I am always amazed by the people who get too close to the horse and when the horse touches or pushes them they LOOK UP TO THE GUARD as if the horse did something wrong! Don't get so close, it's very simple.
I just cannot understand why this touching and crowding the horses is allowed. It’s absolutely insane. The signs do absolutely nothing. Also, so many rude people walking in front of other people just to touch the poor horse. It’s amazing to me how the people in charge see this and allow it.
Most people you hear aren't speaking English so how are they supposed to understand what the signs say maybe a picture sign would be best or about 20 signs in different languages like we get with everything we buy now 😂😂
@@annieg5487 There really is no excuse. They can download (and probably already have, because they are tourists and are surgically attached to their phones) an app where you take a picture of any sign and lo and behold it will translate it for you.
I think the best suggestion that has been made so far is to hire a photographer to take pictures. This might solve the problem of people touching and / or getting too close to the guard and horse and to also keep those ridiculous parents that lift their child up to pet the horse.

Strangers petting the horses and acclimating them to sounds are good things for the horses- note how calm they remain considering. These horses need to be fearless when in overcrowded situations… marches especially. Just don’t touch the reins n guards, you’re good 🤳🏻

I love watching the Kings guard and horses. What I don’t understand is when getting the picture with the guard, the need to be touching the horse all the time. Stand for the picture then move on.
All it needs is a tourist guide employed there as they are in other areas, to tell the tourists that they can only stand by the wall on either side for photographs and must not, touch the horse of guardsman. Plus no waving of fingers near the horse’s face. Someone, is saving money by not fixing the problem but it’s not working.

Why didn't the Metropolitan police walk about and move the visitors along? What are they there if not for protection. The soldiers and the horses are in a vulnerable position the police can support them
The police that you see are from the MOD and are designated to protect inside the gates, however they do come out to check on the soldiers occasionally, especially when they hear them shout. The mounted police officers that you see are from the Met.

The horse became uncontrollable, and only after the horse was put down was the autopsy revealed that the horse had a high concentration of cayenne pepper in its mouth and throat. It was deemed a deliberate act of terrorism.

Some respectfully give space and stand at a distance and then there are others who crowd in and even worse block those who are trying to take a photo. You can really tell the difference in basic good manners and those who clearly have none. You can tell when the guard is relaxed and then suddenly on alert. It is simple good manners and bad, stupidity compared to respectful and appreciative. Tourists watch these and see how ridiculous some of you appear and go learn some good manners. No the easiest solution is to have a barrier around the front of the soldier and his horse,from one side of the opening to the other,then people would be prevented from constantly mauling the poor horse,they can still take their photos, but at a respectful distance, very proud of the King,s soldiers, but they deserve much more respect than they are getting. ❤Love from your Commonwealth country New Zealand 🇳🇿 😊

I can understand anyone wanting to take a photo of a beautiful horse and smart rider. I don't know why they think that photo is improved by the addition of a gurning moron.
Some respectfully give space and stand at a distance and then there are others who crowd in and even worse block those who are trying to take a photo. You can really tell the difference in basic good manners and those who clearly have none. You can tell when the guard is relaxed and then suddenly on alert.
It is simple good manners and bad, stupidity compared to respectful and appreciative. Tourists watch these and see how ridiculous some of you appear and go learn some good manners. Some here show how it is done.
