I'm honestly impressed y'all have gone on so many extended trips where you two spend so much time together. I know couples that can't even take a road trip without a major fight I swear.
@Phantom Warrior they're a professor and engineer. And in the USA, if you plan and save your money, you can work whatever schedule you want. I've taken up to a year off at a time, usually 6 months or so
@Joel Ha im an engineer and can plan very well. But barring a medical leave such as pregnancy (or parental leave for father) or maybe mental health. You can take the leave but after a while, they will make plans to kick you out as they will need a replacement. They can't just keep you in limbo. There are government positions but unless you are buddies with the director of minister of the department, they won't save your seat. The professor is a maybe provided they are tenured and bring in huge funding. Also which employer allows this every year? I would like to know as i would love to work there.
When I was little a ‘cowboy camp out’ meant my family would gather everyone’s blankets together and spread them out on the ground and we sleep around our fireplace. Usually paired with some hotdogs and canned beans. It was fun during the winter snowstorms.
You guys are so wholesome.. your relationship is a great representation of a healthy union...keep posting this generation needs to see this!! God bless!
You are both so lucky and I really enjoy watching what you guys post.. I live in Australia so to see parts of America I have never seen Is just really beautiful. Thank you xx
What do you view as hard? For me it’s hard to go to a 9-5 every day and not be doing whatever I want. They give things up but they get to chase their dreams.
I agree with everyone here in the comments. I'm one who hates the 9-5 grind and the hustle of business life... this is like a dream for me compared to the 9-5. But, my partner loves city life, can really only stand camping for 3 days at a time, and really enjoys the hustle - so it's definitely split depending on personality. 😂
@@katrabbit yea i could spend weeks to months doing what they do and same with my step dad but my mom on the other hand hates camping and things of the like it all depends on the person and neither life style is really easier than the other
Used a Diamond tent, brought 35 years ago, one telescopic centre pole and 8 anchors. No floor, so bike, panniers and myself can be undercover, room too stand upright. Not for the squeamish, but keeps you and all your gear dry. Make yourself plenty of memories, for your later lives. 🤗
They have sunscreen, and they also have bug nets for their heads. If you look at the equipment video for their most recent trip they go over everything they have packed for their 4 month trek
I don't know why or when these videos were recommended to me but I love them I remeber hearing about one of these trails from my buddy when he took me to Mono hot springs it's a dream for me now
Love love your videos. Want to know more about you when you aren’t adventuring. What part of the country do you live in? What kind of jobs do you have to travel so often? How long have you been married? How did you guys meet and how did you know each other loved adventuring? Maybe a Q&A trail style. Each break video an answer to a question.
i to cowboy camp i live in north carline so its warm or a little chilly year round so i can camp like this as long as its not raining its the best way to sleep
I can't tell you how jealous I am!!! I love being alone... until I see this kind of stuff! I wish I had someone to travel with like this. Anyway, live your best life while you can!!💙✌️
my bf and I went to test setting up a tent in a park once.... we thought it went great! then the day came when we got to our campsite...... it was the first time either of us went real camping since we were kids, and omg.... lesson learned. The tent wasn't too bad, but we only brought sleeping bags, and we felt EVERY rock and stick beneath us. Had the most miserable night's sleep ever. Went out the next morning and bought a 2 ft. thick air mattress, lol
So legit, cannot wait to see your videos and live vicariously thru you! Do you plan to post on your hike or take videos at all? Seems like unnecessary baggage but would still love to see
"It's good that we like each other" 😭😭 I'm lucky I usually hike with a few men, they sleep in one tent and then one of them even carries my 1 person tent - sutch luxury.
Okay, I'm addicted to your videos and going through and just shotgun liking them, but wondering if you could answer two questions in return 1) kind of a weird question, but when you are on the trail and making decisions like when to stop and take your after lunch nap or whether you are going to cowboy camp or not, is it a normal couple situation with occasional disagreements and matter of fact interaction or do you guys have to approach things a little differently since you're in a draining/taxing situation. I always thought it was interesting to listen to the way people talk stateside versus when we would get into combat and listen to their tone change. Sorry if that's a vague question but basically I want to know how you guys interact as a couple and as a team when making decisions. 2) much simpler question here: have you ever gotten to one of your sites where you mail a cache and it's not there? If so, what would you do?
Y'all are so brave. I'm scared of predators or just psychos lol. What do you do/have to protect you in case of say a bear or mountain lion is showing signs of actually attacking? What do you to to deter attacks and if that doesn't work what will you do in case of an attack?
I wonder how cowboy's camping is with spiders, snakes, beetles, biger animals and scorpions? Don't get me wrong, I am not afraid. As an entomologist, I am just cautious. I only did these kind of terrains in tents, so looking forward to your answer. E.g. maybe snakes are put off by snorers ( as they move away from noise vibrations.)
Cowboy camping huh? Id be worried about snakes or scorpions. I'm a wuss about bugs and such and I'm ok with it. My hubs build an A-frame with a tarp and we slept under that here in Vermont last summer. We love to be in nature. I can't imagine how beautiful these hikes are. Hard work for sure. Good luck on your hike
If you said to me use either of them in Scotland I would laugh. Particularly over a long distance where weather varies drastically. But it seems to me the zpacks has more space and is lighter so makes perfect sense in the PNW. I envy the conditions over there. But not the wildlife.
It is so awesome that the two of you found someone to share these adventures with.
Truly some one for everyone 😊
Yes! … I always think that, 😊it’s Awesome. So happy for them. ….🤔 I gotta find My Someone.😁
right truely couple goals 🥺
I ate your mom
Yes! I'd get a divorce if my husband brought me to this sort of holidays 😅😂
I'm honestly impressed y'all have gone on so many extended trips where you two spend so much time together. I know couples that can't even take a road trip without a major fight I swear.
😅 fights are still had they have a video about handling disagreements on the trail.
"it's a good thing we like each other" 😂
hahahaha omg
“Our last walk from Mexico to Canada” THIS IS YALL’S SECOND TIME
Edit: THREE TIMES?!?! HOLY SHIT YALLA RE STRONG
Three times? I thought in a more recent video they said this was the 2nd time they walked from Mex to Can. But either way incredible 😱
Team work makes the dream work❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
I wish I could practice what a preach 😂😂🎉❤
That's crazy!
I love how they casually dropped, "our last walk from Mexico to Canada" and "our first walk from Mexico to Canada" like girl...
Im still curious if they don't have jobs? In canada or usa, good luck getting this much time off

