Awesome, you stayed at Kirk Creek, one of my favorites dating back to the 1970s. Check out its history, it was the staging camp during the building of the Big Sur highway
As always, beautiful landscapes. I'd have been shaky driving thru the city even without a rig! Slow and steady is the way to go for sure. It's nice to just chill and enjoy the scenery, especially after driving. Very enjoyable video.
I miss the ocean, it's just too expensive to make the trip plus California's high gas prices. I would love to hunt for driftwood and seashells. Beautiful video.

I took my wife to the redwoods a year or so ago. I have been a couple of times. But my wife has never seen the giant trees. Quickly turned into her favorite place to visit.

I'd like to take this opportunity to commend you on your videos. While others may have better scripted textual presentation, your vidiography and music are unmatched and easily captivates viewers imaginations. You have an exquisite eye for beautiful scenery and can capture it on video. I remember you made mention of your philosophy in a video a while back but I appreciate you sticking to your guns. I just unsubcribed from a channel where 70-75% of her videos had her bikini clad or other provocative apparel on in her thumbnails to elicite views and likes. With all the camping, boondocking and outdoor activities I've engaged in over the years, many in places you've shown in your videos, I've NEVER come across anyone dressed so inappropriate for the outdoors. It all seems so unrealistic to the outdoor experience. Stay classy, keep your video adventures interesting and amazing and your followers will always stay loyal to you and your channel.
Regardless of how many times that I have taken the entire road trip up and down HWY 1 it never gets old, thanks for the reminder!!!

Catherine I loved this video! Northern California is a magical place with beautiful scenery! I remember it well on my journeys through there in the 90's. Catherine, as a southern California native myself, I have not taken too many trips to Northern California, thanks to your journey, it's time for me to take a road trip up the coast. You always open my eyes to the wonders of the west. Your videos are a feast for the eyes and ears. Thank you.
Oh girl, you don't know what you are missing. Go see the Muir Woods on the north side of the Golden Gate Bridge. Visit wineries. Hike! Further north is just beautiful. If you haven't seen Lake Tahoe it is gorgeous. If you like to gamble there's Reno. Everytime I go to California I see something new and interesting.

I was at big sur CA back in 2000 with my Semi Truck I was turned around before the old big bridge CHP didn't give me a ticket because there were no truck signs up awesome scenery Happy Thanksgiving and many blessings God bless ✝️🇺🇲

It's nice seeing the comfort of home 'in tow' right behind you. It makes living on the road and the outdoors more tolerable for sure, especially during the harsher months. Another winner! My parents liked to "wander" (as they put it) )the coast from SLO on up to Humboldt. The music on this one was as relaxing as the videography. Here are a couple of my varations on tacos: Have you ever tried Kung Pao Beef or Chicken as fuller? Or, how about Beef and Boccoli tacos? Praying that you have a great Thanksgiving with your family. Thank you for the beautiful video. Big Sur is a gorgeous place. It has been a long time since I have been there. Driving hwy 1 anywhere take nerve. To me the worst part is just south of Mendocino on the way to Manchester.
Been years since I've seen that coast - and most of it was in the fog. You had fanstatic weather once you got down there. Thanks for sharing this brief, but spectacluar, portion of your trip.
Your videos are always so beautiful. I’m heading out today for Big Bend, Carlsbad Caverns, and White Sands National Parks. I totally understand the white knuckle driving. I hate driving through busy urban areas!
We did White Sands and had an amazing time. It was very unexpected. Don't miss the Catwalk Canyon and Gila Cliff Dwellings if you're in the area.
I love RT 1 - I drove this route from SF to LA in 1999 and still to this day is my favorite coastal drive - especially Monterey 😍

Big Sur has to be one of my favorite places in the US. It's just gorgeous. You need to head down toward Monterey and go to Gilroy and get some garlic! The garlic stuff olives are fantastic. They make chopped or bulb garlic preserved inoil or water and pureed garlic. It will keep you healthy and keep those colds away! The Garlic Shoppe has garlic ice cream! You might pick up some wine, too!!
At Big Sur one of the resorts has Glamping. You can spend the night in the woods in a fancy tent with a real bed. My cousin said it was awesome.... and expensive!
Catherine this was a great journey going to Big Sur! It was very nice and beautiful seeing the ocean and seeing the waves hit the rocks. It’s sure is a beautiful noise. I love the ocean. Absolutely incredible! I was raised in the Midwest but have lived in western Texas for 32 years now & I have always wanted to explore northern Cal. See the redwoods in person. My husband & I ride Harley Tri Glides & just added to the bucket list of travel areas to the areas you took us to this week. BUT we may do that in the spring unless we climb in the pickup & head that way. Can you imagine what that way would be like on a bike though? Whole different perspective to see scenes like that on bike.😁 Thanks Cat for the trip!

Nice videography, scenery, and editing. But... I sure do miss you in the truck camper. I went from a 28' travel trailer to a truck camper and have never been happier with the ease of maneuverability and all the new places I can now go! I'm sure you have some regrets as well. Let us know what regrets you have, if any. My only regret was losing the amount of storage space in the travel trailer I thought I needed... I've come to find that smaller = better!!!!
I hear ya on the white knuckles. After buying my Springdale RDWE in Montana this summer I made my way down the eastern sierras and eventually parked my trailer in Escondido area for the rest of the fall and now the Coachella Valley for the winter. LA/SD traffic was not fun however having a furrion camera system sure does make things a little better knowing what’s around or behind ya.

How would you compare the trailer to the truck camper at this point? Obviously bigger and more comfortable living in it, but has driving/parking/having to back up or turn around been a problem?
All this time in what you would call the significant mountains you need to hike the presidential of NH no dirt trails once you get to 3400 feet no more paths just Boulders straight up. My favorite hikes are MT Washington and Mt Katahdin I have hiked them all from NY to Maine. Time to move east we may not be huge but we are fierce. You start at a much lower sea level and once you get halfway it hits and says come and get me come and get me so that should be your next goal to expand the channel. I would really like to know what's tougher
Wow! You really are getting around in that rig. California used to allow overnight stays in the turn-outs along the coast for one night to enable travel. I'm not sure if they still do. Nice to go to sleep with the crashing of the waves. We didn't have any problem watching this episode so I don't know what happened with the last one. Be safe and have a Happy Thanksgiving.❤
