I really enjoyed that Jack, I learned to fly in the 80's, I haven't done any in the last 20 years and probably wouldn't pass the medical now, so flying vicariously with you was great. Thank you.
Fifty years ago, a J3 Piper Cub was our thing. A bit of a broom handle and nearly a wet finger held in the air for our instruments. Incredible technology for you and amazing on such a little bird. Nice to hear your routines and sensible approach to being a better pilot.
Yeah I use VUplex too but it’s more like $28 from Bunnings . Was checking your Ventura out down in Bunbury today , trying to put my two bobs worth in on your cooling issue 😊
I have to say this was my most enjoyable episode ever! As a GA VFR pilot myself, this is what I was waiting the most to see. I thought you mentioned something about doing a comparison between the Bose and David Clark headsets? Will that be in a future episode? Also, are you using an efb? In Australia the most common software is either Ozrunways or AvPlan EFB. Thanks for responding to subscribers comments and providing this video, it’s much appreciated.
Absolutely fantastic video Jack. Camera angle was good, felt like you were in the plane with you. Interesting to hear about your accident, sounds like you were lucky getting out of it. The new plane will be good for the family to cover some longer distances. Good to see the country side from the air again. Some good water around. Garmin looks good.
HA, Jack, you are in the exact position i was when i was 18 in South Africa. I wanted to fly in the Military and also choppers. After Basic Training i signed up and they put me through the 9 weeks hell and after i had passed all the theory and physical stress, they told me i cannot fly because i didn't have mathematics in my last two years of school. This was in 1975 so i guess they decided to just mess with my brain. Anyway, i went on into Infantry and beyond. cheers.
Hello Jack... The factory needs to thank you, this is really a great video.... Can you tell me what the performance is { climb/cruise }, I used to live with a C182, seriously considering this aircraft......... Thanks
Great video, I have always thought flying is a great skill, but by far and away the greatest of all skills is landing the thing and everyone walks away.😬👍
I'm not an aviator but I would put tearoffs on the perspex to prevent scratches. Something similar to motorcycle helmet tearoffs - they survive 300+ kph so should be OK on the plane. Supercars use large ones which would cover the plane's screens.
Gday Jack, awesome video this one, totally different view of the station from up there. Couple of questions… what sort of ceiling height can you fly at and what fuel does the aircraft use? Cheers Rob from Gero
Hi Jack. Try the Lightspeed Zulu Delta headset I use them. They are way better than the Bose for noisy aircraft like light sports, great noise cancelling and also has built in co2 sensor. Also I cleared the codes on the sister aircraft of yours at YPJT due to it being in failsafe mode. Make sure you always have well charged battery, 915 likes good power. Enjoy
G’day Jack. Just found your channel. I’ve been seriously considering a Ventura, but when I last enquired there was no first customer in Australia. Can I ask if you built it yourself? And what your build cost ended up (please let me know if you’d rather not disclose details in comments and I can give you some contact details). Cheers
G'day James, we got them built in South Africa by savannah aircraft and reassembled in Jandakot by AeroJacks. Flick us an email at prentidowns@gmail.com and we can discuss further. Thanks for reaching out.
Congrats on the new bird. Nice and shiny, please try and keep it like that 😂. The story on your misadventure with the other plane was great Jack. Most other people would have kept that one quite. So what did you do in the service? I think Ant will like the new wings! Cheers from Tassy..
not a pilot. Must be tricky with a passenger who wants to chat and take your focus off instruments and just flying. Great video can't get enough of them.
Tell ICP to make their aircraft water tight and why the heck aren't there paper tiedown fittings on the struts --such a small thing and Foxbat isn't doing it either.
Oh My.. Microfibre Cloths & Perspex do not go together. Your windshield will end up looking terrible really quick. Microfibre Cloths damage the surface including normal paintwork. I see the results of it all the time (Looks just like swirl marks) If your windscreen is dirty, start by splashing it down with soapy water (Automotive wash is fine) but don't touch it with any cloth, then rinse with clean water & Dry with a clean Chamois then apply your coating (Mr Sheen is a popular choice too as it doesn't harm the surface) Always, always use lint free cotten cloth. Anyway, Nice looking Aircraft. Back to the video. Cheers.
@@jack_out_the_back Thanks man, please do for the sake of your Aircraft & your vision! Some interesting stories in there, glad you survived. Share it if you will, 2020 wasn't that long ago. Cheers
Yes me also. Do you have your cross country endorsement? Id imagine you would not need a full PPL for the type of flying you are doing@@jack_out_the_back
Are your air traffic announcements just for the benefit of any other aircraft that might be in the area? There is no way air traffic control would hear that? I knew your physics skills were not great when you thought the hand rail on the grader would support the suspension a while back!
It's good habit, and we do get some traffic in the region. Builds up the confidence when going to areas with traffic! Haha yes that was a moment of error, fatigue is the biggest threat here!
Jack it is refreshing to hear such an honest and open chat about you life experiences. Thanks

