It would be great if you could talk a bit on one of your videos about the differences in adjudication between BOA and UIL contests? They are very different. Thanks!
I watched the awards ceremonies for the MTSU and NYSFBC pretty interesting. Lots of really really small bands. The Tarpon Springs win by almost four points though in BoA Orlando is insane.
The schools you didn’t have a record for have changed classifications. Lakeview Centennial from Garland has been 6-A in Area C. The problem with Garland ISD is that no matter which Jr. High you went to, you get to choose which High School you go to. There is no such thing as feeder schools. So when you try to go train a Jr. High, it’s a waste of your time. You may be training an excellent body of students that will not go to your school. It can also change your school’s classification. I can’t wait to hear your breakdown of the 2-A’s!! Mesquite schools “fix” their student bodies to go to where they can stack up each school to have their best results in all UIL competitions. For years, the dominant 4-A school was Mesquite-Poteet. When the students were to go to that school, they would move students to other schools to keep Poteet 4-A, thereby keeping their band program always at state and winning or at least the top 3. When all schools in Texas had to be moved up a classification, they still controlled how many students could be enrolled in Poteet to keep them in 5-A, so they don’t have to compete against Hebron, Marcus and Flower Mound. FUN!!

I knew that Castle came in 3rd, but didn't know about them winning a subcaption. Looking back at information that has been leaked, this is the first time a band other than Avon or Carmel has won a subcaption when both those bands were at an ISSMA competition together since 2018. I'm not expecting Castle to steal 2nd at the state competition, but that's huge that there is another band possibly breaking the Avon/Carmel dominance in Indiana.
My son is in his senior year at Castle. Castle has made an attempt to level up this year. As you probably know, they are classified in BOA below Avon and Carmel. But in ISSMA they are in the same class as the big 2. Castle is a little smaller than those two Indy area schools but the band is comparable in size. 242 kids this year. They’ll likely never get higher than 3rd in ISSMA.
@@onthefritzfarm I'm a Castle parent, too, and I've made the same comments about Castle's likelihood of ever placing higher than 3rd in ISSMA. I was just pointing out that of the known ISSMA scores when Avon/Carmel were at the same competition, another band has never won a single subcaption.
So I can tell you this about Broken Arrow OK at the competition in St. Louis. They took it hard and without grace sadly. It was bad sportsmanship all around for these musicians. BOA had announced to ALL the schools to clear the field so that Blue Springs could have the field for their group photo and little celebration. Broken Arrow NEVER left that field. They clobbered the sidelines which meant that parents couldn't take pics with their kids that won and celebrate with them unless the kids came up to the stands. Let's not forgot that during the actual ceremony, most of the band couldn't even be bothered clapping for the other bands. This is the result of winning over and over. They didn't learn how to lose. 18 years they've been on a winning streak for regionals. Teachers, staff, and even some parents really dropped the ball here.
Clearly this man has a serious issue with Avon. Look let me tell you he doesn't remember when Avon wasn't good. But hey haters gonna hate. And NO ONE is supposed to have access to those score sheets in Indiana. DIRECTORS aren't even allowed to share them!!! I hope someone makes sure you can't have them next year.
@GeneralEffectMedia The tone and inflection as compared to every other band name in Issma open. I'm not going to debate it. It was a statement of what I heard. However the fact that you should NOT be publishing those score sheets is indisputable.
@@Mikkaag You're failing to interpret simple reporting if you take that as hate towards your favorite band. Calm down buddy. Whether he likes Avon or not (which can't be judged by this video) doesn't matter as the purpose of this video is to simply lay out the scores. You're creating a problem that doesn't exist and are pressed for no reason. As for the scores, you make a good argument, but he is not the one sending the scores. If you want to complain, find the root of the problem (not here).
@@GeneralEffectMedia You didn't. I think someone is just salty. I saw nor heard anything in expressions or tone that cued favoritism or disgust. Just keep doing what you do :)
We love the representation of Mississippi! Next weekend, class 7A most notably will have its state championships.
I am so late to this conversation, but I got told 10th-15th in the ISSMA semi state comp were all within a point or two with eachother

You had the wrong location and host for the Paragould McDonald’s Invitational. It is not in New Mexico.

There was 77 bands at the STL BOA Super Regional. 😊
then why were only 69 bands listed on the recap? marching.musicforall.org/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2024/10/St.Louis_Prelims_Recap.pdf
