You do realize that Childish Gambino was purposely raising awareness of their song to help people from the same community as him rise up without having to directly give them money, right. It's a pretty basic Migos song but even if he didn't really like it, that was very cool of him, being an artist himself.
MeShannan That is true, won't argue with you there. BUT, the migos already have a huge following in their own culture. A culture who probably don't know half of the celebrities in that room and vice versa. Instead of promoting a sound that nobody knows and hoping at least one side will like it, promote something already liked and share it with others to bring two cultures closer. That's just ONE of the many ways to look at it.
Beto Uribe honestly it's just one of those things that people latch on to. They honestly probably put this song together in an hour just clowning around in their closet studio but people latched on to it. One of those things where the artist(s) had nothing to do with it but the consumers
I hate to be THAT GUY, Mr Rap Critic, but I feel the need to correct you on something. The term "Bourgeois" doesn't refer to French nobility, but rather the upper-lower class of French society prior to and during the French Revolution. They were still a part of the 3rd estate (the lower social class, behind the Nobility and Clergy), yet were separate from the Peasantry, because they owned small businesses and were far from rich and powerful, but not in dire poverty either. They were the driving force behind the revolution as their desire for some sort of political power which they prior to the revolution saw as the separating factor between themselves and the Nobility inspired the revolution in the first place. Therefore, the comparison between Chanel and takeout food or the Champagne in KFC is actually very fitting, as the Bourgeois did try to emulate their superiors, the nobility, yet keeping that element of lower class, e.g. The Sans Culottes and their extravagant clothing whilst still being incredibly poor. Other than that misunderstanding, great video.

Thank You for calling out ppl who make excuses for rappers doing their jobs badly. People keep saying you are a hater if you don't like lit music or whatever the hell they call it. Its not that, I think we just want some peope who can name a song, stay on topic with a little clever word play. Is it hard to rhyme nowadays? Cuz it seems like it.
MOney doesn't mean quality or succe artistically. Movies are good examples. Plenty of movies that were not top earners are highly respected and still remembered over whatever else happened to be big that year.
Bourgeois actually kinda means the opposite of nobility. Originally it denoted people living in the city, as opposed to the rural population, and so became associated with the middle class, tradesmen, merchants, etc. Basically the people who were free city dwellers instead of aristocrats or (usually unfree) farmers. From there is basically keeps the meaning of "middle class" business owners as opposed to nobles, but it's adopted by Marxists eventually to denote the Capitalist class, those who have capital. Part of Marxism is this idea that the interest of these business owner classes superseded nobility as society transitioned from Feudalism and Mercantilism to Capitalism.

Coherent Ideas and Concepts are Always important. I feel exactly like Rap Critic do the job you want but don't half ass. If your a rapper write a story or a simple idea and stick to that. Just stay on track. Simple 6th grade English concept sentence structure
ConsoleCadetz *you're a rapper
Please don't play yourself like that
Real lyrics confirmed by the Migos: Range drop, Drop top
It would be hilarious if someone played the whole rap game by pretending to be one of these new age rappers, and let's everyone know how easy it is when they make it. That has to happen
Big Shaq- man's not hot 😉
There are real rappers doing that right now. RC just proved it with Uzi, he knows he's ass he HAS to know he's ass lol
Wow you actually predicted Lil Pump?
@@thevarietychannelofyoutube4769 lil pump thinks he's good tho lol
Wakka Flakka Flame?
"Eat that, Kendrick!"
"Don't make it bad, *fleck*"
"Where you busy switching your flows and that's why ya kinda stopped rapping in the middle of that there? Was that the audio version of a loading screen?"
NobleShenron uzi ruined this song offset was the best one
No, if they're making money, people are stupid enough to ignore their faults.
ManOutofTime913 Thank you, I wasnt gonna say anything cuz he obviously missed my point and is the reason for the statement
MOney doesn't mean quality or succe artistically. Movies are good examples. Plenty of movies that were not top earners are highly respected and still remembered over whatever else happened to be big that year.
eartianwerewolf thank you
3:10 that’s marketability right there
Bourgeois actually kinda means the opposite of nobility.
6:03 I might be thinking too much, but I thought pronouncing the l’s was like combing the word with ‘toolie’ which is slang for gun, meaning he is like a hood version of ratatouille
that's clever actually.... so I am pretty sure he wasn't thinking that... he just saw the word and mispronounced it
My final project for college.
A film called
"KFC and a hot-tub."
Seeing how much uzi has grown makes me smile
I've waited for this day, when I would find someone who fully represents my ideals towards the Hip Hop genre. . .I haven't stopped laughing and agreeing with your points since I've found you. Subscribed
Just gonna point this out, but people never spelled it Bourgeois.
they spelled it Bougie until Migos changed it up.
Bourgeois is the original word, Bougie is the slang, shortform version of it, so they have never been pronounced or spelled the same way.
0:54 The word does not refer to the nobility. It refers to the class of property owners, the middle class, the capitalists.
it’s crazy to look back at these vids and seeing what the first thoughts of these now sometimes beloved songs now😂
I feel like Gambino is being sarcastic xD
Rap critic, most musicians are broke, the chains are bought by the label for them. They are literally given chains. Blame the label for migos only giving 1000 dollar
when he went in on Uzi's verse😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
When j heard the "we are winning" lyric for the first time I started laughing out loud. Like, really?
