The injury sucks, but you know the Ubrey Run Crew is going to support you all the way. Great job on that 5k. The run with Fordy will be wicked! Also, your little man is a rock star! Put in dat woyk! 💪😂
Man, it's pure joy of running and having your son by your side... This is the real victory, wish you quick recovery and keep it real as you always do! 💪🏻
Thank you so much, yeah it definitely was a joy. It’s a very new experience for us both. It made the whole event that more special and even this race vlog was that much more colourful
Dudes!!.. Aubrey your son is awesome!!.. love all the content man!!… as a father of a son too… watching y’all together is amazing!!… Cheers from Richmond Virginia USA!!
Running rewards consistency so injuries are really tough. It was great to see your son cheering you on at the race though, those moments are what it's all about! ☺️
Absolutely, I have noticed the impact of this injury for sure because I felt like I was gaining momentum and getting better. But oh well… part of the journey. And yes… it was a joy having my son there with me
Thanks for sharing - dealing with some injuries for my first 10k and race in June. I'll be keeping your mindset for my run, keeping positive and most important enjoying the company of my friends! Also being another Aubrey i feel your channel was meant for me to watch 😊. Aubrey
It’s always cheesy to say but the return will be bigger than the setback! Thanks for the encouragement. And yeah it’s all about your mindset for sure. You’ve got this! Let’s go Aubrey!!!!
So sorry about the low back, it will get better, even though its hard to believe it now. On the positive, you are on a roll with the channel and sponsors. Love to see it, as I enjoy your content.
Nice ! :) Good job doing what you love and having some fun with your boy at the same time :) Honestly I can really relate to the idea of racing without going for PB every time. I just did a 10k trail run and enjoyed every moment, but it was not fast at all :)
I hear you man.. its been a month that i was asked to rest and do physio since i have some nerve pinch on the lower back and i have a bit of pain etc on the lower lower back... have my 4th physio session in 2 days.. so gutted that i havent been able to run at all these 4 weeks. cant wait to be told to just run and enjoy.. m glad u got the approval to do this 5K. hoping i get the nod soon mate ... but lower back pain issues are a b****.... i have never been injured otherwise and live a very healthy lifestyle so that upsets me a lot but ill keep going.. ur video inspired me ... take care and love to the lil man ! hope he loved the "post race" meal :)
I’ve got an appointment for a steroid injection on 20th which will further relieve me from the pain so I should be able to get back on track. After that, I will definitely make sure the post race meals game levels up! I pray you feel better soon!
Fractured my spine 14 times some years back, also self rectified. Stick with the PT and stay consistent. Wear a brace if you need to! Wishing you a speedy recovery!!🔥
Yassss !! I loved this vid so much I made the hubs watch it with me the 2nd time. 😂 Josiah cracks me up- he’s such a personable guy. Wonder where he got that from… 😆
He truly is a gem! Genuinely proud of him as his own person and that’s a gift as a parent. Seeing your own child as a complete independent person with his own traits. But as you say it’s also important to recognise that as parents we are doing a good job with these little people… as always… I love the support
Ah dear Aubrey, sad to hear you have been going through an injury. I think many of us have had a few niggles the last couple of months, and that speaks to how eager we all are to strive to be the best we can. When we met in Victoria park, I was also just coming back from a similar injury, believe me it gets better, but give it time, and there's always plenty of aerobic development possible whilst keeping the stress and strain down to a minimum! Goodwood looks great and is up my street for the kind of course i'd love to have a crack at. If you're going again, let me know and i've love to run one with ya.
Thank you very much… that’s such a great shout about keeping the aerobic work going which I certainly haven’t done. As for Goodwood… I’m back there on July 7th and for sure will announce it again closer to the time.
Awe Man..I've had my troubles with herniated disc and bulging disc multiple times I had shots to back and area I know how painful and annoying the pain is I hope you recover soon and get better it's not nice when ya get injured but it happens take the time you need and don't Over do it take the time yes you will feel you have to start over no worries you recover love ya brotha sorry to hear that God bless and may your recovery be swift and successful one love take care..
Yeah man, but you know what l, I go into recovery knowing that there are more important things in life than running. My family needs a healthier me so that’s my priority. All good!
Great Video and the young one always makes me laugh! With the issue on your back, have you tried an osteopath? My partner has had issues with misaligned discs in her back in the past and she swears by them.
