- In this episode of Hermitcraft Season 10, Mumbo finally gains access to his Hermitcraft Minecraft starter base. We make use of Minecraft redstone engineering, and interesting Minecraft redstone contraptions to make it work. We also do a Hermitcraft prank on Iskall85, scare GoodTimesWithScar and much more!

Honestly I think that structure would be just fine if the pole that comes out and holds the structure in real life was extended a fair amount into the mountain. I think it would be no problem. But there’s a lot more than just that going into probably. Likely would need to make the hole concrete or something and a bunch of other stuff so maybe it wouldn’t be possible.

Hear me out.... Your base needs a death chamber underneath it, where you can enter with items, get killed instantly and spawn in the base, but all the items you 'lost' are then picked up via hopper minecarts, fed into the system you built today, and all follow you up there into the chests.
Pufferfish chamber with hoppers.
But have a dispenser spit it out onto a slime block on a piston to bounce it up to him in the base.
Then it's perfect!

Now you just need a redstone contraption to get you into the moth ball. Maybe you press a button, the blocks are pulled out from under you, you fall onto dripstone. Items you drop can be collected and sent to the moth ball. As a side benefit, when Grian is unable to resist pushing the button, you can also receive whatever happens to be in his inventory at the time.

Mumbo is really a chaotic energy this season. Joking (maybe serious) destruction of the really efficient slime farm and throwing them out. The editing cut in the last video with Iskall. The system for getting in the base that will inevitably annoy a lot of people. And now the block placement count at Iskalls house. I am honestly all for it, keep it up mumbo

Season 10 feels completely different than previous seasons, the server feels so alive this season. It feels good to see everyone hanging out, and some of the jokes and pranks this season are really funny. In previous seasons it felt like the runaway scale kind of turned the hermits into... well, hermits, who mostly just worked on mega bases on their own. It feels nice to see the "friends hanging out" aspect take center stage again.
I felt like this about season 8 with the big settlement. Which is why I was really bummed that they cut that Season short
it feels like season 7 again!
Season 8 was the season that did this the best in my eyes. I think season 10 will be like most other seasons: everyone starts close and then gradually expands outwards, away from each other
@@bobthebox2993I'm not quite sure about that as a lot of hermits have expressed that they want more time focusing on being around each other and less on massive projects but we'll have to wait and see! I do think it's more likely to happen that we get more connectivity as the audience now prefers it so theyd be more incentivised to give us that content since its better for the algorithm but, again, I can't predict the future.

Its a blessing and a curse for me because while this is the most addicting season ever, I'm also working on quitting social media and cutting back on UA-cam and the past week has been the most difficult one since I started. 😂

I think the thing I’m most impressed with this episode is how Mumbo was able to have a full on conversation with Iskall while focusing on placing blocks and making sure he wasn’t paying attention. That is some serious multi tasking lol

As a person who has no knowledge on engineering, I can confirm that this build is structurally sound and up to code.
The editing and humor in these videos have been top tier! I always enjoy all Hermitcraft, but I haven’t laughed this much so consistently in quite the while. Amazing work! 😆
I hope that the bit about pretending to destroy and rebuild the slime farm lasts all season, and that you continue to use the exact same frames of footage each time. It was very funny in this video, but it's the sort of joke that only gets funnier with repetition and time. Great episode!

The "destroying the slime farm" for 4 slimeballs bit caught me so off guard. Man I wish these videos were longer just because I want more Mumbo but these are truly a masterclass in editing! So happy Mumbo's feeling refreshed for season 10 every episode has been a riot so far

As someone who has never touched anything to do with engineering… I think a chicken with a lead can perfectly hold up that entire structure so good job Mumbo 👍👍
As a mechanical engineer, considering a margin of safety of 0.2 structural chickens, the 2 leads is more than enough to hold the base. Although, considering the environmental hazard named "grian" I would consider installing a structural pig.

