As an english subscriber I appreciate you guys so much speaking in english. Its dope to see the antics yall are getting up to! Also being able to see world class climbers project in real time on youtube is wild!!!
My gym has been setting routes, lead and top, and boulders w wooden holds I make. I love climbing on them. Beastmaker makes some of the nicest wood holds in the industry.
I really enjoyed your new video. Also, the new climbing gym looks amazing. Obviously way too hard for me but amazing nevertheless. Looking forward for your next video, Alex. And, most importantly, keep the good vibes alive! Cheers!
I recently put up a lot of wooden holds on my home wall for winter training. If anyone else is thinking about doing the same, it's not difficult to make your own. If you live in an area that has a lot of climbing, you'll probably be able to find some local businesses that sell them. Otherwise, Metolius wooden holds are relatively cheap and sold by retailers. On the other hand, Beastmaker wooden holds are VERY, VERY expensive. They do have nice metal inserts to prevent the screw from digging too deep, but it doesn't justify the crazy markup.
I have a lot of beastmaker holds on my home wall. I'm glad I bought them years ago before the hype, considering how expensive they are nowadays😅what a crazy, but cool idea, to put them on a route!
awesome. the only downside to wooden holds is; how would we distinguish the different climbs? most gyms have textured walls so tape doesnt work because it gets stuck and is pretty impossible to take off unless the walls are smooth. im not sure if dying wooden holds would be an option or not, how well would the color stay after dozens of powerwashes? i love the wooden hold idea either way
in the past we sometimes used thumb tacks in combination with (laminated) pieces of paper in different colors or with different symbols on them to identify different routes on spraywalls. not an ideal solution but better than nothing I suppose
How would conditions affect a wooden climb? I don't really know but my guess is that the window for good conditions would be narrower for wooden routes than plastic routes which could be a problem in a comp.
but at the same time, climbers may prefer it because of it being a bit easier on your skin. Not remotely close to being a pro climber, but they always talk about having to tape up for every non comp move they do in order to make sure they have skin left.
Lg Ramon
it's kind of a joke power scream that you hear people make sometimes. it's a reference to (i think) chris sharma who used to power scream like that for a while
Not sure whether or not @lucaa4480 gave you the correct answer but I think it is correct. On the moon board, which has a mixture of wood and PU holds, the rule "no foot on wood" exists as well. And, if you ever had a moon board session before, you see why this rules makes sense. From a wood hold you just can't brush off the rubber residues like you could from a PU hold. Over time all the wood holds become black and filthy.
❤❤❤ Supergeil! Freut mich total, dass hier wieder Leben reinkommt. Dort habe ich 2003 das Klettern angefangen. 😊 Für mich und sicher viele andere Nostalgie pur.
i've seen you wear the Oasis and was wondering how well they hold up. cause i hear the closure system can get worn through quite quickly and i don't really wanna spend 160 bucks on something that wont even last a year y'know? that the sole needs changing is obvious but that's an easy fix. it's just the rest of the durability that concerns me thought there was no better place than here to ask lol p.s: love the videos, always been a huge inspiration
@alexandermegos8129 - you are missing a crack feature in the gym. I can understand that most indoor sport climbers simple overlook that aspect of climbing but since you're an outdoorsy person I would assume that you do indeed know how to climb cracks (and not just the wideboyz).
Adam and Alex posting videos about wooden holds at exactly the same time (like even to the minute) is a crazy coincidence...
The universe is trying to tell us something...
that would be called a paid marketing campaign
I don’t know it’s two different hold companies. Who’s paying for the campaign? Wood distributors lol?

the setting with max and chris commenting is just good😂

Releasing a video at the same time as Ondra with wooden holds but your video is 100 times better. Way more authentic
Albo Jakob Schubert posting at the same hour! :D
"Max! What is going on?"
"We have new holz"
I've been dreaming about a wooden sport climb. Love wood holds, I hope more setters do this in future.
I really enjoyed your new video. Also, the new climbing gym looks amazing. Obviously way too hard for me but amazing nevertheless. Looking forward for your next video, Alex. And, most importantly, keep the good vibes alive! Cheers!
Im glad to see the consistency with the „no foot on Wood“ rule
This is what the climbing world needed most and I‘m not even kidding
Great vid as always ! You emanate a lot of positivity and it's just so good. Life could indeed be worser without it. Thanks to the 3 Musketeers
Great video guys, love the wooden holds. Your climbing gym is coming along nicely. Thanks for the upload
One of the coolest gym videos ive seen in a while.
I would love to see wooden holds in comps
We would love that too!

These holds look amazingggg! I love wood so much more than plastic, which just destroys the skin
First a wooden boulder at la sportiva legends only, now a wooden route at the legends Germans only 🔥
Cool vibes in this video! Love the style :)
Es macht einfach gute Laune euch zuzuschauen 😊.
Such nice holds! Beastmaker kills it!

wow that route looks gruesome, sick send!
NOOOOO Where is the link for Chris' yoga classes!? 😭
I like to think the Universe is big enough that on some distant galaxy, Malexander Egos has already claimed the "Universe First" wooden sport route
You guys have top level banter hahaha

Great setting
One of our local setters makes his own wooden holds and has been setting sport routes with them at our gym for a few years now.
And do you use the wooden holds for foot holds too?
@@alexandermegosAM Yes, but they aren't very popular because of how slick they get.
Nice Rolex Explorer!
That Explorer II 🥰
those holds are beautiful!
Cool video!
I can't find the link to the biceps curl classes. 😢
4:02 Best part
Disqualify when they step on wood, that's a nice thought 😅
Why no foot on wood though? Does ist damage them?
A lot of rubber stays on wood, and after some time it makes this holds impossible to hold
Nixe video but why all the quickdraws are cliped in the same direktion?
How much wood would a Wood Chuck chuck if a Wood Chuck could chuck wood
Dimitri moves really really well, which is his max grade?
what happens if you step on wooden holds? does the rubber of the climbing shoe make it slippery or something?

FIRST !!! ALEX I FUCKING LOVE YOU
I have zero doubt that Alex sent this with no issues, but would loved to have watched this without the cuts in the video.
Nice Alex! Any thoughts on Jakob clash of the titans upgrade? You must have been in good shape!
good wood :)
Hi Alex, this is interesting but what about to go to Spain and climb Sleeping lion? Could be your style right?..🙂
Other than wrecking the holds is there a reason for “no feet on wood”?
Nice Rolex Alex!
Present from my parents 🙏🏼
💯💪🏻
What watch is that alex is wearing?

We got a wood route in our gym as well, but its only crimpedges all the way and they are greasy af
nice .. pls establish wood and rock holds in the gyms
that black warm up climb that Chris did looks really nice, probably 8a
and why does he scream Passat when climbing ? new power scream ?

sehr cool
Noob question, but why not feet on wood ? Great video as always !
I think because the rubber of the shoes ruin the wood

That is correct. It destroys the wooden holds and it gives us nightmares
@jonasjohajohanson9517 But Tensionboard is all wood and there doesn't seem to be a problem...
Wait til he hears about climbing trees
The draws on the Beastmaker route are all backwards.😉
And you get many more disqualifications 😅 hehe always positive
the holds look very confortable