@@asadb1990 he mentioned saving, so I’m sure that he meant quitting and finding a new job.
@@asadb1990no no, leaving a job and taking a year off to travel and then applying for a new one. I’ve done it twice so far lol

Sounds absolutely wonderful ❤
That sounds like such a lovely family tradition ❤

You guys are absolutely awesome..
thanks for all the cool tips
But my favorite is your smiles..
enjoy your trips and stay safe
Really appreciate the knowledge y’all share. Has helped me make gear decisions for me and my kids several times over!
It is so awesome that the to of you found someone to share these adventures with
I love, that even though it's a timed test, as soon as Renee finished hers, she started helping. Cause that's just how you do.
Bruh who is Kate
Her name is Renee. Who is Kate?
You guys are the exact opposite of me because I hate having to go outside and walking but everyone of my family loves it
I also dislike going out but i love cardio so i have to force myself to have fun
That clip at the end with the sunset is so beautiful! What a perfect place to be camping
I love a good adventure .. I’m officially binge watching your videos, I’m invested. Great videos ❤️
You guys are so awesome!! Hope you guys have a safe and an amazing journey!!
You are both so lucky and I really enjoy watching what you guys post.. I live in Australia so to see parts of America I have never seen Is just really beautiful. Thank you xx
Renee is such a happy person! I love it.
I love the smiles, but shoot me straight. On a scale of 1-10 how hard is this lifestyle relative to the normal 9-5 lifestyle?
What do you view as hard? For me it’s hard to go to a 9-5 every day and not be doing whatever I want. They give things up but they get to chase their dreams.
It's an 11. You're constantly dirty and sore. But it's really fun.

I give u guys props ! That’s insane how far u guys go!! I Would not last !! Happy trails
The way she went back to help him!
This isn't a complete sentence or thought.
She knew it wasn’t a fair contest. She has more practice setting up the tents.
If I did this I would have to carry my purple mattress with me
that things way heavy girl
😂
I just love watching you both! Such an inspiration! Wish I could do what you do:) God bless!

