@TheTrueBrits you should check out the new Full Manual 11v11 league on EAFC. 8+ teams currently and growing. Would be massive for folks who were a fan of PES teamplay/FUMA All using low rated players and somehow slows the game down to be playable.
To me, it feels a little too arcadey for me as it’s too fast. I prefer the slower simulation style gameplay. The passing is too inconsistent. I do like the tightness of the controls. This game needs a lot of work, in my opinion.
I honestly hardly felt a difference between this and FIFA. I appreciate that it's a new game, and it's free and all that but this game just isn't for me. . And tbh, even if you like this Fifa-ish style of game, what is the incentive to quit FIFA for this? It's almost a copy paste
its not about automatic or manual. the gameplay has not much animations thats why it seems like its on rail. if they add more animations the game can change drasticly.

Its insane how a new studio comes out with a half-decent beta football game while our very own Konami couldnt even make a decent playable port of Efootball to the Unreal Engine with almost 10 years of assets in what? 3-4 years? This game for a beta is almost on Efootball's level (ofcourse everything needs work, physics, graphics) but some visuals, animations look decent. Its saddening as a PES fan.
Playing this game is so addictive, no scripts, no Handycap, imperfection is perfection, it needs more work yes but it is the center between efootball and fifa. i love it
Not my cup of tea. I don't own a console, so I can only judge what I see. But the physics are very simplistic, arcade. The ball looks like rolling on a pool table. Passes are ridiculously bad and fast. The keeper saves the high shots always in the same way. I was expecting a lot more, recalling the first gameplay videos. I don't like it as it is now. I don't like efootball, since Konami destroyed PES, I don't like EA FC24, too much arcade. Sadness. Someone give us a proper football game with realistic physics and seamless animations, please. The only hope remains a game that nobody knows if it will ever be announced: FIFA 2K25.
the constant change of possession and constant going forward to the point of it being 90 minutes of attack vs defence drills is not how real football works and every single game out there has failed to capture that. These games need to start rewarding tactical fluidity and patience. I have to force myself to play a certain way just to enjoy a career mode save, and then you're not rewarded. you have to start playing football in an arcade-y way and its so so boring.
This game being at least decent is actually a good thing, because we need more football games. It's the most popular sport in the world and the state of the games is pityful, we need more alternatives. 11 years ago it was enough with PES and FIFA, as they were both very different but still really good games. You were probably gonna like at least one of the two. As an offline player I actually played both of them for many years, and now? I'm not playing any football games.

Honestly, considering its in beta and their first game - its better than i expected. Especially considering its a football game which is not easy to perfect. Something to add, the GK animations are really good, considering how PES and FC 24 have struggled for years, they've came out and done well in this regard, they're not perfect but definitely good
Man, feels like it's been so long since we've had a good football game. It's sad. I still can't believe Konami just abandoned PES like that. Especially with how good Pes 2021 was, imo the best football game of all time. I'm getting bored after playing for it 4 years though lol. How do they have cross play and efootball still doesn't? 😅 it was so much easier and faster to connect to an opponent compared to ef24. I'd drop ef in a heartbeat if this game improves the animation and physics.
It's a lovely game for a beta and already better than Efootball,which says a lot. Positiv things: transfer market, like the idea of needing reputation points to get better players (although it's far too easy to get rep points). Tactics, very good and you can actually have a midfield if you play with tactics a bit. Good thing that sprint is like, I actually almost didn't use sprint unless there was space, much better and accurate to pass and shoot without using sprint. UI is great and fresh and easy to navigate. Don't like the comments, a bit weird at times. Didn't like the way some players jump as well. The problem with the R1 shots disappeared almost when you get a decent GK. I got Courtouis, and stopped suffering most of those goals. Overall a good game being in beta and I'm looking forward for the actual game coming out.

