Bruce, I realize this is an older video, but that does not matter, when it comes to learning great techniques, especially since I'm fairly new.. great vid!! Question-- I have a customer that wants a laced rifle scabbard.. I believe this would really look great.. have you done anything, of that size?? I know I'll have to start and stop with more lace... will I be able to achieve the look and hold, by hiding lace, and starting again?? Figure it will take quite a bit of lace!! Lol. Thanks again.. I've subscribed a while back..I really enjoy watching you, and hearing you explain what your doing!
I was making a rifle sling I carved letters on it and I wanted to keep them natural and was wondering if I should put resist on them before I put some oil then die or resist and oil it then dye
Bruce, of the two machines Cobra 4 or Cowboy CB4500, which one do you like the best? I’m on the fence and trying to make a decision. I appreciate you and your channel!
Johnny, It's a tossup they are very similar in the way they are made each so very well. I have the Cowboy CB4500 and my brother has two of the Cobras and they are awesome and a really cool color. Next time I think I will go with a Cobra. I don't think you can go wrong with either machine. When buying a machine you can actually get them to throw in extra attachments if you if you bargain with them a little bit... Much like car shopping for the best deal. Thanks for asking and good luck with your leather working.
Hi Johnny, I have the CB5500 cowboy machine which is the long arm version of the CB4500. They are great machines and the servo motor & speed reducer make it so easy and a pleasure to sew. It was after seeing Bruce sewing on a Cowboy that I finally decided to buy one.
As an artist...your lace is too heavy...overpowers that beautiful scroll work you did...thinner lace or better yet cord would have accentuated the shape and design better...i am just a few years your junior.. And have 40 plus yrs in the professional creative field

Thank You so much! I think lacing your scabbard like this will be awesome you will just have to splice the lace leather a couple times.

Hi Bruce, Noah here from Waller, Tx.
Another great project. Those sheaths came out great. Keep up the good work and keep the videos coming.
Great looking sheath! And if you hand stitch, it's way faster this way!
Thank You!
Awesome work Bruce. What weight leather do you use for those if you don't mind me asking.
Nicely done, Amigo!!! That's the first video I've seen using this type of lacing...really looks nice!!!

Aqui é do Brasil. Muito bom seus trabalhos, parabéns.
Thanks for watching!
Bonitinho.
Poderia aprender umas costuras de borda no El Rincón del Soguero, para valorizar mais o trabalho de repuxado, que é espetacular.

Tan-Kote or Fiebing's Pro-Resist should work.
Hi Bruce great videos.I have a question on oil dyes, how long do you wait until you top coat your project thanks.
With oil dyes just a few minutes and you should be good to go. Different story with acrylic allow a couple hours at least.
I just love this little piece. Have you ever put the beveled side outward?
No but that is a good idea! That would look pretty cool.

Just bought a cb 4500 i might be half as good as you in 10 years lol.
Whish I can make one that nice 👍 I
Thanks! Thank you for watching.
Can you make a video on how to make the sheath. You only showed how to stitch not how to make it
Here is a link to a 7 part knife sheath making video series I made ua-cam.com/video/z1Sg6Io9enw/v-deo.html
