  • Smartphones are bad for you. But it isn't just your attention span that your phone is attacking. Your cell phone is doing more harm than you realise.

    Great editing! But do make sure that your voice is the loudest thing in the mix, because your sfx and bg music kinda overpowered it

    if this is your editing, it is awesome.
    but i have several issues with the information, I respect your research but those are somewhat misleading and i dont want education to be that way.
    (as someone releted to biology and psychology field of science )
    1) it is not ALWAYS dopamine. Though, that is the most frequent chemical messenger in our neurons, but it is not "the reason" , there is still much research needed to decipher it.
    2) "your amagdela increases" ... it cannot. brain cells cannot divide such as our skin cell, there are certain numbers of these neurons that can be developed. You could say that "chemo-tropic response of amagdela increases/ decreases.
    3) well sure the functioning of amagdela is related to anxiety, amagdela is not responsible for that, instead it controls the hot emotions such as fear, grief, excitement, rage etc
    4) about that white and grey matter. The brain is the collection of neurons( in simple definition), and neurons, in anatomy, consist of 3 major part. Out of which one is covered with sheaths which appear white and hence called white matter and the other is not, hence grey. Again they cannot increase.
    and about EMF , well all colours are EMF ..its about the energy they contain:)

    Very good advice at the end with putting your phone in another room lmfao, I might try that myself, although I am not addicted or often engage with my phone outside of text, call, and apps like discord (to communicate with my friends) and insta/youtube (to watch informational media regarding computer science), I still feel an urge myself to check my phone once and a while like a maniac xP

    this attention span stuff is complete bs. by definition attention span means: the length of time for which a person is able to concentrate mentally on a particular activity. And your really think its is 6 seconds? thats crazy, not even worth humoring. Nothing would ever get done if that were to be true.

    • @Blackout_77
      @Blackout_77 Місяць тому +1

      This isn’t true as he’s probably citing average attention span which is around 6-8 seconds and your attention span can range anywhere from 2 seconds to 30 minutes

    • @Blackout_77
      @Blackout_77 Місяць тому +1

      This means you like most other people have a lower average attention span then a goldfish

    • @Blackout_77
      @Blackout_77 Місяць тому +1

      Our average attention spans may be affected by the fact we often have many ideas drift by that we give little attention which does affect our attention span average so it being lower than a goldfish’s shouldn’t be an area of great concern our

    • @Blackout_77
      @Blackout_77 Місяць тому +1

      lowering attention spans are probably a result of extra information which msg or may not be a good thing

      @@Blackout_77 this attention span is only measured through a screen it assumes that everyone is permanently online and never does anything apart from look at a screen. when you look at shit data and find shit results then play them as fact is indeed crazy.
