- The annual Ballinasloe horse market in Ireland is one of the oldest and largest in Europe. It is said that even Napoleon Bonaparte bought his stallion Morengo here. The fair takes place every October and is the main event in the small town. It attracts up to 80,000 visitors - and not only from Ireland and neighbouring countries, but even from Australia!

In the rolling landscapes of Ireland, there are many horses. The island has more horses per person than any other European country. Miley Cash is a horse dealer and the grand old man of the fair. He often buys more than eighty horses a year and sells most of them to customers in England and France.
