Very Nice! Do you know How to do this for a date field? The dashboard I get shows the date in the Filter but that goes backdate for many years passed. I just want to see only 2021. I thought that I will try to bring it to Rows and create a new column in Data Source but somehow Left Formula is giving me number 4 and not 1 for Jan 2 for Feb and so on. Can you tell me how should I do it? I tried to do it with slicer but slicer shows me all years and it becomes so big and if I want data for 2 days then I have to scroll up to and down. to find those 2 days. I want those 2 -3 dates right in front of me rather than going through 5 years back. Thanks

Thanks for sharing the slicer sorting. One question I have is what if tomorrow new values gets added up in the slicer do I need to manually update it. Also is there an options say that I have 5 values showing in slicer. I am interested that only 3 of those values come 1, 2 snd 3 and rest I am not concerned. It is possible to do it in that way also.
If the slicer is created from pivot table fields, the pivot table needs to be refreshed, Right click anywhere in the pivot table and from the menu click refresh.
i'm having trouble getting a custom sort on slicers in powerpivots - any advice? "Use custom lists when sorting" at 6:56 is not an option... (excel 2016 enterprise) thanks!
If the custom sort doesn't workout, you may need to use the helper column like with the letter of the first name example in the power pivot either before it's put into the data model or in the data model (with some DAX functions)
