I thought it would be nice to hear Alex again, I wasn’t expecting it to be so lovely, it felt like a going home for the weekend after a long week away. You two a brilliant rapport and chemistry. Looking forward to having Ree back, but hope Alex doesn’t leave it so long next time. #ReeAndAlex when Rob goes away later in the year?
I had an inkling as to who the surprise guest would be, but still a great treat. Nice to have you two back together for an ep! And looking forward to hearing about Ree's custard tarts!
Wow Alex!!!! You legend!! Its an absolute delight and pleasure to see you back!!! Ive missed you. We miss Rhi but I Hooe she extends her holiday so we can see you again next week.
i really missed my ASAD fix last week! So glad to have you back Rob! and nice to meet Alex, what a lovely chap! another amazing episode as usual and i’m looking forward to Ree’s return to the podcast once she’s back from holiday! ☺️
Absolutely agree, I've watched Corrie and Emmerdale since I was born and from the start of Eastenders and I've literally switched them off except for Eastenders of course 😅 Chris Clenshaw has been a breath of fresh air to Enders. Thank you for an amazing podcast and for all you do on the podcast in general, I'll been watching since Christmas but binge watched the old videos and previous podcast 😊
I like Reiss, but I did wonder if they were going down a darker route this week, I don't necessarily think that means he was monstrous in the past, but it did feel a bit this week like he could be pushed to Break Bad somewhat, almost felt John Stape-esque. He felt a little manipulative in the scene where Sonia told him Bianca was ill too, where he made it all about him again, although that might be because I was reading too much between the lines at this point.
Also lowkey expect Vinnie to kill Nish in a twist (maybe he asks him to help him die) and for Suki to get Eve to help find her a way to frame herself to protect him as she won’t want another son in jail after Jaqs and he’s her youngest. We know she threw jaqs under the bus to save vinnie before so clearly would do what she can to protect him. And I think Nish could manipulate any member of the family to help him to die. He’s also quite a proud man so wouldn’t want an illness to cause him to get weaker until he dies naturally so there would be a motive. Might be a who assisted Nish story?
I've been watching old episodes of EastEnders on iPlayer recently and it's been a weird experience Starting with the positives though I miss the Masood family I think I liked all the Masood characters Zainab was funny and constantly gossiping about others but complained when others gossiped about her family and her "friendship" with Bushra was hilarious Masood was the poor suffering husband who loves his family but didn't always get it right ( gambling and Jane spring to mind) Syed was extremely flawed but just wanted his parents to be proud of him Christian and Zainab were perfect as both enemies and friends/family Shabnam was a good example of trying to be the daughter your parents want but also wanting to let your hair down and have your own separate life Tamwar was a nerdy lovable comedy character who stood by Syed after the outing (brotherly loyalty) Kamil was constantly fussed over and Zainab singing to get Kamil to sleep was funny On the negative side though There were characters I used to like back then that upon rewatch I really don't like I liked Lola back when I used to watch it but upon rewatch I can't stand her Looking back Lola and Ben having sex to test whether he was gay or not was retrospectively homophobic (as if Ben didn't know his own mind about being gay he should have sex with a girl to prove it) I'm sorry to say it but Lexi is nothing more than a failed experiment as Ben is gay Also the Lola, Abi and Jay thing was annoying at times Another character I liked back then was Whitney The Tony story was well done but it became a character trait for Whitney where she was constantly a victim and who she was in a relationship with was relevant Tony, Rob and Leo and in between those people she was constantly in a failed relationship Connor was cheating on Whitney with Carol Tyler Fatboy Two of the guys she liked hooked up with Ben (Johnny and Callum) Zach cheated on her She tried to kiss Max and Mick At what point did Shona realise that Whitney was always destined to be miserable
We absolutely need an Alex And REE combination with Rob for a 3-hander which would be as iconic as Frank Peggy and Pat ! (I absolutely despise change normally therefore I’m pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed Alex on this week 😂)
Hello again Alex! I hope you and Ben are doing well. I do have to agree with you on the writing for the younger people haha, I like the storylines it's just a bit cringe with the way they make them speak and act. I'm 21 though so maybe it is accurate but I remember cringing when I was the same age as the characters in a lot of stuff when I was younger so I think it's just a universal thing at this point haha
Great call back by Alex to Dirty Den and Angie - parallels with Nish and Suki, too! I am a newbie who hadn't seen Alex before. Great podcast, but I love Ree! As for Reece/ Reis and his care home wife, I do agree that there is a darker side of him. Could he have done something to her? He seems to know a lot about pregnancy given that he struggled with his first wife. Did she do something to cause a miscarriage, and he did something to put her in a coma? We might see a controlling relationship develop here; with Bianca being the saviour in a few months. In time for the 40th? or Xmas 2024? I am a bit bored of the Six storyline now - it seems like a cheap rip off of Big Little Lies, something new needs to happen otherwise they are just ringing out a wet tea towel at this point. Love the idea of having an autistic character, would be great to see a late in life diagnosis, too. Good job EE and After Dark gang!
You know what doesn’t make sense, Jack got Denise’s necklace from the grave. But Denise said it’s still lost and won’t wear it. I don’t get that. Like she could easily say she found it again
I feel we’re moving into Linda exiting the show. Only because the build of the knights and how many of them in the vic with Elaine has taken the lights away from Linda. And realistically will Linda get away with murder if they’re teasing the six being caught out. I feel she’ll exit on the 40th.
Yaaaay - I knew it would be Alex sitting in for Ree. ‘Selfish Sonia’: I agree with Bianca. Sonia didn’t know she was pregnant with Chloe/Bex, but she couldn’t wait to see the back of her. Although Lily knew she was pregnant, at a younger age, she was more grown up and kept her baby. Sonia is being very selfish how in taking Debbie’s money. I just hope Debbie wakes up and all hell breaks loose. (Sonia did mention that Reece is still paying for Debbie’s time in the home). Junior: I really don’t like the character, after he slept with two women behind his wife’s back. He has no feelings whatsoever and appears to be a Ladies Man. Also, would it be that Bianca is pregnant to him? Levi: Could Pastor Clayton have seen him off by getting him sacked? If Levi has mentioned what Yolande told him, that awful pastor could well have made sure Levi doesn’t take it any further. Pastor Clayton: As we know, one of the ladies he attacked went to the police but got nowhere. She could somehow find out about Yolande if this is reported and come forward or the police should still have a record of it. Elaine: When Bianca asked for her vodka, Elaine didn’t charge her for it - it could be seen that no money was handed over. Elaine also did Keanu’s wake for free. She’s certainly been giving away a lot of stuff over the last few weeks! Linda: Did anybody notice, in Monday’s episode, a piece of black lying across her cleavage? I thought it was too high up to be her bra at first. However, she was definitely wearing a black bra.
I'd love some adult autistic representation. My only gripe with it is that we already have quite a stereotypical representation of autism with Ollie being a little white boy...having an adult white male who's autistic doesn't exactly add diversity.
I thought it would be nice to hear Alex again, I wasn’t expecting it to be so lovely, it felt like a going home for the weekend after a long week away. You two a brilliant rapport and chemistry.

