The meaning of 'shalom' is more than just 'peace'. To wish someone God's shalom is to wish them completeness, wholeness and wellness of being, and that these things would increase in that persons life, so that there would be nothing missing, nothing lacking and nothing broken within. It's so much deeper and so much more than just 'peace'. Thank you muchly for taking Jesus' words from John 14 and creating this absolutely beautiful choral work. I love the duet version too!

Thank you for this. It gives me a greater appreciation for and understanding of the word. I play this song everything I go in for the chemotherapy of my cancer. It brings tears to my eyes because these words give me strength in acceptance of God's will for me. And with that acceptance I receive Peace.

I love how it combines a Jewish phrase alongside a Christian bible verse. Both "shalom" and John 14:27 are communicating the message of peace. In short what it is saying is I am giving you peace whether it peace from God or from me.

Every time I hear this song, I just bawl with emotion. I don't know if it's the word "peace" that triggers me. It's like I feel the pain because I am trying to look for peace, but I couldn't always find it. The phrase "do not be afraid" gets me every time. I don't know how to put my emotion into words. This song just makes me feel things. I love it and you do a very beautiful interpretation of it as well. Very well done! :)