I am going to exhaust all options for a solution and the avoidance of this happening again. Will check out osteopaths for sure but starting with intentional mobility work
Fair play to you for even just getting out there mate especially with a bad back! I bumped into Mr Tim Grose last weekend at the 10k event haha Shame to have missed you on this one though, had I known I would have come and given you a loud cheer 😂 #AubreyFanClub
Hoka must have had to custom make those sleeves for those big ass arms Aubrey, lookin swole 💪🏼 congrats on another race completed my guy. On the injury- don’t get discouraged. I have Spondylolisthesis of my L spine and my disc is completely gone (I have no disc to bulge 😂). It’s bone on bone. Physical therapy and being smart has allowed me to somehow run almost pain free.
5K fun run . Man I'd love to just do it to get the 'medal'. Simply just make it within that time frame. could care less about the podium. lol.. not like as if you're running for endorsement deals at the end of the day. haha. Just keeping things practical.
I think lil Aubrey is Creeping up on you in the brutally honest category 🤭….”just mostly here for the cookies”……speedy recovery on the lumbar thing.🙏🏻 One thing that made a tremendous difference in my overall mobility from Achilles right up to neck,is paying more attention to spinal mobility exercises with a dowel rod.I realized my thoracic spine wasn’t flexible enough therefore my lumbar spine was being overworked.IMO rotational/spinal exercises are one of the most neglected exercises with runners ,focusing mostly on the sagittal plane.I’ve also used an inversion table in the past and still do,for spinal decompression.I suspect you already know this,so pardon the redundancy.Keep ‘em coming ,your vids are like a full course meal with dessert.🏃🏿♂️👊🏽
What would you say is a good set of exercises for this. If I was to plan around a 1 hour work please advise on a a few movements with sets and reps and I’ll manage the weight.
@@AubreyRunning There’s a (spinal mobility)Utuber “Dr Dan’s Plan “,he has a dowel rod series.(Google “dowel rod series rotational “Very good ,takes 5-10 minutes ,good pre run warm up and I use only 3….thoracic rotational, side bends and front to back.I would do them wide stance and shoulder width apart….4’ -6 ‘dowel required, broomstick will do.I’ve got some good info on “ the spinal engine theory “ and another one on rotational torque in runners.Let me know and I’ll send elsewhere, for some reason I’m having trouble putting links in this space.Hope this helps and hope you’re back to 💯 soon🙏🏻👊🏽
McDonald's needs to send you a check. You can sell anything - kid's too cute & is winning with the dimples. Flying blind, sounds like a subluxation in lower spine (disrupting a nerve) and if small/minor can self-heal. Strengthening your core will help (the plank and cobra yoga positions & crunch exercises). Good luck.
I know what your going through m8 🫤 I have a bulging disc in my lumbar spine L5 S1 , I done it in 2014 deadlifting in the gym , I was really bad was out of work for 5 months then on pain killers for years just to get by , it was probably 2017 before I was basically pain free tho still flares up sometimes from time to time but I sort of know what I can & can't do , I actually hadda give up running in 2014 as sciatica in my leg/butt would be agony after I tried & only got back to running in 2021 , hopefully you've caught it quick enough & can learn to manage it , all the best 🏃🏾♂️
Oh man, I feel for you. At its worst, it can be so painful that you can’t do anything else but here’s to wishing it goes away and we get back to the running I was going before. Thanks for the encouragement
Little man cheering you on at the end is priceless. Children are so special and being a dad is my favorite role hands down. Love to see it.
Nothing measured up. It’s such a joy and it was amazing having him there. The drive, the getting ready and even the finish… a memorable event for sure

He is a true joy! I love the little man!
What a great race this was! Was good to see you there, and your son has smashed the camera work 👊🏻
Absolutely, and thanks for stopping me at the end. Always a pleasure and joy to meet people in real life
Wishing you a speedy recovery Aubrey. Hopefully you got some good news yesterday. Looking forward to more collabs!
Yeah thanks, all good. Healing up I think. Further treatment incoming.
Ah, great to see the little man 👍🎉🏃 Well done fella, take care.

Thank you so much. Yes it’s a joy having him with me throughout the day… from the drive to the race to McDonald’s 😂😂😂
Little man is so cute. ❤ one day he will be running right beside you. Vendors are the best with the free food. Keep getting it and get well.
I think we will make it a mission to get the free snacks after the race.
Little dude is absolutely hilarious. Hope the back heals quick
