YES I am watching discussing ! Merry Christmas to you and your family. Acl make a race series of bearings popular around the world. Like the idea of pumping the air out when priming Kit from down under
Great videos all year. Thanks for taking the time to produce them, in what is obviously a busy life on all fronts. Merry Christmas, and in case you don't post again, Happy New Year. Hoping 2025 is a great one for you and the family.
Don’t mater to much about the ultimate power, it’s a fantastic piece of engineering and sounds incredible. You done a great job to get it all back together. Very wise I am sure to strip and check it’s all bedding in ok, because of the nature of it
Thats going to wheelie! Drove an imp with twin 40's in the seventies! Front end used to float under acceleration! Sounds very sweet, get it in a car!! Phil Whitley, my week this week on UA-cam!
The 5 bearing blocks are available - albeit expensive - the heads are not. The problem with the heads are that they are unproven in what they can deliver and they are all a bit unique in build and design. There are Mk1’s, production FWH’s and MK2’s - we assume the that MK2’s are the way to go but this is the first time in years that someone has built up an ex-works ‘copy’ and bunged it on a dyno - its not a direct comparison as you’d need to run a fully modded sports head with the same cam profile. The 5 bearing bottom end gives that additional stability for high revs - the (any) power increase will come from the head and addition air flow. If you look at Coventry Climax heads on sale they are £5/6k - complete with valves, cam and carriers - we all love our imps/clans/davs etc - but the market for a new FWH head kit would be limited.
Cheers Andy. Thanks for the hours of entertainment, absolute ⭐ Just a thought Andy. That water pipe, will it work? both ends of that pipe are plumbed into water outlet points; flow?
Andy, thanks for taking the time to post the video tonight. All the best for Christmas. With modern scanners and casting techniques is there not a case for scanning the 5 bearing block and crankshaft, or would it not be eligible for homologation?
Go on🫵💪 turned that piece of monkey nuts into something decent!! All hail the master. Will Parry get ready to sort a manifold out for the cross flow head 🫵💪😉
I really enjoy this type of video where you're building something quite special. Thanks for sharing.
That sounds absolutely magnificent, that last snip-it, so sweet!

Beautiful. I'm building a cooking K series 1.8 for my sprint/hillclimb ZR over xmas, wish me luck!
Excellent Andy. Nice to see Mr Mathews! Have a great Christmas.
That engine sounds epic. Proper ‘brrrrappp’ from it. Love it.
Merry Christmas to you and all the family, mate.
Spot on !
Thanks Andy. Have a great Christmas. 👍
Sounds superb
What about getting a 5 bearing block and sand cast head scanned up for someone to remanufacture, there would be no shortage of buyers, I'm certain.

How about a stepped exhaust for the next one for that 10HP more Andy wants. 😂
