I actually worked as a scare actor in Silverscream this year, and we've been understaffed for sure. They started sending us on breaks in groups so that the 10-15 actors we usually have are reduced. I promise the other actors in my maze were certainly talented! There have just been a lot of struggles this year, including some moving mazes due to the conditions (heat exhaustion in the building), and a lot of guests harassing the actors. I really hope it gets better next year, and that you'll consider coming back anyway.
That park does look cool in the dark tho. Especially during the holidays. They go all out w/ their themes, lights, & decorations. Kind of reminds me a teeny bit of Florida w/ their lit up skies. I almost feel like im walking through a tim burton cartoon. But its super magical vibes w/ everything twinkling. Haha, it does bring the kid out on me. But yeah, I spent 80 at the gate & only got to get on 2 rides. I think my kid misheard & thought it closed at 10. She was just ready to be cranky & I had to look on the brighter side. I told her at least we'll experience Halloween walking through everything. It didn't close to 12 so our moods shifted a little. We were still only able to get on the fury & the intimidator. I might take her back this Xmas tho. & I still remember some Halloween ago where an employee had poopy stained pants. Took me awhile to realize that he was working there. Gross yes. Idk so much about creepy. Oh & the no bags thing is lame. If ppl get checked b4 going in, idk what the big deal is. Ppl can't have bags for the basics? Phone, keys, $? Idk if a couple of ppl ruined it for everyone else but thats just lame. & that sign said if ppl left we couldn't re enter... We sure as hell re entered twice. She forgot her pass. & I forgot my atm card.
I recommend checking out Dorney Park's Haunt. All their mazes are good and detailed and have multiple scares, some of the mazes are really long. Midways don't have a lot of scare actors though. Come during a Friday night and all mazes are walk ons! I haven't been there since 2019 so I don't know Covid affected the event.
@@brianfarrell269 yeah maybe on a Saturday there can be more of a wait but it's still a pretty under the radar park compared to Cedar Point or Kings Island
@@brianfarrell269 I agree and yes the maze lines do get long on Saturdays. I think I waited over an hour for Urgent Scare once on a Saturday. Luckily the coaster lines are usually around 20-30 minutes which may be long for Dorney standards but still not very long of a wait.
I was at Dorney almost every weekend for the haunt this year and I can say that the indoor mazes have really improved. The outdoor ones are still kind of lame. The ride wait times have been great though.
I actually worked at Scarowinds in 2018 and 2019 and I can assure you that this was an off year due to understaffing and change in theme. Back when I worked there all the scare zones had 10-15 scare actors per zone, the theme was a lot more established, and the mazes were more fun and frightening. I think y’all should give it a shot again 2-3 years down the line when the park figures out what they want to do with the event going forward, and next time try out the Slaughterhouse and Depth of Darkness, those two maze are far better than Silver Scream in my opinion.
Carowinds is my homepark, and this is a great event. They just had really bad luck, most of the mazes are phenomenal, and I think the primary show is better than anything at HHN
Carowinds is definitely my second favorite park for Fury and Copperhead Strike alone. You guys also went through the worst maze in the whole park btw, you all definitely traveled to SCarowinds on a bad day. Hope it's better next time!
I did Hallo-Weekends at Cedar Point and the best part is that the people all went to the lines for haunts, meaning Steel Vengeance had a half hour line.
Halloweekends sucks. This is coming from someone who is a prefers cedar point to silver dollar city and islands of adventure. Come for night rides on Friday, saturdays forget about it
Went to Halloweekends at Cedar Point, and was very underwhelmed. I attribute it to the labor shortage, as there were a considerably less amount of scare actors than previous years.
This is suprising. I went to Dorney's Haunt 2 weeks ago and it was WAY better than what was shown here. I recommend checking out the Dorney one sometime
I agree, they do a good job with their Haunt. All 8 mazes are good and have multiple scares, some of the mazes are quite long too. The only downside is that the midways don't have a lot of actors and the don't have many scare zones. If you go on a Friday night, all the mazes for the most part are walk ons.
I’ve only been to SFFT’s Fright Fest and it’s super fun. Carnevil is my favorite. Got to experience it with a full house. Actors were EVERYWHERE. You’d turn one corner and have one actor standing directly in front of you and have two actors pop out and shock you, and when you turn the corner they have another actor. Super fun house
Its always pack at Worlds of Fun and we're a smaller park. There be no parking spots left and everyone have to park in the grass. Is it like that at Carowinds?
