the M machine. If only they were more common to purchase in the second hand market.
Love the competition spec my friend had one in a baby blue kind of colour
The best review ❤

For the first year I drove mine like it was trying to kill me.

It's not for everyone, excellent track car

would be cool to see a manual version of this M3/M4

Nice video! You never said what the rough total miles would be on a full tank though?
Town driving about 160-180, motorway about 320. Also heavily depends on how you drive it haha.
@ParagonCarsLondon o and how many litres is that? 320 not that far really!
Don't forget... 320 miles, not kms!
you need to tap it then start to get on it. I am sure you figured that out by now tho.

Is this still worth buying in the era of super fast electric cars like a Model 3 Performance.
if you want an appliance, probably not, if you want a car with soul, yes.
@@Nate_H.Cheers. I'm gonna pick one up soon, I just don't want it to be completely worthless in 5 years as more cars go the electric route.

Just can’t get anything else close for the money (except another M Car)

Hardly any diff over the base..if you have adaptive suspension on the base.dont bother "upgrading"
