I love By the Bay. The frame and mat are perfect. Im sure it is beautiful on your fireplace. Sounds like you had a wonderful time at retreat. The exchange you received was amazing. You have been a busy girl. All of your stitching is awesome, as well as how you share stories of friends, retreats, travels and family. You are truly blessed. Happy stitching.
Carolyn you said it right, I am truly blessed. I have enjoyed the travel to retreats to meet other stitchers and renew friendships and I have enjoyed the finishes I've had by my Christmas in July focus. I am grateful for it all. Dena
Dena, You look fabulous, Love your hair keep up what ever your doing. Your video is wonderful. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY plus COCO. I have been stitching all most 60 years. I stitch everyday. Your Friend Jo 🤗🤗🤗
Jo, thanks so much for the kind remarks about my appearance. I have a new cut and I like it very much. WOW, congrats on enjoying our hobby for so many years. Dena
Loved seeing all of your progress, Dena. Congratulations on your Madame La Fee finish, it looks beautiful. And then there was your By the Bay 13th Colony! 😍 It is stunning! The colours are gorgeous and the framing looks amazing. What a treasure to have hanging on your wall. Always fun to hang out with you while I stitch and hear what you and the family have been up to. Take care. ❤️
Kris, thanks for visiting again. I appreciate your kind compliments on my two big finishes! It has been fun voting for your new starts on your channel. Dena
Thank you Dena for this latest catch up. Your needles are on 🔥! Fabulous finishes this month. Neige et Montaigne is absolutely gorgeous, as is the framing of By the Bay - it looks amazing. July has been a good month. Glad Cocoa enjoyed her holiday too! Keith and I were away for a couple of nights this week and the welcome we got from our fur babies was hilarious - you would have thought we had been gone for 2 months! Thanks again and happy stitching x
Susan, you are so right, our fur babies miss us so much when we are gone and even if I go to an all day event like I did today, Cocoa acts like I've been gone a week. I brought her a gift today from my friend Donna and she took exactly 20 minutes to rip off the ears, tag and tail. Now the head (with a ball on the inside) is all that is left but it squeaks so she is happy, happy. LOL. Dena
Hi Dena I absolutely loved By the Bay and the framing was perfect. It will definitely look beautiful over your mantle above the fireplace. I'm glad you had a wonderful time at the retreat. The exchange you received is beautiful. I will by the end of the month of what I stitched in July and will send you pictures. In the meantime Happy Stitching and be safe and kind. God bless Pat
Pat, I so enjoyed your email this morning with all your pictures and descriptions of what you worked on. Thank you for taking the time to list all that for me. Can't wait to see what you are up to in August. Dena
Oh my lord, Dena, you are such an enabler… I am currently working on Kringles, only after purchasing the pattern when I saw your beautiful finish. Now I’m seriously thinking about purchasing Snow and Mountains by Madame La Fee. Your finish is beyond beautiful. Madame La Fee has some lovely patterns… in my “to start” pile is her La Nuit de Noel (Christmas Night) which should be a joy to stitch, but Little House’s Kringles needs to be finished before I tackle any Madame Ka Fee pattern. Congratulations again on your amazing finish.
Thanks Norma for the congrats! I have another Madame La Fee I want to stitch (Joy Bells). I am so delighted that you are working on Kringles and especially happy that I had any small part in you starting it. Dena
Nina, I enjoyed your latest flosstube video. I will miss seeing you as you take more time between videos. I do hope you will stop in an update us when you can though. Dena
@@halfstitchcrossstitch2456 thank you so much. I was thinking maybe I give 'your' style a go. Filming in small pieces, when I have something to show or finish my rotation. Happy stitching
@@halfstitchcrossstitch2456 Sadly, I haven’t done a video in a couple of months. This summer has been a struggle; I’m getting some stitching done, but just can’t seem to find time to film.
Emjay, my Neige et Monagne is finished and framed also. Finished it in Alabama at retreat and was able to put it in an off the shelf frame. You will see it in my upcoming video. Dena
Hi Dena Love all of your WIPS - They are very pretty. Especially The Nativity. This is just beautiful. Great Progress on this. Take Care & Happy Stitching ❤️🤗
Your By The Bay finish is lovely! It sounds like you have been to some amazing retreats. Yes, one Teresa Wentzler at a time is plenty! I have one that I almost OFO'd but decided that I need to finish it. All of those blended threads, oh my!
Cathy, it is true, the number of blends is overwhelming, but her color palettes are amazing. Good to hear from you! Hoping to come to your next stitching meet up if I can. Dena
13th Colony...oh my goodness! That is an epic stitch and so beautiful!! I like to have bookmarks ahead for friend gifts so I have been working on some fast stitches for those. Back stitching is not my friend...I know it looks great when it's finished but I am sure I am not doing it right most of the time! Even though Cocoa has fun with her friends, I bet she was so happy to be home!
