Seeing these guys out there you can see how excited they are to be in the clubhouse, chatting it up on the field, the guys in this independent league don't even realize that if they don't make it any further than this, this will still be the best time of their life. I'm in my 30s now, I played in high school and I was on the JV team at my division 2 college and what I wouldn't do to be able to sign a one day and pitch a few innings again. The kids I coach in high school don't even realize they have their entire lives to work crappy jobs but their Time playing sports is limited and everyone looks back on that time fondly. Play as long as you can.
This is an amazing moment for the both of you, and I am so happy that you were able to experience this. And amazing for Eric to reconnect with his host family. Truly happy for the both of you.