I love to watch ya'll and the fun you have and your connection is wonderful. When you cowboy camp, do you ever wake up with snakes close to you?
yall are so cool!! this is goals, hope to keep learning from you and try this one day!
Love this, y’all❤ have fun and be safe!
You two are lovely, here’s to a lifetime of fun adventures for you both, how I wish I was young again !.
How do you guys protect from bugs, sunburn, and other wildlife when you’re outside all the time?
Don’t forget about crazy people
They have said in some other vid that they use lots of sunscreen and bug spay when going though an area with lots of bugs
God do I hope one of them carries a pistol too, crazy people in the world, animals when "cowboy camping", etc.
They have sunscreen, and they also have bug nets for their heads. If you look at the equipment video for their most recent trip they go over everything they have packed for their 4 month trek
neartly spunk on the walls
you both inspire me! love you channel
Excited to share your journey!!
I love you both, you inspire me to get out more and more! I forage the PNW!
You guys are awesome! Please be safe & have fun! ❤️

I seriously love your videos! I hope to walk the AT at some point in my future. These videos have been incredibly helpful!
This is so awesome I just wanna find a little spot a little piece of paradise and set up my tent for a while your videos are great and inspiring
Loved this comparison!

Super jelly I hope to some day be capable of this. Great job guys!
Enjoying your adventures!! 😊$700 for a piece of fabric the size of a trash bag is nuts.

Love your waking trips 😅😊
You guys are seriously such a cute couple!
Im so happy for you two. I wish my man had an interest in at least small hikes. No one around me ever wants to spend time out doors
Enjoy your trip. Ill look forward to your posts.
You guys inspire me! I’m a Washingtonian 🌲makes me want to get out of Tacoma and get back on the mountains
I feel u! Anything east is soooo nice
Love you both. Keep it up!
Them arguing must be like your 2 favorite guidance counselor’s having a disagreement 😩😂
I hope you guys have a safe trip.
You guys should document the trip so we can live vicariously through you lol
Yeah the same people freeze drying food so they don't have to carry extra weight will bring their full recording equipment
@@WhoKnowsMang savage Lolol.
After the story I heard of people sleeping under the stars I would not risk it. However I bet what u 2 do is so amazing and freeing
Cowboy hunting is so fun and peaceful and it’s more calming bc you sleep while watching the stars
I did wonder about insects. Growing up, camping in MN, non-tent camping was never on the table due to mosquitoes.
How's the carbon fiber do when it hits rocks? I use the easton aluminum stakes and they didn't do well when they hit rocks
Renee always has a big smile on her face when she is drinking her coffee
Love you guys !!!! 🤩
Backpacking in wilderness is fun and a challenge….great tech nowadays…shoes, clothing , & equipment….
You earned new subscriber

Ha very cool in the 90s my dad paddled his homemade canoe from costal New York to nome Alaska took two years
You guys should consider getting a pop up tent! Their vey stable and way easier to set ip
Ay, I’m here in the pacific north west. Hope you enjoyed your time!
"So its a good thing we like each other" HAD me dieing
I would recommend a hammock tent with a below 0 lining and a big net and rain cover
I wanna be just like you all I watch all of ur videos
These 2 will definitely survive an apocalypse !
This presented like a comedy. 😅😅😅 “We are gearing up to walk the earth using only our shoes and flip flops”
I don’t and probably won’t ever do this but I love y’all content so wholesome
"It's good that we like each other" 😭😭
I'm lucky I usually hike with a few men, they sleep in one tent and then one of them even carries my 1 person tent - sutch luxury.
“Our last walk from Mexico to Canada” while I’m here stuffing nachos in on the couch
Looks like her tent might b better in the wind cuz of the shape of it and the rainfly looks like it has more tie outs 😊
What an amazing life❤️❤️❤️
Renee has the best smile.

Bugs and bad weather. God bless you guys.
This must've helped you bond that's great
She knows that laugh is really really contagious
Is camping without a tent exposed dangerous because of animals? Are there any precautions you take to deter wild animals besides bear gear?
Nothing beats cowboy camping when possible
Big angus is Amazing I have a light tent and it may be heavy but worth it for the comfort
How do y’all do it?! I cant even brush my teeth with out groaning, but y’all can canoe ANDDD walk for FOUR MONTHS?!?
That's so cool
A tent that is held up by your walking sticks?! That’s ingenious!🏕️
The rain fly is a huge advantage for the tiger wall tent, though.
These peoples up beat attitude and that guys smile makes me ALMOST want to take out the trash and call it a hike

It’s a good thing we light each other 🤣 hilarious
I'm too anxious about bugs and animals to do cowboy camping 😂
Please tell me that even if it's a good weather y'all set up the tent
Imagine it randomly start raining and y'all are just in the floor
My family has both and I definitely prefer tigerwall
What do you guys do for a living in order to take that much time to do things like this?