Lynn, You and I are similar in that I love to have my friend's stitched gifts completed as early as I can. Cocoa seems very happy to be home. She is at the groomers today so she might not be quite as happy. LOL. Dena
Hi Dena, well the snow and mountains looks beautiful , the colours pop. A great trip away glad you enjoyed it, congratulations on the framing choice for by the bay so lovely x
Hi Dena - your By the Bay is gorgeous as well as your winter piece that you finished! Totally agree that the frame is perfect .. it will be stunning for sure hanging above the mantle. Loved hearing abt your busy weeks & seeing your FOs & WIPs. Have a great week & Happy Stitching!!
Kathy, thanks so much for the kind words regarding my By the Bay 13th Colony piece. I did some fully finishing this weekend so I will share that next time. Happy Stitching! Dena
@halfstitchcrossstitch2456 looking forward to seeing them. I have many that I need to FFO .. but afraid to take that leap. I've got a few that I want framed .. mostly by HobLob or my LNS but I do have a couple smaller ones that I'd like to bite the bullet on & do it myself. But I'm so hesitant. I have some others that I want to take to my LNS to have finished. I have taken some finishing classes & learned some different pillow finishing. I'd love to learn how to sew to make some of the cutesy pillows I see all the time. One day!! 😂 Happy Stitching & have a great week!
Hi Dena! I know you are glad to be finished with that Christmas piece but it is very pretty. The framed piece turned out wonderfully, it will look great above your mantle. Take care.
Wow the retreat sound so good. Love how they did their exchange. And all those finishes Congrats wow. Ohhhh your framed piece is gorgeous. Yes there is a TW winter fairy. Catching up on your videos hoping to make more progress tomorrow. Happy stitching Patty
Dena...beautiful framing of By the Bay...it is such a delightful pattern...congratulations on your other finishing...I am glad you had a great time...thank you for sharing your retreats with us...your #1 draw is precious...glad that Cocoa's home with you two special people❤❤
Loretta, thanks so much for going along with me to the retreats. I have enjoyed them so much and so far have dodged the COVID that seems to be popping up at both retreats (this last one more so than the first!). Dena
Thank you the update! Your framed By the Bay is beautiful! Will be a great focal piece in your home. Thanks for Christmas in July. Finished 2 WIPS and 1 start and finish for now. The latter is Liz Mathews 12 days of Xmas and next piece is not available. All Christmas is done now. Onto Olympic stitching… happy stitching.
Cheryl, I have one more Christmas WIP to work on before the end of the month and I will count Christmas in July done! I have had a great time as well. Dena
It was great catching up with you this morning. Wow, you are getting all the finishes. Your needle is on fire 🔥. Thank you for sharing all about the retreat.
Thanks Kanday! I am now experiencing Startitis so I did some planning for starts for the upcoming year. Includes lots of the series I have stitched one or two in so look forward to that next year. Dena
Your finishes are beautiful!!!! Loved hearing all about the retreat and seeing all you've done on your Christmas stitching. I failed horribly!!! I am stitching Teresa Koguts sampler and much to my dismay. .. I am really a monogamous stitcher!!!! I never start another piece until I finish one, even tho I would like to and think about it all the time. I have so many beautiful pieces to do, just can't do it!!! Haha!!! Thanks for keeping in your mind someday to show me how you keep your place while stitching, I appreciated you answering me!
It was so much fun and I so enjoyed getting to sit with you and to dine with you and Ray! I am looking forward to next March and you guys hopefully coming to Helen, Georgia. Dena
Hello Dena The finished pieces are beautiful. The girl in the garden is delightful cannot wait to see your finish. You must be proud of your stitching and framing of 13th colony. Have you stitched All Creatures Great and Small ? What you manage to achieve is so inspirational and you spur me on. Happy stitching
I have not stitched All Creatures Great and Small, nor have I stitched His Eye is on the Sparrow etc. I am trying to keep away from another epic piece right now and finish some of my medium pieces. Dena
Oh my your By the Bay turned out beautifully ❤❤. It's going to look great above the fireplace ❤. Congratulations on your other finishes as well. I was wondering, you mentioned a tool to count your fabric could you share where I could find one, I have trouble with counting fabric I can't see it as well as I use to 😅
The tool is a guide to measure the count, whether it is a 28, 32, 36 or 40, etc. It isn't a tool to help with counting the fabric while stitching. Sorry for the confusion on that. Dena
Dena 13th Colony is Fabulous. Perfect frame for it also . Miss Christmas Eve is beautiful. Have you seen Gary's conversion o Miss Halloween Eve? Thanks for sharing Happy stitching