This game sucks, it started decent, i liked it. Then became like Hearthstone, developers are all photoshop guys. They just make fkin cards, oh and they change the pictures in the event section..You know you cant even play in 2 at home vs CPU.., i like co op, but co op here is an event..stupid konami people. Make a game mode. Is it really that hard to understand? i was watching those stupid cards with "permanent boost"... WOW... just raise stats.. permanent boost...thats ridicolous XD
It has potential because graphics way better than efootball but the gameplay is fifa 2.0😅 to much delay and funny passing. Everything looks strange and doesn't feel nice. It's not for me!! And when play a through ball for example to the RW the k.i is playing it the to RB😂😂 it's insane
Pros: User interface, Cons: Animations are too rigid, weird movement in terms of sudden change of directions, players glide, passes are going like rockets.. all in all, it looks like the remnant of an old Fifa engine, earlier code, very rigid and clunky. I don't think the final code is gonna be much different, so it's basically a FC [or Fifa if you like]. Maybe 2k will save the genre but I hardly think so [microtransaction wise].
Played alot of this over the weekend and really enjoyed it, I think the menus, sigining system and transfer market are really nice. Just like you its the ping ong speed of passing and automation is a bit jarring but if they develop the physics a bit more and make it more manual I could see this being quite big.

It simply doesn't work. You're trying to shoehorn something that is completely different. This game's mechanics are what an on-line player wishes to experience.
Football games by definition are intrinsically difficult to build. I used to play in 3 competitive leagues for pes. It was very very clear that things people moaned about were often down to not learning the game or even worse excuses for losing. 1 particular UA-camrs has a video up slagging the game off , so I watched it and he lose the ball because he would face the opposite way to passing. No one ,and I mean no one called him out , worse they all " happens all time " I lose regularly be..." It was so bad , he made a video saying he needs to do better... I see people wanting 100% control, good luck with that . I miss pes, it helped keep my depression at bay .
all i needed to know about this game is that it's nail on identical gameplay style like fifa. so an 87 OVR with 72 pace is worse than a 75 rated player who has 89 pace. completely identical to fifa, and unrealistic ofc. this game is a skip sadly. game desperately wants to be fifa.

All of ball's momentum gets totally absorbed at onve by the players' foot when he receives the a pass. Just like the old c64 games like sensible soccer and such. Jesus.
The only thing i didnt like about sprint was that you couldn’t ‘attack space’. If i’ve got only grass in front of and ive made space with nkunku who is 90 pace then i expect to fly into that area…but the mechanics make so the first touch is not only too heavy but it literally drags your pace backwards
konami just need money now..they already have a lot mobile gamers who spend lot of money in efootball..that's why they doesn't even care about console players anymore

It is pure average so far but the closed beta was awful the difference from closed to open beta was massive which kinda gives me hope for final release if they keep making massive strides

PES and EA FC do have 30+ years experience in their games so of course they will have much better physics, UFL for their first game this is good, of course they need to do a lot of updates to this but in a few years i can see this being pretty good if they make the updates we want.
The issue you will have with an all manual mode is you could be waiting a long time for a game to start. Majority of players won't care about all manual. Hey I hope ufl can survive and make it. Competition is good. If it's just going to be another efooball or fifa why bother? Make it different is some way. Who knows what market is out there waiting for this.

Game pace seems waaay too fast. No slow buildup. You're correct on the midfield play lacking - but that's today's player. I'm not an online player either but happy Strikers Inc is on the path to be successful. Thanks for the great, in-depth review TTB!
Keepers are sheet going out of the box, defenders too weak... Team composure is unorganized. Cannot make +2 goals on corners after 20 matches... They need a lot of work. Now I remember to almost score a goal with Gavi on R1+ Triangle from out of the box 😂
I actually think I played you, and I had a 4-2-4 with a stacked team at the end there. I actually started to beta with my favorite formation, 4-1-2-1-2, and beefed the midfield with great passing players but I found out it was pointless, as the midfielders just stand around, and you're better off using fullbacks or wingbacks to go right to your front line.
Efootball is surviving because its 1 - free and 2- the only alternative to EA. We need to encourage as many new entities into the space as possible because it's the only way that we can get a reaction out of Konami. Soon any competitive advantage they had will be gone and they'll finally have to push updates out if they want to remain alive

I have to admit. I’ve been playing the new Euro 24 update on ea fc and the gameplay imo seems to be a lot better than the standard game for some reason and I’m enjoying it. It seems slower and more balanced
Never thought that I would love this game because it's arcady, but I did. Yet there are a few things to fix: firstly, people are overusing the finese shot which I really hate as almost each finese shot ends in a goal. Secondly, I'd love to control the keeper manually (L1+L3+R3 like pes) to counter and block 1-on-1 or the finese shots myself, because I predict where the shot would land better than the game does. Thirdly, the fast assisted ping pong passes need to be worked at and be less super fast especially the driven pass, it should at least be completely manual. And lastly the overused skills, it's more like fifa, any player no matter who it is will do skills and dribbles. It gets messy defending these and they should balance that draining the player's stamina if he does too much skill moves. I think defending in this game is better than eFootball and definitely better than fifa but needs some work too. The game has potential but the arcadiness is killing the fun.
I really don't know why people expect manual controls. The Devs literally said before it won't have them 😂. Also people saying about career they've mentioned it's an online game as well. People really don't follow this game man. It's bad anyway. If they really are insisting on bringing this out in 2024 I don't have hope. It feels rushed as is.

