Rey is a character that has a LOT of issues, as well as the Sequel Trilogy. But Daisy Ridley, as well as the rest of the cast, did their best effort they could give on portraying these characters. I just hate that they are the ones that sometimes takes the blame on something it wasn't even their fault, like Hayden years ago. I hope everything goes alright with Daisy, she deserves it.
I do believe that you only fail if you believe you fail. When critics panned the prequels george lucas didn't care and produced an animated show that made everyone love those characters. It makes me happy seeing daisy ridley as rey get another chance.
When your character at their core is so fundamentally badly written no matter how good of a performer you are you are bound to fail. I Wouldn't want to be in her shoes right now. She is set up for failure
