Technically, the CEO is hired by the President of Board of Directors, a board that runs a publicly owned company, who is owned by its stockholders. Otherwise, why would an owner hire someone else to be the effective boss of their company?

Canada must break ties with the pirate, criminal and parasite monarchy from the small Island of England (for centuries were pirates of the World and with time became a legal criminal cartel but Irish and Scottish know this better for centuries of murdering and repression) sorry for being honest. Canada must become a Republic; as a christian I know God is with us!

@iVERSEyouPro in reality yes, although a big argument in favour of constitutional monarchies are that they are a check on the government, they have the power to exercise their power on their own discretion in either an unforeseen circumstance or some sort of break glass in case of emergency situation (provincial vice-regals in Canada have done this on several occasions in the last few years). What my original comment was referring to was the legal way our system is set up. In republics for example, sovereign power, authority and legitimacy is vested in the people and/or the constitution. In Canada, and most constitutional monarchies, authority and legitimacy is vested in the monarch. That's why the Crown is the executive branch. Even if the Crown is intended to act on the advise of the government 99.9% of the time, they still have to be the ones who actually authorize things.

@Damon Tsekos I think your confused, the patriation of the constitutions occurred in the 1980s by Elizabeth II at the request of the respected realms and did not remove the authority of the monarch but removed the final powers that the UK parliament had over them making them fully sovereign. With Canada, the Dominion of which being founded in 1867, the monarch of the United Kingdom has also been the monarch of Canada in a separate capacity since the separation of the crowns with the Statue of Westminster in the 30s and 40s, this meaning that the current sovereign can only act in the interests of that realm and not in the interests of the UK as the roles are legally separate. The Queen of Canada is the head of state and is above the PM in all realms but will act by advise from her advisors when acting a sovereign in that territory, but she has not done so since the 50s, with the last being State Visits to the US on behalf of Canada not the UK, and currently appoints a Vice Regal representative like a Governor General on advise from the respective Prime Minister or head of government who carry out her duties, which are the same as the UK with the same powers, and normally serve a term with them being traditionally switch from Anglophone to Francophone in Canada to represent the two groups.

It’s the same in the UK, we recently saw it when Boris Johnson was hospitalized for Coronavirus he was very near to not be able to run the UK so she would have had to take over for him since there is no vicepresident in the UK or Canada, there is only a Prime Minister

@Damon Tsekos Sovereign with her as Queen of Canada. She is still head of state. The Queen is head of state of 16 independent nations. In the her absence the Governor General does her consitutional duties.
@Damon Tsekos Legally not so. She is still the head of state. By the framework of the consitution who signs off on bills? Who accepts the writ of elections? Who calls on the leader of the majority in Parliament to form government? The role is still very much pratical. The monarch is no longer involved in policy. But they have been slowly removed from that role since the Victorian era. Also the Queen has not been removed from any currency. Sir John A MacDonald was replaced on the 10 and Sir Wilfred Laurier was replaced on the 5. The Queen still appears on the 20, all coins and stamps. The oath of citizenship and oath of office is still sworn to the Queen. Not the Prime minister, not the flag, not the consitution. The Queen is still our head of state. The fact you people keep arguing is sad and pathetic. Do some research on your country.

Actually, the founding farther's, and the first 8 presidents, were British, including all original migrants. Only later, did others help colonize America, such as the French, and the Spanish. Britain is basically America's mother lol.
Don't know if you know this and kind of unrelated but fun fact: did you know that the French settlers that the British displaced in Canadian colonies such as newfoundland travelled to the, at the time, French colony of Louisiana and that is why creole is a thing there! It's quite cool to the see the effects of stuff like that today, of course there are many negative effects of colonialism but its interesting none the less.