There's one aspect you missed about all this. He said he had a reason for the slime at the end of the prior episode. At the beginning of THIS episode, he reveals that it's for the leads for the structural chickens. An idea borne of the comments from the first video. Comments he *couldn't possibly have seen* while he was STILL RECORDING!

However, the Mothball isn't significantly any more stable, because those ropes aren't under any tension. To use the proper term, they're "slack". In order to make it more realistically stable, you would have to either support the main bubble from underneath, or connect the main bubble to a support structure further up the mountain, otherwise it would be too heavy, and likely break off of the stick.
So what you're saying is, he needs more chickens.
@@renoirmedeiros1777 Preferably connected to the main structure rather than the bridge. All the chickens are doing at the moment, if anything, is keeping the bridge attached to the mountain, but there's hardly anything keeping the bubble attached to the bridge.

@@renoirmedeiros1777 I would say the simple solution is to connect the sheep ropes from the bridge to the bubble. That way the tension is distributed through the ropes rather than the stone, which is likely way better in compression.

You need two more chickens to attach to the farther fences for it to be up to code. While your current setup does the job temporarily, in the event of an unprecedented natural disaster, such as a light gust or a sniffer's sneeze, your structure would collapse entirely. Hope this helps!
I doubt the length of the lead would suffice. A possibility: Make two cages out of trapdoor above the current fences, put structural chicken inside said cages and link these to the farther fences. Then you can put two more structural chickens inside the walls and link them to a fence post above the cage. If he's felling fancy, I'd advise structural pig for these ones as they need to be stronger due to leverage.

I think a healthy medium in between safety and money would be to use wardens instead of pigs. I know it wouldn’t be as structurally sound as pigs but it would be cheaper than pigs

You should make a campfire with hopper underneath, so that when you end the session of your respawn by standing on the campfire, it collects your items and send it to your base.
The 'adding blocks to Iskall's server-made-build without him noticing' game is amazing. Such a laugh watching that so thank you Mumbo and Iskall. I'd love to see more Hermits attempt this challenge. 25 is a high number to beat! 😄

You know what you should make for your base? A kill chamber. So you can enter it, you die, all your items get hoppered into your base, and then you and your items are "magically" transferred inside!

An auto armour re-equipper would also be a nice addition.
He could use a hostile mob with a nametag like in Decked Out 2, so his death message says something like "Mumbo was killed by nothing, he just entered his base."

The one concern I have with this new method of mountain-side base entry: Mumbo could hypothetically outdie Scar, which shouldn't be acheivable, even with the ammount of times Scar has died ALREADY.

I can confirm that your base is now structurally sound according to Johnson’s law of structural integrity. (I’m not an engineer just making this up).
I'm not an engineer either, but you're not far off. I did some research, ran the numbers and according to newton's laws of gravity, in combination with Wallowitz's laws of tension, the base is now 100%, certified, structurally sound.

@@justtjamess7214 Technically speaking your source dates back to 1978 meaning it is unnable to comprehend recent technical innovations. Using reference data on the average weight of deepslate and understanding the brain structure of a chicken leads me to believe that this base is only possible due to the absence of a door.
Mumbo states himself that he hadn't considered entry ways to his base, however this is where the understanding of a chickens brain comes into fruition. Its quite possible for Mumbo to have been manipulated by a chicken in order to not include a door, hence why is immediate thought as structural support was a chicken and not an animal like a sheep.
Mumbo was adamant about finding Chickens even scaling a mountain for one, hence its clear that this base was structural not by chance or logic, but by the power of a chicken.
As a friend of Johnson, he told me it's true. I trust him as a man of integrity.

There was this wonderful dramatic pause at 14:31, after Scar asked how the lava and ice could be layered. Except it wasn't an intentional pause in the video, it was a computer crash, so... not so wonderful. But the first second-before I realized Scar's arms weren't waving, and that the silence was too complete-that moment of silence was great for building tension and making me wonder what would be said next.
3:40 as an IT engineer with 0 building experience i say this build is up to code, good job mumbo.
As an electrical and software engineer, I can confirm this build looks sturdy
