This is a fantastic ankle/foot prosthetic. The issue is it's not affordable for anyone except maybe amputee military veterans. I can only dream about having a prosthetic like this and walk like that again. I'm 65, so insurance would never approve me for this. Keep up the great work.

    Most advanced prosthetic leg ever

Wish this stuff would be more of a priority for "civilian" use. I get it that military gets priority due to funding, but the trickle down on this "cool" stuff means I'll likely never see it in my lifetime. It's pretty awful knowing the tech is possible, but impossible to reach without incredibly deep pockets.

What has happened to this technology? It has been 5 years since this video. Is it still researched, miniaturised, getting more advanced? This seems like a great and simple tech compared to current basic and high end prosthetic feet. I really hope this didn’t end somewhere in the warehouse as just prototype…

It looks cool, no doubt. I’m also glad that the big companies and pouring $ into R&D. But in reality it’s much too complicated and much too expensive for most of us. We will need to get by on a $5k foot, not a $60k foot.

Hi I’ve been using the biom ankle for about 5 years now. My batteries just went out on me and it’s been a real hassle to replace. Ottobock is saying they can’t replace the battery because they no longer manufacture them and want me to spend 120000 on new hydraulic feet. :( please help I really would like to try these feet I’m done with bioms and ottobock..

@@DyingOvaColorz do you think it would be possible to manufacture a replacement? With some 3D-printing and a step up/down Converter it should be possible to fit in another modern battery and convert it exactly to the right polarity, voltage and dimensions…