Played around 12 matches so far and I've noticed people just spam the "finesse" shot at the top of box. Goes in 10 times out of 10.

1 particular UA-camrs has a video up slagging the game off , so I watched it and he lose the ball because he would face the opposite way to passing. No one ,and I mean no one called him out , worse they all " happens all time " I lose regularly be..."
It was so bad , he made a video saying he needs to do better...

all i needed to know about this game is that it's nail on identical gameplay style like fifa. so an 87 OVR with 72 pace is worse than a 75 rated player who has 89 pace. completely identical to fifa, and unrealistic ofc. this game is a skip sadly. game desperately wants to be fifa.

a game that's been in development for 5 years I thought they'd get basic player movement correct felt like I was playing world of tanks defending felt good and goalkeepers worked enjoyed that was only positives for me
All of ball's momentum gets totally absorbed at onve by the players' foot when he receives the a pass. Just like the old c64 games like sensible soccer and such. Jesus.

The only thing i didnt like about sprint was that you couldn’t ‘attack space’. If i’ve got only grass in front of and ive made space with nkunku who is 90 pace then i expect to fly into that area…but the mechanics make so the first touch is not only too heavy but it literally drags your pace backwards
konami just need money now..they already have a lot mobile gamers who spend lot of money in efootball..that's why they doesn't even care about console players anymore

PES and EA FC do have 30+ years experience in their games so of course they will have much better physics, UFL for their first game this is good, of course they need to do a lot of updates to this but in a few years i can see this being pretty good if they make the updates we want.

The issue you will have with an all manual mode is you could be waiting a long time for a game to start. Majority of players won't care about all manual. Hey I hope ufl can survive and make it. Competition is good. If it's just going to be another efooball or fifa why bother? Make it different is some way. Who knows what market is out there waiting for this.

Game pace seems waaay too fast. No slow buildup. You're correct on the midfield play lacking - but that's today's player. I'm not an online player either but happy Strikers Inc is on the path to be successful. Thanks for the great, in-depth review TTB!

I actually think I played you, and I had a 4-2-4 with a stacked team at the end there.
I actually started to beta with my favorite formation, 4-1-2-1-2, and beefed the midfield with great passing players but I found out it was pointless, as the midfielders just stand around, and you're better off using fullbacks or wingbacks to go right to your front line.
this game has a huge base -- community who knows what they want. eFootball gameplay + good connection + various modes = profit

Efootball is surviving because its 1 - free and 2- the only alternative to EA. We need to encourage as many new entities into the space as possible because it's the only way that we can get a reaction out of Konami. Soon any competitive advantage they had will be gone and they'll finally have to push updates out if they want to remain alive

I have to admit. I’ve been playing the new Euro 24 update on ea fc and the gameplay imo seems to be a lot better than the standard game for some reason and I’m enjoying it. It seems slower and more balanced

Never thought that I would love this game because it's arcady, but I did. Yet there are a few things to fix: firstly, people are overusing the finese shot which I really hate as almost each finese shot ends in a goal. Secondly, I'd love to control the keeper manually (L1+L3+R3 like pes) to counter and block 1-on-1 or the finese shots myself, because I predict where the shot would land better than the game does. Thirdly, the fast assisted ping pong passes need to be worked at and be less super fast especially the driven pass, it should at least be completely manual. And lastly the overused skills, it's more like fifa, any player no matter who it is will do skills and dribbles. It gets messy defending these and they should balance that draining the player's stamina if he does too much skill moves.
I think defending in this game is better than eFootball and definitely better than fifa but needs some work too. The game has potential but the arcadiness is killing the fun.

I really don't know why people expect manual controls. The Devs literally said before it won't have them 😂. Also people saying about career they've mentioned it's an online game as well. People really don't follow this game man. It's bad anyway. If they really are insisting on bringing this out in 2024 I don't have hope. It feels rushed as is.