#ReeAndAlex when Rob goes away later in the year?

Lovely to have a return from Alex - I did wonder what he thought about The Six storyline! Maybe we'll see him next year for the 40th anniversary 🎉
Alex!!! our old friend has returned!
Welcome back Alex. Nice to see you with Rob. Bring back memories. Hope Ree has had a great holiday. A great show as always
The ant and dec of eastenders
Good to know Alex still watches EE

Nuggle is hilarious. Reminds me of Labyrinth lol
Alex! Yay what a lovely surprise ❤ brilliant episode x
I knew it was Alex guest hosting. So nice to see you again Alex.😊💙

Alex! So nice to see you😊
Hope Alex (and Ben!?) make a few more appearances - get them back for Christmas and the anniversary! 😊
Alex! Ahhhh! Welcome back 🎉
I think the anniversary will have Mick return because Linda keeps talking about him again atm

@@TheRyel97Gaming mick will be back but not like everyone thinks it will be in her dream or she will end her life and see him in the light
@@Nightmare-zoot I can't imagine her leaving Olly and Annie on purpose though and her other kids
I've been watching old episodes of EastEnders on iPlayer recently and it's been a weird experience
Starting with the positives though
I miss the Masood family
I think I liked all the Masood characters
Zainab was funny and constantly gossiping about others but complained when others gossiped about her family and her "friendship" with Bushra was hilarious
Masood was the poor suffering husband who loves his family but didn't always get it right ( gambling and Jane spring to mind)
Syed was extremely flawed but just wanted his parents to be proud of him
Christian and Zainab were perfect as both enemies and friends/family
Shabnam was a good example of trying to be the daughter your parents want but also wanting to let your hair down and have your own separate life
Tamwar was a nerdy lovable comedy character who stood by Syed after the outing (brotherly loyalty)
Kamil was constantly fussed over and Zainab singing to get Kamil to sleep was funny
On the negative side though
There were characters I used to like back then that upon rewatch I really don't like
I liked Lola back when I used to watch it but upon rewatch I can't stand her
Looking back Lola and Ben having sex to test whether he was gay or not was retrospectively homophobic (as if Ben didn't know his own mind about being gay he should have sex with a girl to prove it)
I'm sorry to say it but Lexi is nothing more than a failed experiment as Ben is gay
Also the Lola, Abi and Jay thing was annoying at times
Another character I liked back then was Whitney
The Tony story was well done but it became a character trait for Whitney where she was constantly a victim and who she was in a relationship with was relevant
Tony, Rob and Leo and in between those people she was constantly in a failed relationship
Connor was cheating on Whitney with Carol
Tyler
Fatboy
Two of the guys she liked hooked up with Ben (Johnny and Callum)
Zach cheated on her
She tried to kiss Max and Mick
At what point did Shona realise that Whitney was always destined to be miserable
he was buried in the cafe keanu on eastenders
We absolutely need an Alex And REE combination with Rob for a 3-hander which would be as iconic as Frank Peggy and Pat ! (I absolutely despise change normally therefore I’m pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed Alex on this week 😂)
They needed Sam Mitchell permanently, axing her again was silly
I missed you Alex!! Hope you are well. hugs

Hello Alex my old friend - what is the title of your pod for Coronation Street - I love it as well!
