Intergalactic Community: "WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO THAT TIYANKI?!" My Machine Empire: "..... Breeding it? That's the point of the new DLC." Intergalactic Community: "FOR FOOD DAMMIT. FOR FOOD!" My Machine Empire: "Oh. Sorry lil' Tiyankis my bad."
I saw the segment on undead Amoeba now im just imagining a hive mind with necro civic and wrangler civics. Assimilating biomass one planet at a time, getting larger and larger armies and breeding ships at a breakneck pace.
It is possible but also EXTREMELY food consuming. Assimilating a single fleet ends up consuming something like 60 food per day. You need to heavily focus on farms.
This system is reminding me of the Tourism mechanic from Civ, hopefully this is a sign of a potential culture mechanic in the works. Right now, the only win conditions are "claim this amount of space" and specific Ascension perks. Would be nice to have more diverse win conditions.
Paradox have stated numerous times over the years, most recently in their July dev diaries, that they have zero intention of adding alternative win conditions since that "would defeat the entire purpose of sandbox gameplay and map painting" according to them.
If you take Primal Calling alongside Warrior Culture, you get Beastfighter jobs which are basically Wrangler and Duelist combined, which I thought was pretty neat.
Not going to lie, I'm looking forward to this. I think I'm going to like this dlc because it's so similar to ancient relics and first contact which are my favs.
The time has come. Nothing shall stop The Rise. Behold the true beginning for The Cult of Bubbles! Now fly my space amoeba fleets and convert the heretics! Into space debris!
Is the dig sites excavating in unowned systems of yours or unowned system in altogether? Because it sounds like you can dig up sites in other empires and could be really powerful
Damn those origins look fun, but... I wanted to do a Here Be Dragons run first :/ Guess I'll be doing three runs back to back then lol. Can you still play it nice with the dragon when taking Cordyceptics?
Beast masters civics seem terrible. If it were removable I might consider taking it at the start, but it’s a permanent civic. That means it needs to be so good that it pays for a civic slot and pigeonholing you to space fauna ships for the whole game. It just doesn’t, and hive minds don’t get benefits like the counselor slot. If it were a free civic costing no civic points I wouldn’t take it. One thing to note is that Under One Rule starts that change tag via the rebellion might be able to remove it because the rebellion can overwrite permanent civics
i mean... the only down side to it is ships using twice naval cap... all you need to do is boost your naval cap or have enough resource incone to cover over-cap upkeep costs and you'd be fine. its honestly not "that" bad..
U know, machine age might be the bigger dlc, but it’s nothing new, as in a mod culd have totally added EVERYTHING in that mod pack and only (slightly) struggles with vegans This thou, this wuld break most Moders no matter the time investment
Well, Machine Age was fantastic and it came before the last one, which was a bit of a misstep. Though as... divisive as Cosmic Storms is, at the very least it was trying something unique.
@@SporkMan2k Well, it is a bit more than "just" any megastructure. Most megastructures just give you a single massive economy boost. This one has an entire game mechanic tied to it that gives a lot more flavor to the game and makes many one-and-done anomalies more meaningful. There's also the whole domestication thing that gives entirely new options for fleet building.
*I SPEND THE ENTIRE SECOND HALF OF EVERY GAME TRYING TO DESTROY THINGS TO MITIGATE LAG.....WHY TF WOULD I WANT TO ADD ALL THIS GARBAGE TO A PLAYTHROUGH VS AI??? IT JUST DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENESE AS A STAND ALONE DLC.*
Its called diversity in gaming. Why didnt you think these bio ships can replace alloy ships so you need less pops and planets to build your fleet power? (Ironically a new play style to reduce lag lol). They even make it an achievement which mean they actually scale them to be up to the task to be able to fight Crisis. Stop projecting your perspective on others. Its add loads of things and whole new game mechanics and features not just some orbital ring economy bonus for numbers. THis one is game changing very its big this time because we have been killing fauna and not have a use for them since stellaris necroids concept emerged, AI behaviour and their strategy will change a lot. Plantoid seeder origin, sky dragon origin, hive mind origin, necroid, genocidal civics, endless ships replacement. Except for the price
@@Dragor33-rg7xj Tbf, just because there's an achievement doesn't mean they necessarily made bio ships properly viable. There's also an achievement for ignoring the hyperdrive techs with Eager Explorers and yet, the game just doesn't support this kind of playstyle at all. Without hyperdrives you can't use bypasses like gateways or wormholes since the pathfinding is build around hyperlanes. And yes, I'm still salty about that. Early game with Stargazers is incredibly fun and yet, you just can't double down on it and have to go for the boring route sooner or later.
@@nineflames2863 Sure an achievement doesnt guarantee it will deliver its promise, but it did prove they actually have intention for the gameplay to be steered on that road and do want to expand on this area of the game. But how good is the execution is debatable and how much the community liked this feature that will garner more attention in the future. Also I thought you can play Tall with MegaCorp or Orbital? Virtual ? So the game is actually built with no gateway and wormhole playstyle? You can also turn all of them off in the settigs too? You can see Montu Play with the no FTL scenario
What do you mean? Getting raw science boosts your research speed in that category until the stockpile is gone. It's not useless, just not completely busted like it used to be.

this is incredible, with the space fauna you can actually use fruitful partnership to self colonise/seed planets

A score win condition at 2400 already feels kinda dumb. Maybe copying civ feels bad to them but it honestly seems like a superior win system

So this basicly makes space amibas not uslles? Space amibas only when?
Ok, the 'can excavate in unowned system' perk has me more excited now... can still play Tall and have fun. Trayzn experience is a-go.
Having the AI steal systems with archeological sites is infuriating, especially when you're trying to finish the precursor research.

interested if the ether drakes and dragons can also be captured and breed for fleets. Or even ships from the brood swarm crisis.
You can't tame the leviathans specifically. Each instead provides a unique mutation that you can apply to cloned fauna.
Speaking of the Scourge, can you reanimate them as a cordyceptic hivemind?

Whauu, I should try it out once I get into employment :D

Only question I have is why culling dive you physics research? Isn`t it should be society (biology) (green) instead?

What about space dragons can you make them as well
