Thanks a lot for this video, my Peugeot 307 2003 1.6l had P0216 and P0211 trouble codes and sometimes it stopped responding to gas pedal completely, it continued to respond after restarting the engine. I cleaned the throttle body and the problem was gone for like 20 kilometers, but MIL and the problem of not responding to gas pedal came back. After that I cleaned and lubed the gas pedal sensor connector and the problem has been gone completely now! I was afraid to fix this issue myself, because I have never even changed a light bulb in a car before, but this video was so informative and inspiring that I actually fixed a car problem by myself for the first time ever! Thank you so much :).
My Citroen C2 1.6 TU5JP4S had a problem with idling, and didn't rev nicely until 2k rpm. After cleaning throttle body, and the MAP sensor, it really helped a lot, now it idles and revs nicely. Kudos to this video!
I appreciate your video. I cleaned mine and my idle is now smooth. As an observation... you really don't have to remove anything else than the air duct coming from the filter. It gives you plenty of room to work. 5 minute job.
I think that work only for cleaning but for replacing it one should make all the steps he showed in the video. Thanks for sharing your experience. I am trying to gather the courage to clean the throttle from my Peugeot for a while now bot I do not have a garage.
Serios, dureaza 5 minute. Curaj si succes!

Very nice video! I have an issue with my 307 1.4 8v 75ps. When i press the clutch to change gear or stop, sometimes the engine immediately shuts down (rpms go from 2000-3000 etc to 0). I tried to clean the map sensor and replace the idle valve, but the same happened again. I don' t know which part is causing the problem because the ecu don' t have any error. Everything else (engine performance, idle speed etc are perfect). Do you have any idea?
@@Parasau_kartais-us5ij For some reason when I replaced the clutch set, the issue resolved. I don't know exactly what was happening. Maybe the ECU program is not perfect, and with worn out clutch the engine disangages more quickly with the gearbox and the ECU is not ready to supply fuel and air for idling (because when you roll downhill - with gear - without pressing the accelator the fuel stops completely). I am not sure but this is my guess.
@@orfeas92 Thanks for the reply. My car's clutch is in pretty bad shape, I guess I may have to do the same as you. In any case, when the problem is solved, I will write what I had to do.
So... as promised I will write the solution to my (Peugeot 307 1.6 80kw petrol) problem. According to the author of this video, the problem was timing. In my case, this happened to me too, the only difference is that my engine was assembled correctly, but the timing belt, timing belt tensioner and water pump were in very poor condition, so they moved unevenly and did not do their full job. Replacing the timing belt (also timing belt tensioner and water pump) solved the problem.
Is it possible to damage throttle body with nitroglycerin? I used it to clean and now ‘antipollution fault came on’. Perhaps it could be only air leak somewhere when i connected it? Can you rev up car without hose which is connecting Throttle body with Air filter? Thanks in advance!
Have you done a video regarding the Idle Valve?. I am having problems with below "9rpm" it shows oil pressure insufficient and after clearing the swamp, oil pickup and servicing the oil pump, its the last think that could be an issue.
I took the complete housing off on my citroën Berlingo 2003 1.6 petrol same engine and the dirt inside that was a lot, I also capped my egr so now I have more power and better mpg 😂👍
How do you relearn the throttle afterwards . I have a Peugeot 307 1.4 16v petrol . I've done a cam belt change on the car and cleaned the throttle body . But now when I start it up the revs are high and no response hardly on the throttle pedal and then when temperature gets up , the car revs up my itself . One minute it will start and then it won't . To get it to start I have to turn ignition on wait 20 sec and turn ignition off and then it starts. But revs are high and then revs die down and then up and then stalls . Can u please tell me the relearn procedure without having to buy a lexia 3 diagnostic . I've looked on Google but not much information on how to relearn the throttle. It's a fly by wire on mine.
Hi Jimmy, To be honest I have never done that before. I would like to help you out so I will read a bit myself. What have you used to clean the throttle body? Perhaps there is some internal damage to the throttle body wiring inside? I suspect that you will need to connect to OBD-II in order to do the reset. I have only tried with PP2000 but Lexia 3 should work as well. I also know that there are other more expensive interfaces that are available on the market but this is definitely not worth buying to fix the throttle body alone. Consider going to the car mechanic - I paid 15 Dollars to connect the advanced interface to mine about one year ago. Perhaps such option is the cheapest and fastest? I will let you know if I find out some more info. Cheers
I just used throttle body cleaner and just spray a slight amount on the metal housing and flap and wiped it dry and let it air dry for a few mins . I've got a pretty good scanner tool , and showing code u1118 , p0500 , p0340 , p0341 . When I connect to live data and have the engine running to see the graphs. When I go to switch engine off , the car still carrys on running , even with the ignition completely off and pull key out . I have to run round to engine and choke it out, with my hand over the intake . It does this every time I plug my scanner in and revs up by itself . Is my scanner upsetting the ecu . I've used my scanner on cars before and never done that. The cars got a mind of its own.
Hmm... Then I would check the sensor for the gas pedal. Symptoms on the car and u1118 code would indicate the fault there. Another question, have you recently changed timing belt? It seams like it might slip one tooth or the crank / camshaft sensor is faulty. What do you think?
I brought the car with cam belt snapped . So I changed the cam belt and a few valves what had bent and put new head gasket on . I'm also getting codes, p0012 and that saying variable timing electovalve locked at lower stop . And code p0341 which means, cylinder reference 1 open circuit , short circuit to positive , short to earth . I'm at a complete loss with it now and don't know where to start first on it.
Perhaps you can check the sensors with multimeter? The method might be to start ruling out things so you are left with less and less to check. Even though it sounds like a process :)
