The first and second owners drive an e39 for about 200,000 miles, the third owner, if he likes it , tries to buy it cheap, like $5,000, does all the repairs, then gets a $5,000 repair bill. Next comes body work and interior.
Excellent fix Chris. These cars are legends and very reliable. And in Europe, these are becoming cult and slowly getting more expensive to buy. Have a great week. Dutch regards, Nico.
How much did everything together cost? I'm looking to buy a really neglected one from an older couple. But it's been sitting for like 2 years and inside is all torn. Wanna see if it's even worth it at that point.
Heading up to SC this coming Thursday to pick up a 60k N54 for my 2010 535i. Current Engine has 173k and a nasty knock. Thining about keeping the old engine and having it rebuilt for a future project.. Still have my eyes open for a reasonably priced E60 550 (Wink Wink) to add to my stable. Im still looking for some 550 wheels, I have a set of E60 M5 Wheels and a set of 745 wheels, but I think the 550 wheels would look best on my 2010 M-Sport..
Dang, rod knock... That's why I'm worried about pushing big power out of the wagon build without servicing the rod bearings first. Better safe than sorry :/
@@TheBimmerBarn Absolutely agree. My father purchased it new and kept it pristine, I purcjased it from him for a steal and the knock started 1 week later. I definitely drove it really hard that week. The replacement engine is getting a full inspection before installing. Changing all the pumps and seals immediately
I enjoy all your BMW videos I also love older BMWs (wagons). Do you currently have any for sale? if not how about in the near future? let me know I am interested.
None for sale currently, best way to see my "inventory" is subscribing to the channel! The 335i wagon will be up for sale in the coming months, and after that we will see what wagon will come next! Hopefully an E46 wagon if you asked me, but I'm open to all possibilities 😁
Hey man love you’re channel! I’ve been doing crazy research on a new set of wheels and tires but it’s super hard to find a concrete answer in terms of what offset with what size wheels.I have a 03 530 with sports suspension and I wanna fit some 18s staggered with nice fitment. What do think offset wise or if you know any info that would be superrr appreciated
Imagine an N54 powered E39 with FBO and upgraded suspension.. Great job on the Restoration..
Good job Cris I wish you were i canada 🇨🇦 because I have 2 E39 one of them is 525i wagon and the other is 530i keep up the good work 👍
Thanks Tony! E39 Love

Very good series, you've done excellent with this car. Hope I can snag one soon, the hype is getting real.
Holy cow yes the hype has gotten real for the wagons. I can't lie, I'm not helping but these cars are getting harder to find for a reasonable price!

I'd try to find some wheels that have the same offset/specs as the M5 style wheels; 18x8 ET20 front, 18x9.5 ET22 rear.
Love the content, I'm looking at a 2003 525i with 185k miles for 2300. Little nervous about the mileage. Should I stay away ?