Thanks for taking us along. I really enjoyed the over the shoulder view. New car smell in the new aircraft.
Wow. That was absolutely fascinating. I can totally understand why you enjoy the light aircraft flying. Great video. 👍
Jack, i would’ve thought that your new plane would be watertight! 🤦🏼♂️👍🏴
I envy you having such a space to fly in , I’m used to fitting in with local traffic.
Hi Jack, thanks for sharing your video. I enjoyed the flight with the Ventura (great plane).
Thank you for the long-form video…looking forward to the Savannah comparison…
NICE AIRCRAFT Jack awesome
Thank you very much Jack. I really enjoyed the flight in the new plane.
Hi ya Jack good to watch you doing the pre start yes I like the new work ute
Fascinating video. Thanks for the detail descriptions. Audio was good. Camera placement was great.
A sweet town car👍👏✌️
thanks for the flight Jack fantastic
You really do feel like you're in another world up there when flying
Super cool.
cheers for the info and the upload
Jim
Great way to look around 😁👍
Yeah I use VUplex too but it’s more like $28 from Bunnings . Was checking your Ventura out down in Bunbury today , trying to put my two bobs worth in on your cooling issue 😊
It surprises me as to how light and easy to move those planes are.
Great video Jack.
Thankyou for this video, ive been contemplating about getting this plane or the zenith 750.
Amazing

👍🏻🍻 watching Hello mate from Port Augusta south Australia
Thanks Glenn, Have a good one!
GREAT SOUTHERN LAND .............. AUSTRALIA !!!!!

Are the rear seats removable to turn this into a two seat aircraft with a larger baggage area?
Nice analog backup instruments. What brand did you install?
what are the performance and weight differences from the Lycoming and the Rotax models you have please?
We only have the Rotax engines, the Lycoming's that we have had in the past were in Glassairs
Gday Jack, awesome video this one, totally different view of the station from up there. Couple of questions… what sort of ceiling height can you fly at and what fuel does the aircraft use? Cheers Rob from Gero
Hi Rob, I have a ceiling limit of 10,000ft under my licence.
The aircraft has one much higher.
It's set for 95/98 but it can take Avgas if I need to.
What a great video I loved it, do you own the property, family property or just work on it ? What a journey from soldier to this.
Cheers David, family property that we purchased in 2015.
I was only a reservist while I was at uni.
@@jack_out_the_back no issues reservist or regular still the same, love the freedom and would love to work like you do since I discharged
We use Plexus for aircraft windows
Is the aircraft flying left wing low, or is it the camera angle?

Hi Glenn, I will do my best!
I was in Signals in the Army reserves.
Ant is yet to get in the new bird! But he was happy to fix the little one 😂

What is one of those worth in Aus dollars..About $200,000?
il y a une possibilité de pilot auto sur un ventura?
Yes, ours have the Garmin T3X touch which has autopilot features.
Tell ICP to make their aircraft water tight and why the heck aren't there paper tiedown fittings on the struts --such a small thing and Foxbat isn't doing it either.
Is she 'New' or just new to you?
New, first one in Australia, it's just under 50hrs now
@@jack_out_the_back Sweet
can you get like a clear replaceable bra for the windscreen ?
I am missing some engine noise.

Should paint it green then you could have budgie and a canary
always wipe the windscreen with vertical strokes never horizontal.
You can't fly that one with a RAA certificate?
No, not the VH registration, I have my RPL so I can fly VH.
