At 15min, you say to use the mesh select tool to arrange the laces. This is a really awesome tool, and I will be using it more now. However, I found better results with laces by just using the gizmo tool and rotating each as desired prior to simulation. Thanks for all the tutorials you've posted! I feel semi decent at MD b/c of you.
Great video. If you ever revisit this, don't forget that you need that one straight piece at the very bottom or very top where the lace strings across at the origin. :)
For those who have problems with the strips that are not completely smooth, they should unstitch the side that was interlaced, simulate and then sew again and simulate again.
Thank you so much i was having so much trouble with laces self colliding and you solved it fast and easy. I'm learning so much from this channel it's crazy.
After I create an ellipse for the grommet and add the vertical center line, when I right click to just select the ellipse, there is no option to fold angle. There's only the fold angle option when I select the center line. Can you help me with this?
hey Daniel, how about copying one front lace set alog with the small circles and just duplicating them which matches the corresponding holes? wouldn't that be easy? instead of sewing all one by one
Hi Daniel, I am having difficulty of seam joint at the hole always. I am seeing your simulated sewing is custom angle at string and hole joint, and front and back string shows line connected with turned seam. Can u advise how string can be custom angle sewing at internal line?
hi, my problem is, i need to make a hole for the laces, because i need to export the model in 3d applications, i tried manually connecting the laces to each other, the problem is when i am simulating, the connections are getting scattered, i dont know if i need to adjust some settings on the fabric,. thickness, or collision. it just scatter always
You are the best! Do you think MD/Clo can be a good modeling software for accessories such as creating shoes? if you can go over making hard objects in clo with your creative mind it could help! thanks again you deserve the best.
Shoes? no. But certain hard surface modeling like large pieces of armor can be done, and it's actually really interesting (but not very efficient) . I'd like to make a video on hard surface modeling with MD/Clo in the future
@@Daniel-qq6il thank you for your attention! Can you recommend a good 3d modeling software to create shoes, jewelry and other accessories that I can later import to clo and combine with the clothes? I found a few videos on youtube of modeling bags in clo, what do you think about it? Thanks again man
Hi, maybe you know, how modelling shoes in Marvelous (Clo3d) I'm not understand, how made rubber part, and how this part, connect with other parts. (Sorry for my English)
Alyks is right, polymodeling is your best bet. I've modeled some shoes in Clo and it CAN be done, but it's not worth the extra effort. I really hope it's something Clo will give us more tools for in the future, because I think there is serious potential for doing modeling like shoes, but the tools just aren't there right now.
Daniel hello, i know a better way of twisted sewing. Go to your edit sewing and left click and click flip on one thread and then go to the other side and left click and flip that one as well. your threads are crossed. your welcome. much easier.
Best teacher of MD/clo3d in UA-cam.
Half of the videos out there are just video without instruction. You're the best.
Im an apparel sportswear product developer and I use Clo3D all day everyday at work and your videos have definitely helped me with this program.
Damn Daniel! Back at it again with the tutorial!

Thank you so much for this tutorial, it was beyond helpful for someone who has never used Clo3D before!

Looking forward to make shoes.
How do you move the fabric without getting the holes with you (5:36)? I have tried it all, but it fails all the time.
Did you figure this out. I am stuck here too
Thanks buddy!
do you have astore ? just amazing

Some great tips! When is the next tutorial? I see you haven't posted anything in 3 months :(
If you pick an average width for all the lace then just use Shrinkage Weft in Simulation Properties you don't need to adjust the actual pattern widths
Sir Please make videos for beginners from the first step
to fix the folded strings you can just redo the sewing line and make sure its parallel :)
22:56!! How did you rotate that without going into your menu!!?????
wow Daniel i was waiting for this, thx;)
Would you please let me know Set sublayer seam what to do
For keyboard noise get RTX Voice, works brilliantly.

Hi, maybe you know, how modelling shoes in Marvelous (Clo3d) I'm not understand, how made rubber part, and how this part, connect with other parts. (Sorry for my English)
I guess the best way to model a shoe (especially the rubber sole) is by polymodeling and not actually using Clo3d/Marvelous.
