  • We set out in a sketchy, new to us, van on a mission to relocate my personal belongings halfway across the United States.
This 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan cost us $1000, way cheaper than renting a moving truck and a lot more fun. especially if we can sell it quick once we arrive in Kansas.
Join us on a budget road trip and see if this POS can get us to our destination safely.
    The journey continues...
We get weird in Ashville, NC and make our way west.
The vanbergini exhaust gives way. It is just as rusted as the rest of her.
    Kayaks, paddleboards, and more beer!
The van takes us into Great Smoky Mountain National Park where we trek through a variety of mushrooms and stumble upon some venomous snakes. Ian gets stung by a bee.
Our life in the van and on the road continues.
From Great Smoky Mountains to Big South Fork...our road trip continues on. We hike to Yahoo Falls and Split Bow Arch, encountering more snakes!

While your enjoying hiking, you might consider panning for gold flakes and nuggets. You will find some small pieces in the TN and NC mountain streams ,rivers. ⛏🙂 You'll be a rich woman!

I kind of feel bad selling the van after watching this video. Seemed like such a close friend of yours

We LOVED the van, and did discuss keeping it. It just didn't make sense to hold onto it. I wonder what we will buy next?
